    Hello again from Norway!

    Hi Everyone,

Long time no post! It's just taken me about an hour to read all the posts to catch up!

Most of you sound like you are doing it tough. I feel almost guilty that I have had such an easy run so far.

My mum has been here since the day before Beth was born. She accurately predicted months ago that my little one would arrived on the 20th as this was my great grandma's birthday. She would have turned 100.

Mum has been so helpful. I have barely washed a dish or an item of clothing since she arrived and I have only cooked for pleasure not for necessity. Dad arrived Saturday last week and it's been lovely watching him bond with Beth. I never grew up with any grandfathers so I hope that he and my FIL are around for a long time so she gets to have some quality pop and poppa time.

They head back to Australia on Wednesday, however DH and I have had our first taste of life on our own as they have spent this weekend in London with friends. But as lovely has it has been having them around I am looking forward to settling into my new life with just the three of us. It still feels very surreal!

Beth really is quite an angel. She feeds every 3-4 hours and breastfeeding has been quite easy for me so far (touch wood) which I am thankful for. She is unsettled from between 9 pm but and likes to be walked around but generally she is asleep by midnight. She then wakes for a feed around 3 ish but goes to sleep very easily and only wants one boob. Day feeds she now has both.

She is so alert when she is awake and loves to look around. She hates lying in her pram and much prefers to be be upright. Her neck is really strong and she already has so much deliberate movement.

Hmm just realised that I could go on and on about her.....LOL I bet all us new mums are the same!

Anyway, am well, am very happy and am looking forward to sharing the upcoming highs (and lows) with you all.

There are photos of Beth on our website for those who are interested.
    Elisabeth Suzanne

Less than 13 weeks until we are back in Australia!!

    Erin

PS I hope to do personals next time, but for now I am off to bed.

Well, thankfully I can say the past few days have been better with the kids, though I got Lily's bug night before last and was vomiting and had high fevers all night, not pleasant! Lil's still pretty sick too with fevers and conjunctivitis, poor little bear. Liam has slept better the past few nights which is good I would have gone insane with sleep deprivation other wise!
Ok gotta go and do some house work while it's quiet....

Oh Erin im so glad you said something so positive...i too am having a wonderful time with Thomas but didnt want to say anything while others seemed to be having such a tough time. Thomas is a very "good" baby. I know he feeds through the night but never have a clue how many times or how long inbetween as i stay asleep I have tried everything to say awake LOL but we just end up asleep together, its lovely. Eve comes in at some stage, normally around 1am and grace at about 6 but we all stay asleep til 8! Thomas has one unsettled time a day but hay.... i just let him feed, and feed and feed... then bath then feed then his gone.

It has only taken me three weeks but im back to talking about that 4th LOL

Hi girls, sorry no chance of me catching up on personals at the moment. Very warn out here, Tobias has hardly slept today, last night was ok although I was up with him between 2:30 & 4am as he wouldn't settle after his bottle for some reason grrrrrrr. Today he is grizzly & fights going to sleep with his big eyes instead of sleepy eyes. He's asleep now so I'm trying to rest on the lounge a bit before velcro boy wakes again, I should be doing the dishes though.

I booked his circumcision for Monday the 29th Sept. I knew it would cost money but $500?!? Apparently you get $90 back from medicare.... woopdi-doo! So now all of a sudden we need to come up with $500 in 2 weeks as he has to have it done by 6 weeks of age & he'll be 6 weeks on the day he gets it done. Oh well, at least it will be over & done with, although I'm sooooooooooo not looking forward to him crying from it I almost dont want to be there but I also want to be able to comfort him afterwards....

We went to the opening of the school our kids will be attending last Sunday. It's just had 4.9 million dollars worth of renovating. They just built a whole new school really LOL. It looks great & DD is so excited to be going to that "big school" come 2010, so it will only be a year old when she starts there.

My doctor called me the other day saying that the swab they took from my right nipple shows an infection & germs growing there so I need to go in & get some anti-biotics for it. It's awful & hurts so much! I must find the time to get in there & get the meds.

Once again sorry for no personals. I hope you're all well.

Milly dont feel bad about feeling so good, you have every right to feel good & we're all happy for those of you having a smooth & happy time with your new bubs. As our bubs are getting older now, hopefully there'll be more of us settling into life with a new baby & feeling great aswell soon.

PS look at my new AV! My glasses are gone though as they dont have a baby wearing av with glasses LOL

    Hiya girls,

Well we have had an ok few days, except Lily is still sick. My poor little monkey is so lethargic and just wants mumma. All I have done with her today is sit on the lounge and watch tv, we've seen In the night garden 3 times already and now I'm watching Humphery. She vomitted in her bed again last night and it was everywhere, in her hair and blankets, ugh!! I was so trying hard not to vomit all over her. I managed not to thank goodness, but it was close a few times. I had to sponge the vomit out of her hair cause she went psyco if we went near the bath, ohh it was so disgusting!! We're going to the dr's again if she still has no energy tomorrow. We've been twice already with the same thing....
Liam has been ok. Still not going to sleep very well but in saying that he had a 4hr sleep from 10.30 this morning...I wish he'd sleep like that at night! My boobs were busting though, they're used to being emptied every 2, 2 1/2hrs at the most! He has a few really unsettled times in the day. It is all still really varied, he has no flow to the day at all. His body clock must be really stuffed up!

Ok gotta go he's calling me....

Danielle - geez $500 that is absurd and only $90 back - I agree woppdi - do ... hope the antibiotics clear things up for you huin - sounds very painful and not nice at all ... the things we go through hey ! We need to arrange a catch up too ... maybe we could arrange a group catch up with all the SYD based mums and bubs if anyone else is interested !

Kell - would love to meet up hun will sms you and we can arrange a time when Lily is feeling better and you are more up to visitors ... Glad to hear LIam had a better night but not good at all about Lily ...

Milly - yay on Thomas being a good bub ... I think Ali is pretty good as well but I agree it is heart wrenching hearing how tough everyone is having it at the moment I really feel for you all ... but glad someone is doing well !

Erin - good to hear from you and glad that things are going well. Enjoy the time with your mum and you and your DH are lucky you have experience alone time ... I crave that at the moment but know all good things come to those who wait !!!

Niamh - sounds like things are going well for you too and good to hear that Eireann's belly button is better ... I dont think it would matter what # bub it was you still go through the same angst with each one in terms of hurting them ... just shows how much we love them !

Kristi, Lea, Belinda - hope you are all doing ok !

We are doing well. Yesterday Ali had her first sleeps in her big cot in her own room. I managed to catch the tired signs and put her in her cot just before she really went to sleep and she put herself to sleep properly and had two big cot sleeps so I am stoked.

Today we went to Mothers Group and went through the introductions etc .. there are 9 mums in my group and I went to lunch with two of them and one only lives a 10 min walk form me which will be nice to have someone else nice and close ...

Other than that we have Ali's 6 week check up tomorrow and my 6 week check. Although I drove today and got myself and Ali out and about with no one - felt weird but then I felt all empowered and in control and it was just Ali and me and I managed to do it so I felt pretty good with myself first trip out by ourselves and all !!!

Hope everyone having better days ...

Thinking of you all and big hugs to everyone

Daneille_M - Hope the antibiotics fix things up really quickly. Can be nothing worse than having sore "bits" and those "bits" are being used so frequently. I had a few blood blisters and grazes and that was painful enough let alone what I can only imagine you are experiencing.

Kristi, Lea, Belinda - hope you are all doing ok !

Mel We are doing good thanks. Had a better day today. Our weekend was really good but Monday/Tuesday were not so great. Glad to hear Ali had her sleeps in her cot, big step and sounds like you approached it really well.
Glad mothers group went off without any trouble.

US - As for us we had an unsettled Monday and Tuesday. My milk supply dropped off again and I didn't respond as quickly to the motillium as I did the first time. Chloe was not sleeping or when she would sleep it had to be on me. As soon as I put her in the cradle she would scream her heart out so I resorted to co-sleeping with her Monday night after she went till 2.30am screaming. Last night I had nothing to feed her and she was pulling and tugging like it was an empty bag. Luckily I had some expressed so I fed her with that and sure enough she crashed out at around 10am. She woke at 7am this morning and to my surprise I woke up looking like dolly parton so she has been super happy today. I think she may have had a little growth spurt to just make the situation more fun but has been all good today. I've been expressing when i could and have a good 100ml in waiting should i need it.

We've also managed two very successful bath sessions. Chloe had previously screamed during her baths, all except 1 in hospital. But our last 2 baths have been really good with no screaming and her appearing to enjoy laying in the water.

Anyway I better be going, Chloe due for feed soon and then it's off to bed for what I hope is another 8-9 hour sleep.

ok .. i dont like hearing how sick kellie and family have been ... i really hope you all recover soon ... just rest up kel, and try and get some rest and new dvd's !!

well , i havent been "sleep deprived" as such but with gabriella being really fussy and nixon chucking a million tanties a day i have been really stressed .. a few days back gab fed every 30 mins in the evening and woke screaming through the night .. i jsut had to feed her , but then she has bad wind so she was inconslable (sp) and i was getting stressed , to top it off the next day DH hurt his back and was unable to move so i had to pick up the slack and do everything ... that night gabby had a crying fit and wanted to feed allll the time , so i tried to express and about 15mls each side came out .... and each feed she would suck so hard then cry so i thought i must be low on milk .... before i went to bed i took maxalon went to bed and tried to realx but ended up with panic attacks , a sure sign i am taking on waay to much ... i hope this doesnt turn in to ocd and pnd again ... but im not sure if it was the maxalon that gave me the panic attacks , but im not taking it again to find out!!

in the end i gave into dh's pressure to get formula so i sent my mum to get some of the RTD formula , i didnt want to get a whole tin so i got the popper ones .. and gave her some at the last feed before bed .. she didnt take the whole feed only about 60mls .. but that was enough to fill her up and clam down .. the next day and ever since she has been settled .. it was soo good to see her awake and not crying .. it may have just been a growth spurt.. she also has conjuctivitis...

so for now i am feeding from the right and expressing the left as her hungry days left it soo sore .. by i have some milk in the fridge a freezer and will get a to up of ebm before bed jic ...

i can not get gab to sleep in the cradle so for now the velcro girl is in the bed still , (danielle , gabriella is made of velcro too !!!!)

Lea - glad to hear the formula settled Gab down .. we do the same with Ali of a night and her last feed for the evening is always a formula feed and she is so much more settled and contented ... How id DH back doing now? Things sound so hectic for you and I hope that you can ease the stress you are under atm hun ....

Belinda - glad to hear that the supply is back and what sounds like in good form too! Growth spurts indeed when Ali had hers she was always feeding and screaming but now she has settled a bit ... by the way we ran into Antoinette's husband today at the hospital and they had a little baby boy ... He is taking 8 weeks off work to help her out and they had him Monday afternoon just after midday I think ... we think Sharon went home yesterday as they had seen her in hospital still so there is only Tanya and Gianni left now !

Well today we had Ali's 6 week check and Im pleased to say she has been given a perfect bill of health with no problems. Now I just need the same clearance at my check tomorrow ... she has been the best little bubba today just looking around when awake and not really screaming or whinging much at all .. maybe the 6 week turnover is around!

Had to laugh though as when he pulled her off the scales she peed on the floor as he was carrying her back to the bed and she did a huge poop right before we took her in .. I was just praying she didnt pee or poop all over him .... but she is now 4.3kg so she had put on 1 kilo in the 6 weeks since she was born so looks very healthy and very long!

Hope everyone having a good day today and had a good night ... Kell I am sending and your way that all sicknesses in your household are getting much better hun ... xox

    Hi girls,

I am SO not getting much time to come in here and keep up with you lot yet. I guess 6 kids SHOULD do that to me by now though hey

Welcome Tasha, my name is Kristi, mum to 6 kids aged 8 and under. I used to be here alot, but since having #6 im not here as much because i am still trying to get with the program. You are most welcome to join in here and congratulations on your new addition

We are trying to sort out Chardonnay and figure out if she is lactose intolerant or has reflux. I took her to the CHN on tuesday, we are going weekly at the moment to watch her weight because my last 2 babies have been failure to thrive, and so my CHN can stop me from falling in a pit like i did last time. She is such a supportive and caring CHN, i am very lucky to have her. Anyway, C got weighed and she weighs 3.37kg now. Shes still in 0000 clothes. CHN said she is very strong and has the neck control of a 6 to 8 wk old baby. C is starting to have more awake time now, and i have gotten a smile in response to my voice a few times now.

The kids have really embraced her, which is excellent and they are extremely helpful.

DH goes back to work on tuesday, so its back to reality very soon for me. I have my endoscopy on monday.

The last week has been a bit rough because tuesday was the 3 yrs since i gave birth to my precious angel Rubee Cait who i lost at 18wks and had at 19wks 6 days. Every year the week leading up to the day is always a bit rough, but generally the actual day is ok. Its a bitter sweet week for us, having her bday on the 16th and our wedding anniversary on the 19th.

So its our wedding anniversary tomorrow and DH has just told me he is taking me to a nice restaurant tomorrow night, so that will be lovely.

Im still breast feeding C but with low supply i have to top her up with formula.

Finally, i am starting to feel human again and i figured out why. I came off my antidepressants on monday and am now more "with the program". So many things have settled down since stopping the antidepressants, i didnt realise how much they were affecting me physically. The only thing now is im going to get into trouble from my drs for coming off and the OCD is probably going to get worse, but what can i do? I need to be able to function for my kids and i need to be able to concentrate enough to drive safely (which the ad's were affecting my alertness).

    Sorry for no personals again.

I hope you are all doing well and babies are thriving

We are trying to sort out Chardonnay and figure out if she is lactose intolerant or has reflux.
Kristi, same here , gab is extremly windy and is in pain when ever she lays on her back and always screams after a feed and spews heaps too ... and she has gained weight but last weigh she was still under 4 kgs ( which was a week ago) next week when i take her to the chn i will see about it then .. i always seem to get her settled and then she off again , and my boobs are so sore from her sucking .. also too i wanted to come off my A/D but i started to get panic attacks the other night so i have kept taking them ...its good that you feel a bit more normal now .. i think i have gotten used to the numbness you end up feeling on antidepressants that i think if i went off them and started to feel normal and didnt have the control of my emotions , i would go crazy all over again

last night i gave her a top up of ebm ( which she has right after a b/f as she was still so hungry) and she took 50mls and was calm ... but she didnt go too sleep and dh was holding her (i was in bed ) so he dumped her in with me because he really wanted to play xbox i didnt mind though he needs down time too ... so i fed her (again) and off to sleep we went ... she didnt wake till 4.30 when her farting woke me up and did a huge poop which woke her up ... then i couldnt get back to sleep ... then nixon was screaming so i went into him but he was still asleep so it must have been a nightmare.... so i layed awake planning all the things i have to do today and now that i am up i dont feel like doing any of them

well its not good news about DH's back ... he has bulging dics all along his lower back and sadly has a degenerative disease im so sad as he his my rock and i always have known him to be super healthy ...

but with treatment he can maintain his lifestyle....

well i have planned a huge party for the 19th oct .. it will be for welcoming Gabriella and nixons 2nd bday and on the same day will be both their naming ceremonies ...
i am so excited about it .. orderd the invites and now just have to think about the catering .. woolies do huge platters of mini wraps and finger foods and are only about $34.95 each so it seems like a good price ... i want no fuss food .. we usually do bbq's but this time i want simplicity and no mess to wash up ... everything will be recyclable .. well most of it anyway ... i have chosen a theme of green and white as green is a unisex coulor and white on an octobers day sould look really nice .. the green will be a nice lime green ...

only one month to go ... im pretty excited about this !!

    Hi ladies,

Ohh, thanks for the well wishes girls.

Well things are looking a bit better here. Lily seems to be on the mend, no vomit or fever for a day and a half....fingers crossed its all good. Sucky thing is though I have woken with a sore throat and Liam's nose is really stuffed up...fingers crossed it all stops there!!
We are going to Canberra to visit some friends today so I'm hoping everything stays good. We're staying for the weekend, our first trip away dince Lily was born!! Should be interesting. I'm hoping the drive is good too, only 3hrs, so not too long, but we'll see. 3hrs is forever when you have 2 screaming babies in the car! We might go to Floriade and the war memorial while we're there. I've never been. I'm looking forward to getting out of this sick house!

Lea and Kristi, I think Liam is sensitive to dairy too. I have just stopped having it. I got some soy milk. It might have helped. I had chocolate the other night and OMG!! We had a terrible night with him. I'm not game enough to try to reintroduce dairy in case there's a repeat of that night. We had a great night last night, just his 3hrly wakes for a feed and straight back to sleep, YAYYYYY!! First time since hospital that we haven't been awake half the night.

Ok gotta go and finish packing to be ready for rest time, hopefully they'll both sleep the whole way ther....I think that might be wishful thinking though!

    I hope everyone is well.

    Hi,

Lea and kell, sounds like our little ones are having the same issues with milk and feeding. Chardonnay fusses and fidgits, wakes easily, will scream in pain when shes sound asleep, seems to want to be upright or on me or in her swing, vomits ages after a feed, gags and vomits, gets a snuffly nose. She brings up her wind easily though so that directs me away from looking at colic and more at LI or reflux. She has a large amount of reflux symptoms, but she can have times where she is settled, so im just not sure. She seems to have improved a little on the LF formula, but still doing the same things. My CHN said to monitor her and we will try and figure out whats going on with her.

Lea- IKWYM about getting used to the numb feeling on AD's, in a way its sort of good to be a bit like that. Well i think so with how anxious and wound up i get. Its a hard situation for me, i seem to react to all AD's with bad side effects but they help me with my anxiety, unfortunately the side effects get so much that i cant stay on them. Like they cause me to get the shakes badly, or affect my mental alertness or sleep. They had me on zoloft just now, tmi but i have had diarrhoea for a month non stop, now ive stopped taking them, the diarrhoea has stopped. They were also causing me to not sleep hardly at all and affecting my mental alertness. I would see/hear things but they wouldnt register for a long time making my reaction time slow. When driving, this is extremely dangerous and i cant put my kids in danger like that. Now i am off them, all these things have settled. I dont know what to do, to do CBT for my OCD i need to be on AD's to be calm enough to challenge my compulsions. Sorry to hear about your DH's back, that sounds painful for him. YAY on the party you are planning, it sounds like lots of fun, gorgeous colours you have picked, i love that green

kell- I am SO pleased to hear you had a good night last night with Liam and that the sickness in your house looks to be shifting, its about time you got a break. Have a good time in Canberra, i hope the kids are good on the trip.

Milly- Thanks for your thoughts, i really appreciate it. YAY on DH finishing his training, thats excellent!!

Look!! I managed to get personals done !! The first time in over a month i think.

    Have a good weekend girls

hello everyone thanks for making me feel welcome
My baby had bad reflux so I was told by my GP to put her on S26 AR , that stopped the spewing but made her badly constipated and was awful to mix up...too thick and she also had trouble burping but after struggling on that for a week a friend told me about novalac AR which we are finding fantastic she burps, poops and can finish a bottle in about 10 minutes instead of the hour it was taking with the other stuff.
sounds like everyone is very busy at the moment
its great to read your posts Ive picked up some great hints
    bye for now

Can only make this quick as a storm is getting closer by the minute.

Finished a quilt for Thomas today, floor size its so cute (so a but bigger than cot size). Different after getting so "pink" for the last 4 years....Weird not to have a fairy on it LOL. Will take a photo and put it on FB.

    Hope you are all well,
