Wow that was confusing....typed out the below message, hit post and the thread was closed!!!

In regard to the expressing, I really am quite the dairy cow!
I've cut down to expressing only 2-3 times a day (hoping to dry up a bit), and I usually get about 125ml from each side (quite frustrating when you want to stop!)
When I was feeding Benjamin and expressing I would get that about 4-5 times a day, and on waking in the mornings I'd fet 260ml from each side!
We tried Benjamin again this morning and he fluffed around a bit with his boob juice, but then after a poo, and being wrapped he drank 90ml and is now settled back to sleep....
His poo (not that you all need to know this of course) was a nice squelchy one! I am so pleased!
With a bit of luck we can keep him on at least one or 2 breast milk feeds a day and that will keep the poos runny, he definately seems better on this formula (non thickened, Heinz Nurture Gold....it really goes to show how different we all are because I remember someone taking their child OFF that formula and putting them on s26 to help with poos, and I'm doing the opposite to help Benjamin.
He slept from 7:30pm til 1:15, then 1:15 to 6:30, then 6:30 til 8:30, and is now asleep again...I'm good with that!!!
Had some tummy time and held his head up a bit more than usual so thats great!

Ive had a brain wave too...because sometimes posts disappear, before hitting post reply, I copy it, then hit post, then if it doesn't work, I can just paste it into the box again! (lost too many posts in the past!)

BW - with your brainwave: I do that too (but only if it's a long post). Great idea though hey?

Janine - I thought you'd like his pic! I've heard about those Grobags, but like you, thought they're a bit dear. Maybe I'll start looking for some on Ebay... bugger on your heater being broken

Nothing new here... but we're hoping to go to a movie today (taking it in turns so one of us is home with DS) - Indiana Jones probably. Be nice to have some 'me' time!

Nettie - they say babies need one more layer than we do to be right temp for sleeping.
Beatrix - be kind to yourself re weight. You are dealing with a lot atm especially on your own. Look at it this way... it took nine months to get out of shape, give yourself nine months to get back into shape and like belle said one week at a time, cause weeks turn into months. I'm bad with the eating too and I only have 2 to deal with and DS goes to daycare 4 days a week atm.
Fire - I'm like you with the sleep, but haven't gone to the cot yet - still trying the bassinette atm, but it is so hard when they cry. We have had two really unsettled days where the only time she is sleeping is when she is carried.
I sound like Shell was earlier in the week - maybe it is just how they are at this stage.
I'm going to try to get Greer into the cot between 3-6 months, definitely don't want to be doing this constant hold thing past 5 months.
Hard to remember the rest of the posts from the last thread sorry....
I've been getting some hip pain in the last two days, almost a cramp, it is weird. Also had pain in my back after carrying Greer for about 2 hours yesterday - seemed to be at the site of the spinal block. Does anyone else get pain still from epis?
It is pooring with rain today and we have a first holy communion to go to - I don't want to be taking kids out in this weather, but we are the only family on SILs side as parents and brother are OS atm, so we have to go.
    Better start getting organised.

Nettie - I like your signature! And well done on the expressing, you should be really proud of yourself. I?m still on the Motilium and am frankly quite scared to wean myself off it in case my supply drops.

Sharon - good to hear about Oliver?s gain and growth.

Sarah - Baxter is almost 10 weeks old I don?t have AF yet. I bled for 2 weeks then nothing. I really don?t want it to stay away for too long, I think we will TTC#2 when Baxter turns one. Tubby tummy hey, I hear you! I joined Weight Watchers Online on Monday and have done quite well I think. Tomorrow is weigh in day so I will report back then.

Steph - My mum is only 90 minutes away but my sister lives in London, it?s hard having close family so far away. Do you speak much? Has she seen Lila yet?

Janine - I have a Grobag Egg and I?m surprised my how cool the room is when it?s yellow (recommended temp), temp is then between 16 and 20 degrees.

Nessa - how?s it all going? I hope DH has the older girls sometimes.

Mgm - I?ve been meaning to ask for ages...what?s your DD?s name?

Grubi - yes, I think I?ve been getting some pain at my epi site. But only when I lay in bed.

Not much going on here, went to visit my parent?s for the weekend which was nice and relaxing. Going to make some low fat banana muffins today and take some pics of Baxter for his thankyou cards.

I guess the thing that I am struggling with is that I still have to have Baxter wrapped to feed him. I?ve tried a few times but he gets really distressed and pushes off. I can?t imagine having to wrap a 9 month old to feed him. Hopefully he will grow out of it?? *sigh*

    Have a great Sunday all.

Whilst trying to find something appropriate to wear for this holy communion and the weather, I too have become very disheartened, not necessarily with my weight, (although I have 6kg still to loose) but definitely with my shape. Those hips and tummy look terrible. I don't want to be seen in anything but my loose comfy c-section clothes
Got to stop being lazy and start being dilligent both in how I look after myself and my baby. Let's see if I can actually go without buying any of the bad foods this week. I tried last week to cut back, but just ended up going to the shops for the bad foods the next day
On the good side weather permitting I am starting to go for walks with the pram, so hopefully I can tackle this disheartening shapes sooner than later. I want to fit into the pants and skirts in my wardrobe - the prepregnancy ones.

Alittlegrubbi - i keep trying to not eat bad stuff too, then caleb cries for a while or keeps waking up and i get something nice to eat... clasic comfort eating!!

I can fit into most of my prepregancy clothes, but i was 5kg over weight when i got prego, so have about 8kg to loose still. And the jelly belly looks bad in most of them...

Shoegal - it's Rosa. And I finally got around to getting a ticker with a photo.

Now to get her to stop crying and go to sleep... Have a good night everyone!

Steph, your family situation sounds like mine!
I'm in Melbourne, mum dad and big bro all live in various parts of Geelong, and my beautiful sister lives in London....I'm DYING for her to come home and meet Benjamin.
We (BJ, my mum and I) were going to fly over and surprise her, but the night we made the decision to go, BJ's Angelcare went off and we had a hard time waking him, freaked myself and DH out and we decided we weren't going anywhere, especially since DH wasn't coming!

BJ had a weird evening and night last night, we went to see a friend and normally (even though nobody puts baby in a corner), BJ would sleep in a corner, but our friends 8 month old is a squealer, so as soon as he dropped off, something would happen, bubby would scream and awake would be BJ.
He dozed on and off but not enough. Got him home, topped him up and he went to sleep after about 15 minutes of unsettledness (not like him since stopping the zantac), then woke at 11:30, 3am and 6:30 (and finally 8) for feeds...he's just gone back down.
    Mind you, he shouldn't need food...he had 500ml between 3pm and 8pm last night, then 50ml at 11:30, 150ml at 3, 140ml at 6:30, and at 8, 140ml formula, and about 60 of EBM!!!
    GUTS!

time to go tidy the house a little, my mum, her best friend and my Auntie are coming today!!!

BW, like those in the know keep telling me, bfed babies can feed hourly sometimes for no apparent reason, hence why only ff babes suit a schedule. even though BJ is on some EBM, there is so much we don't understand about breastmilk yet, that he probably derives some biological or chemical comfort from that milk. they only just discovered stem cells are in BM - a friend sent me the science article a month ago! we don't know ***** about the stuff really, so i would bet there is something put in there by nature that makes it very lovely for babies to eat, expressed or not. I was told not to think of it as food, but as an action I do. Not easy though when I know he's full as a goog! Ci eats all night after midnight, pukes if he eats too much. last night though, he only fed at 1, 4 and 5.30! which is really weird cos the all you can eat buffet is right in his face all night - how could he resist? (and he usually doesn't!)

    MGM, soooooo cute!

Feeling edgy and want out of the house today. I also want to buy a pram for beach walks. So I'll see if I can check those two items off and call it a good day.

    Hi to all!

Help, my breastmilk is pink. Makes me feel ill to look at it. It doesn't hurt, and apparently won't hurt Lila to feed it to her but its so gross. I started flaxseed a few days ago and early this morning I felt like I did when my milk first came in. Probably has something to do with it. I'm just really freaked out by it, irrationally so, has this happened to anyone else?

I don't know anything about that, Steph, but I found this: Funny Milk

and this: blood in pumped breast milk

In my little search there, I found these bottles, anyone heard of them or used them? They look like a good breastfeeding bottle. I also noticed tommee tippee has a breastfeeding bottle too.

Steph - are you sure you dont have cracked nipples? Most things I've read suggest when your milk is pink it is blood mixed in. having said that though, my Bf is a midwife and she says that milk can come in some strange colours and still be perfectly normal. Shes seen plenty of blue milk....ewwwww.

We are going ok here, but I'm just not getting enough sleep. Jack seems to have been re-set by the vaccinations. The gastro one has made his poos really stinky, anyone else had that? Also hes started waking to feed every hour after midnight, hence the lack of sleep. Besides that hes a very happy, smily and seemingly contented bubs.

As for the weight loss thing... i'm a shocker. I have 5kg to loose to be at my pre-preg weight, but would really like to loose 10 all up. The only problem is I'm comfort eating like mad! Chocolate, cheese... all the bad stuff. Thanks to breastfeeding though I'm not putting anything on.

Thanks ladies... I feel really queasy when I look at it, but it doesn't hurt in the slightest and apparently is ok to give to her. I don't know if I can bring myself to. Just so gross. Gah. Its called "rusty pipes" and has to do with my milk coming in and breaking capillaries. My breasts feel like they did when my milk came in before, do not doubt the power of flaxseed oil. Wowee.
I've been using the Tommee Tippee back to nature bottles, they work well. I think that using them has something to do with how relatively easy it is to get Lila back on the breast. Still not completely there yet, mostly due to my own laziness and fear of getting cracked nipples again... When it hurts to nurse her I start to really resent her and I just don't even want to go there again. I love my little bear.

Leyla- same thing happened to us here after vax. I thought we had a decent rhythm going then bam, back to no sleep. Things have worked themselves out though... As for weight loss- I didn't gain any extra weight with the baby so I was pretty much back to normal a week after the birth... I have put on a little weight sine though, I'm always craving fat and sugar. I found it to be helpful to make a huge pot of thick nutritious soup every few days and have it there in the fridge. That with some toast is quick and I'm satisfied and not eating too many bad calories and wasting money on junk...

Nettie- I go by the "one more layer" rule and also you can feel his tummy, its a good gauge of how warm or cold he is. Works for us. You can do a quick google search for grobags and there's a place from the UK that will ship them, even with exchange rates and shipping costs its cheaper than buying them in the shops here. About $50. And a huge range. Of course, I discovered them after I bought one for $85 here at a local shop. D'oh.

SG and BW- Thanks, it really is hard sometimes to have her so far away. And my friends. Sometimes I wish they all lived nearby and could drop by to help me a little, have a chat and a bit of sanity. DH's family are wonderful, his MIL was there for the labor and birth and helped out after for a week. But they're not "my people" you know? I talk to everyone via skype/webcam, but the connection here is a lot slower than the one over there so it is usually pretty rough trying to get it going and we revert to just talking usually.

SG- I kind of wish Lila would still let me wrap her to feed. She's such a nice little package that way. She wriggles and grunts and worms her little arms out every time so they can flail around. Last night she was on her tummy and wriggled completely out of everything- wrap, nappy, cover and all. was quite pleased with herself, kicking her feet around with no pants on...

Janine- Do you manage to get out of the house much? Sometimes when I think Im losing my mind the most I stick Lila in the sling or the pram and go for a walk, it kind of resets everything. Do you live in the country or the city? Part of what I enjoy about the walks are people cooing over her. Not the idiotic advice, but I take it all with a grain of salt so its funny.

Hope everyone is doing well and getting a little sleep. Lila broke habit and was up at 4am today, back down at 5.30 and back up at 8. I was so upset over the pink milk, I woke DH up at 6 in near hysterics. Then when she woke up he took her for a few hours, dong all the morning stuff so i could sleep. He's so lovely. And he got to see her at her charming morning best, she's really so sweet when she first gets up.

Well girls I am pleased to tell you that I lost 1.1kg this week. 5.4 to get back to pre-preg weight, and I like to lose another 2 on top of that, so not a great deal, but enough to make me feel comfortable again in my clothes.

Janine - we use the TT Close to Nature each night for Baxter's top up feed each night and had no probs in him reverting to the breast. I'll start him on the medium flow teat when he gets to 3 months.

    Hi guys,
Ive been so lucky with the weight...I can't believe it...I think it has something to do with my abundance of milk!
I only put on 6 kilos through pregnancy, and then I lost that within week one, and now I weigh about 4 kilos less that I did when I got pregnant....of course once I'm not making milk anymore, I'll pile it back on..
Though I don't know about everyone else, but my appetite died during pregnancy, and it just hasn't come back!

Benjamin had a mucked up night last night (as I posted before), and has as a result of visitors today his sleeps are a bit crazy, finally for him to have 2 hours with limited grunty interruptions, and then did a nice bit poo!
He just had a FF and has been soooo chatty and gorgeous that we stopped the movie we were watching so we could both talk to him!!!
Hopefully he'll settle again soon, and I can iron some shirts for DH for work and then have some sleep too.
