    Hey gals,

Was very confused for a minute when I visited the April thread and realised it was locked - I can't believe we're into May already! Time flies when you're having fun...

Hooray for Yasin's swimming lesson, dachlostar. It's wonderful that there are only 3 bubs in the class - did they plan it that way, or didn't many enrol? Either way it works out well for you. I'm sure you'll have a great time when it's your turn.

Hope Jay's party goes well, mooshie. So many people! Hope it wasn't too much of a drama. I read somewhere that you should invite 1 child for each year old the child is, eg. 2 kids for 2, 3 kids for 3. I know that for Charlie's birthday there will probably only be one other bub because I only know one couple with children. Anyway, I'm glad that the parties went well and hope that your house wassn't destroyed in the process!

Really sounds like Jessica's on the move, Michelle. I know a one year old who is RUNNING already (scary stuff) and Charlie is kind of on par with him as far as when he learned to sit up/crawl etc, so I'm a bit scared about when Charlie will start walking. Part of me says, "He's such a clever little guy" but the other part of me says, "No! Then my little boy will be growing up too fast! Not to mention how bad the house will be...". He's walking very confidently around furniture and has stood up on his on a few times for about 5 seconds. Who knows when it will be...

Not much else to report. Having a nice weekend with DH - no rehearsals! Although I have a gig tomorrow through the day as it's a public holiday up here. I think DH and Charlie are going to come along, so that should be nice. Charlie has been invited to his first party - the little boy who runs (see last paragraph) is turning one on Thursday and they're throwing a party for him on Saturday. Should be lovely. Charlie will have a ball playing with the other kids - the only time he plays with other kids usually is at the Playroom (creche) when I go to the gym.

Anyway, lots of housework to do. DH was using the computer to compose this morning, so I have been spending the last hour doing WASHING. How boring. Must keep going now.

Sorry if I missed anyone. Hope you all are having a lovely weekend.

    Hi everyone

Grace is now 6 months old so here I am - it's all gone so fast I can't believe my baby is half a year old!
She is doing great - had her immunisations last week and was fine. She weighs 7.8 kg, and is pretty much perfectly following the 50th percentile line on her graphs for weight, length and head circ. She is so much smaler than Harry was - at 6 months of age Harry was almost 10kg!
She is getting around on her tummy, commando crawling - although she gets up on her hands and knees and tries to crawl that way. She is vocalising too, saying da da da (which DH insists means daddy). She is loving her solids, having 3 meals a day plus bottles of 180ml and is now sitting her high chair to eat although she can't sit up by herself yet.
Anyway that's an update on Grace hope everyone and their bubbas are well!

    Hi bon!

I love the names you have chosen for your children. Harrison (Harry for short) was one of the names we had picked out for Charlie, but a good friend of ours had a little boy and named him Harry about 3 months before Charlie was born, so we decided not to go with that one. I think the "old fashioned" names are making a comeback, which is lovely. Grace sounds like she's little monkey - and saying 'da da' already! How wonderful for you. I look forward to hearing more about her over the coming months.

Where is everyone else?! I would have expected at least mooshie and mitch to make their appearances by now... speed demons that they are.

We had a lovely day today. I had a gig for Labour Day in the Roma Street Parklands. Although the union stuff was a little too full on for me the audience was really receptive. DH and Charlie came along too, and Charlie was such a good boy. He had about an hour's sleep in the pram (he never usually sleeps that long in the pram), but the music was a little too loud for him so DH took him for a bit of a walk. Then we went to coffee with two for DH's friends, who he has known since school (one is the bass player in my band - that's how we met) and they both loved hanging out with Charlie. It was funny to see two grown men blowing raspberries and turning to mush over a bub. Hopefully they're two good babysitters in the making...

Anyway, so much to do, so little time. Hope you're all well, and that you have a lovely night. Looking forward to Super Nanny? I missed it last week, so I can't wait for tonight's episode.

    Hi all

Kellee- it's funny but we were pushing Jemma to walk but I don't want Jessica to at all, LOL as if! Oh well it's out of my hands, the little bugger hasn't listened to a word I have said, and she is also just like Josh was, she finds the tiniest things and they all go in the mouth, she seems to be constantly eating something she shouldn't be.

Michelle- sounds like the party went well, hope Jay enjoyed the party with his friends. And leftovers are not a great ide are they? just something extra we have to eat LOL.
2 of my kids walked at around 11 mths and Jemma walked at 13 mths. I guess they are early but I know people who had kids walk at 9mths, I hope Jessica doesn't, I think I will bawl my eyes out.

Bon- good to hear from you, my gosh at Grace being here already. I think her and Jessica are about the same weight (going to get JEssica weighed tomorrow and we'll see), and Jessica is 8mths today. She is the smallest for her age of all of mine. With her crawling and Harry as well you must be on your toes now!

Welcome Melinda and Sarah, hope you pop in soon.

Anyway we went into Josh's grade today and the girls were very good, Jessica played with toys and eventually fell asleep in her pram, Jemma was drawing and playing puzzles and computer and then trying to help the kids with their work, it was very cute. So we are welcome to come again, which is good, so Monday mornings are helping day, tuesdays are ebay/shop day, doesn't leave many days.

Anyway must fly, hope everyone is well and bubbies are being beautiful as only they could.

    Cheers Michelle

Hi everyone, I hope you and yours are all well.
Kellee, there are only 3 bubs per lesson at Yasin's swim school by design. Its just a little school not a public pool and they divide the pool into three with an instuctor in each area who each has three kids to teach. I've figured out from your posts that your a musician (I think). What kind of music do you play?

Michelle, Its good to hear that your visit to Josh's grade went well and you're welcome back. Its great that they try and get parents involved. I remember at my school parents had to wait at the gate and they were only allowed in on special occasions.

Bon, I'm glad to hear that Grace is progressing well. Yasin is sitting around the 50th percentile too. He's still only on two meals of solids a day but I might add a third soon. Yesterdays adventure was avocado. He pulled a face on the first mouthful but then he decided that it wasn't too bad after all.

Michelle, I hope you enjoyed all the leftovers. Its good to have an excuse to eat junk food. I hope Jay enjoyed himself and got lots of lovely presents.

Did you all see super nanny last night? It was my favorite episode ever because when it was over DH was suddenly inspired to do some housework LOL.
I can hear the sounds of Yasin waking up so I geuss I'd better go - not fair!! He only went to sleep 45 minutes ago. His sleep routines are getting more and more feral. I'm beginning to think that I should call in the mother craft nurse who does the home visits because I really don't know what to do with him. For the last few days he's suddenly started to resist going back to sleep after his 11 pm feed and in the last week he's taken to screaming at the slightest provocation. I have honestly never seen a baby so hyperactive as Yasin but he used to be hyper and happy which was cool now he's hyper and grumpy which is not cool. I have a Dr's appointment tomorrow to get a lump/cyst removed so I might get a referral then. Ooops he's getting cross.....

    hi there everyone

i have been so busy the last few days am having withdrawal symptons from bb lol. welcome to bon and melinda wow 6mths goes quick doesn't it - i can't believe my dh is already starting to think about lani's 1st birthday party (a big bash it will be lol).

sorry i can't remember much what has been said - and i am just posting quickly cause all saints is on in a tik and i want to watch it lol. dachlostar, i had a few sleep issues with lani and since i introduced a rollover feed touchwood things have been better. if you want i have some routine info that was sent to me, i will forward it onto you if you like - i have found it extremely helpful.

michelle - i hear ya on doing all the motherly schooly kindery things lol - i had kinder duty yesterday and i was buggered after it lol. all the kids had to sprinkle fairy dust on me so i couldn't see or hear as they were making something special (so cute jay yelled out to me look what i made you for mothers day mummy) i had to pretend i didn't see lol.

kellee - i love the name charlie it is to cute, i have a friend whose little boy is also a harrison whom we call harry and it is lovely good choice with names their bon.

i am so tired my brain is all mushy and i have been not myself lately (have written something in the post natal dep area) hopefully i will come out of the hole i am in - doesn't help today i found out a little kid in the other kinder group has leukemia made my skin crawl and i started crying - we had a notes left for us to ask to keep our children away from kinder if they are sick etc as a child has been diagnosed with an illness and i knew straight away what it was - asked the teacher and she confirmed (i have a feeling i know who the child is but i will know more i guess when i see the person whom i am thinking about) so sad, i so know what that family are going through.

on that sad note i am going now - hope you all have a great night.

Boo HOo, wrote heaps and pushed something wrong and lost it all, I want to scream! GRRRRR!

    Ok short version:

jessica weighs 7.88kgs, 17 lb6ozs, length 66cms HC 43cms, 10th percentile height, 50th percentile weight, but she looks chunky and is so happy and healthy, I just started giving her lunch today, as she has never been a big drinker and I didn't want her to go off her bottles and the MCHN agreed with me, which made me feel good. She put on 560gms from last mth but I still can't turn the seat around, and the poor bugger, I have hit her head on the roof of the car twice in 1 day. I am goping to turn it in 2 wks. She is still about 6oogms behind my smallest bub in terms of weight but I am happy with her gain.

Michelle- how cute re Mother's day pressies and Jay yelling out to look, hope you didn't see it all or else you will have to have your best surprised look on Mother's day. LOL
Oh that poor family, I hope their child responds well to the treatment, you know how hard it is and I know it must be tough for you to hear it too, as you have been there. have you been to the drs re post natal or are you just dealing with it yourself. I know I have had some really dark days esp when fighting with DH and it can be tough to see the light. I didn't go to the drs though. Good luck with your first tooth fairy experience, I forgot last week, Jordan is used to the crappy fairy who visits our house, she has loads of excuses, lucky she only forgot one night this time and not 5. LOL

Dasch- most schools now welcome the help, esp in the early years of school, say prep to 2, it is nice to help out and see your child in that setting. I plan to go into the classroom this term and help in PMP next term (a motor skills prog), Jemma can join in too and it would be great for her. i hope Yasin settles, maybe he is just wanting more awake time now. Jessica too cries more when I put her down for her sleep about 11am but I just leave her and eventually she goes to sleep. Super Nanny was funny, that DH was pretty good at doing stuff when it came down to it. I hope he kept it up after the camera left.

Anyway gotta go check every else bf Arron gets home, he had to clean a pub tonight and is on his way home now.

    May have chocolate YUM!lOL

Grrr I just wrote a big post and then lost it!

Mooshie I am sorry you are feeling down atm, I hope you do start feeling better soon, but I know it's not always that easy. That's awful about the child at kinder. The thought of one of my babies getting sick terrifies me.

Anyway I wrote more but I can't be bothered doing it again! Better go have some lunch

yes bon having your child fall ill with something like a terminal illness just hurts so much, i cannot begin to even explain, we thought jessie had an ear infection only to be told 3 days later that she had a terminal brain tumour with only 6 - 8 wks to live - absolutely terrible.

michelle - i am hanging to get lani weighed she goes on 16th i think, she only put on 500gms in 2mths last time, this time will be interesting as she is only being breastfed for the first feed of the day now with 4 bottles of forumula during the day and a half bottle of formula at 11pm for a rollover. i too want to change the car seat over but i am guess lani will be like your jessica - a little featherweight lol - we have a falcon and they are quite low - i too have bumped heads.

this crawling business - wow haven't i forgotten - she goes and goes now and just not confined to the rumpus room she tries to come and get me in the kitchen and today she was pulling all the magazines out of the coffee table - cheeky monkey - the way she comando crawls is so cute she looks like a big slug lmao.

anway it is 4pm i have heaps to do and have spent the last 2hrs on ebay and bb (in between feeding lani etc) i have ironing to do (or hubby won't have anything to wear tommorrow) dinner to cook and cupcakes to make for kinder tommorrow as it's jay's birthday on friday and well the kids all take little cakes oh well.

don't know if i will be on again till friday maybe tommorrow arvo - can't wait for telly tommorrow night bring on the amazing race - 2hr episode yay looks like it's going to be good - have only seen the ads but those two "barbie dolls" look like they will be the silly ones this season. on the amazing race i heard a few weeks ago that someone saw them filming it in collins street, so looks like it may be coming to melbourne for a pit stop, kinda makes sense cause the host was in town doing all the radio's plugging a new book - he is a bit of a cutie i reckon.

this chatting just won't get things done - i better grab a coffee and be on with it.

    see yas.

Michelle's I think Alana will be the same as your girls with the carseat. I really want to change her around as she is twisting her neck around so she can see me in the front. Very cute but worried that if we had a car accident it would not be a good position. She doesn't get weighed for another month, but doubt she'll be near 8kg.

Mooshie thats terrible about the little kid a kindy. I could imagine it would shake you up a little.

Alana hasn't started crawling yet. In fact the girl refuses to even be on her tummy. She cries and carries on. She rolls on to her sides and will reach for toys and play with them. She might shimmy herself in a 360, but thats it. Do you think she's behind? Frank keeps telling me she will do it in her own time, like she has with everything else.

    Welcome Bon and Melinda.

Don't worry Lara about Alana not crawling, my eldest 2 didn't commando crawl till 7mths and then didn't crawl on all fours till 9mths. Thay all choose to do things when they feel like it, the joys of being a bub! LOL

And I hear you about the carseat, I am doing it in 2 weeks regardless, she is on 3 meals now and she should put on at least 250 in 2 wks so that is it , I am moving it.

    Cheers Michelle

Once again, you girls are too fast for me!

Yes, I am a musician, dachlostar. I am a pianist (jazz/blues mainly), and DH is a French hornist and composer. We’re hoping that Charlie might be interested in music too… he already knows what a piano is for. He’s been reaching up to play it while standing on his tippy toes for about a month now – it’s so cute! Then he turns around with a cheeky grin expecting applause… what a monkey! But you never know – kids will do exactly what they want to do. With my luck he’ll be a golfer or something! Also – I hear ya on the sleeping thing. Getting someone in through the day might be a good idea. We did that and have never looked back. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

Mooshie – sorry about the child at kinder. I know that it probably brings back a lot of memories for you. My thoughts are with you. You are a strong woman to have come out of this and I really admire your courage.

Lara – don’t stress about the crawling thing. I don’t think it’s really possible to “compare” one baby with another. There are so many variables – it sounds like she’s doing great anyway. Was it Alana who was starting to vocalise well? Charlie moves well but he hasn’t started “talking” – they all grow in different ways.

Sad news... I also just realised that I will only be in this forum for another week! Boo hoo...

Charlie has started to ‘copy’ us. He puts his hands in the air, shakes his head, blows raspberries and lays down with his head on the floor or high chair straight after we do. It is soooooo cute! Speaking of my little angel, someone needs to have his dinner soon and is getting sick of Mummy being on the computer, so I’d better dash. Will write later if I get a chance.

Hope all is well with you and your bubs…

    - Kellee.

    What is WRONG with me?

I just spent half an hour going through the Miscarriage and Loss forum... it was awful. Luckily I have never experienced the pain that these women have gone through and I think that they are so brave for coming out the other side ok. I think I did it was because my brother's friend had a baby last year and he died at 10 wks from some kind of heart viral thing. It was all very sudden and affected me greatly, as I was about 36 wks preg at the time. Today he would have been 1 year old. I feel so blessed that we all have our darling children and I pray that nothing bad ever happens to them.

Sorry if I put a downer on your night. I just had to share because I can't stop thinking about it.

    hi guys.

yeah kellee losing a child is terrible - i had a miscarriage before i fell pregnant with jessie - that was in 1997 i was 11wks - then what happened with jessie it has been quite hard. also that child at kinder is the one i thought it was - i asked the teacher and i said i know you can't tell me who but is it this boy and she just said i am so sorry i can't tell you (i knew she wanted to but she couldn't - i respect her for that) by the look on her face i knew i was right.

wow on charlie doing all sorts of things - they start to become real little people now don't they - my ds did a thing called mini maestro's (excuse the spelling) he loved it and i think from memory they can start from around 6-12mths - they might have that sort of thing near you - it is great for the kids.

ohh ohh ohh amazing race is just about to start i gotta type fasssssssstttt -

lara - i totally agree with kellee and michelle - don't concern yourself with alana not crawling - she will just do it one day and shock you - look at lani she still does not roll from back to front only front to back - and she was moving in a 360 like alana not long ago, that 360 creeping became commando crawling backwards then all of a sudden she can go forwards - she is so much happier to - she can explore more ARRHH.

well lolly bags are done cake is ordered and jay is in bed - can't believe he will be 5 tomorrow - hows this for sad i spent the whole time he was at kinder on bb reading through the archives of my last few mths being preg with lani and then read my birth story lol it made me so clucky i was getting all teary.

hope you all have a good night - i am a little sad at my boy being 5 i swear i can still feel the pain of his birth lol - where do the years go.

gotta go amazing race has started - 2hr episode yay

    HI girls-

I too had a mc between 2 and 3. I got to 11weeksas well Michelle and I heamorraged and it was very scary as well as physically and emotionally draining. I actually had another 2 things which I believe to have been very early mc at 2 weeks, and then I had Jemma. I still feel the loss, but I have come to terms with it. of course we have Jemma and then Jessica too so I feel very lucky.

Kellee- you are right about Charlie, he prob will go for somethng totally out of your field, kids have the tendency to do that, but maybe the prog Michelle mentioned would be good for him. When do you move up Kellee? We will miss you. I have until the 2nd of June and I just know it will fly too. just like everything else does.

I have missed most of the amazing race tonight but I don't mind as I am always more interested when there are less couples, just seems more exciting towards the middle of the show. LOL Anyway Michelle you can fill me in.

The meet up today was great, hope the next time some others can make it.

Woohoo, my new lounge suite comes tomorrow, I can't wait to sink into it and go to sleep LOL. maybe we will have to take it in turns sleeping on the couch, it's prob more comfy then the bed LOL

Anyway moving on, getting tired, I may just catch the end of the amazing race.

    See ya
