I would love to see Simon put the kids to bed on his own.. I wonder how he would have coped last night.. I was feeling highly stressed and I had to make a decision between kids. I know I could have prob left Olivia to cry while I dealt with Jacob but then in the long run Olivia would have been fouler for longer then kwim? So I made the smartest decision..
Anyways Ethan and I are going to go out for a while. Olivia is asleep and the other 2 boys don't want to come.. yay
Have a lovely time with Ethan, enjoy the peace. And take as long as you can before coming home
IKWYM i had that on Wed - cant afford for DP to take time off work atm so had to decide between my sick DS & my tired DD - i picked tired cause then i could give all my time (for 45mins ) to DS.
I ended upi going out with the 2 older boys.. We were gone for about an hour.. It was nice to get out of the house!
today has been heaps better though. jacob has a sore ear now.. *sigh* and I ran out of panadol and the chemists are closed so a friend is dropping some over.
nic - i hope Jacobs ear get better, poor thing
Had a very boring day here, its too cold to go outside.. brr... ash wasnt sleeping at all this morning kept getting woken up, but fell asleep in my arms for 3hours tonight... my butt was numb and my dvd stopped so i was sitting there starring at a black screen for 30mins before he woke up. i soooo didnt want to wake him. hes been playing like crazy since so i know hes much happier after that!
well its 6.30 and i soo could crawl up in bed..... hmmmm might just do that.. hehe
Jacobs ear seemed to come good and I am so stupid.. I have 2 different brands of panadol for the boys and I gave Jacob the wrong dose.. Thank goodness i underdosed but no wonder he was sore.
(we had 2 brands cus we were given same bottes of panadol brand but we buy chemists own)
Hi all,
Ohh a new thread again We are big have-a-chats aren't we?
Nic- I would have been super cranky if I were you. Men, pffft. Dh is still in bed today, he went out late last night. Can't complian too much but, he did babysit for me so I could go to the lingerie party without Ty. I spent the arvo expressing and managed to squeeze out enough for a feed... which Ty had exactly 20 mls of
We had a bit of a scare here last night. Ty did a big, runny green poo with mucus all through it. And the mucus all had little strands of pinkish blood through it. We raced up to the emergency ward and waited two hours to be seen by a doctor who had no idea what was worng. He said Ty might be getting gastro (please God I hope not!). I took the nappy with us and they took a sample from it- I felt sorry for the doctor at that stage, it was a massive bad smelling poo- and sent it away for testing. We get the results back on Tuesday. Poor little man. he seems fine- no temp and still his happy little self, apart from a bit of a sniffle and a cough. But I am very worried
ETA- Nic, that is fantastic news about your friends bub
Nic - well ummmm yessss i went to bed at 6.30 LOL Ash always goes to sleep when ever i go which im very lucky for but oohh did i cop it for going that early... he played in bed for a while... kept fanning the blankets and pulling the pillow over his face.. i thought he had to tire out sooner or later... but i just lied there enjoying him playing happily and he adventually just rolled over and was out! but the bugga woke up at 5am.. I know i had it coming... so we were watching cartoons till 7am and he zonked again.. the time he would 'normally' wake up. and its 11.30am now and hes back down again so thats good. Naughty mummy tho, going to bed when SHE feels like it LOL
Lori - i have seen mucus in Ashs poos before, i didnt like seeing it but he was fine, i think i might of seen tiny dot of blood, i kept an eye on him and no temps or anything. I would just keep a close eye, try not to stress, but i hope the results come back as all fine! i know its not nice seeing things like that.
Ash is seeing the chiro tomorrow.. i sooo hope it helps, one of the girls in my mothers group said it helped her son in the car seat too and he was a screamer also, so im hoping itll do the 'works' for ash. If his tummy doesnt get better by this im seriously thinking of taking him to a pediatrician. I dont feel right him waking in the middle of EVERY night crying with wind issues and i have to sit him up and across my lap so he can go back to sleep again...which is does pretty good but his tummy should be alot stronger by now.. and i havent even gone all out on the solids yet, that i now need serious reasurance to do because im too affraid ill make things worse!
Does anyones bubs back crack wen you pick them up? if Ash is sitting on the floor and i pick him up his spine cracks.. ????
Lauren - We dont have any cracking noises here so cant help on that one. Let us know if the chiro helps Ash with the car as Vicky is starting to have major issues being in the car
Lori - If Ty has had a stuffy nose or cold that may be why there is mucous in his poos and the blood if its only the once normally wouldn't mean anything much but that said when Alex had the salmonella he had similar symptoms. I hope for both of you that it is nothing.
Nic - We use the chemists brands too, but i keep each kids medicines in separate containers in the fridge, cause some of the bottles look identical. Glad to hear Jacob is on the improve.
Well Vicky has started crawling backwards as of yesterday so mummy is going to have to watch her with Alex's toys. And she started last night singing - lalalalalala and giggling though that might be because she knows im trying to get her off to sleep...little rascal.
We are stuck at home today as we loaded into the car this morning and *clunk* fanbelt crapped itself and im really peeved as we only bought the car last weekend and we cant get anything done on it until tomorrow cause of the warranty and that means DP has to have a day of work so we lose a days pay as hes self employeed - so not happy
morgan - wat a pain! i cant believe you just brought it! your lucky you only just got in the car tho! i had a fan belt go on me when i was driving and was turning a corner and lost control, almost hit a fire hydrant! but lucky it just popped off not snap! that was scary!
Ash is going backwards in his crawling too. so funny to watch... hes doing well if he wants something in front of him he can slide himself forward if hes determind enough.
Buzzie - Yes with the back cracking. I thought I was hearing things, I have my little gilr booked into a Cranial Osteo in a week and a half but I'll love to hear what your Chiro says about it.
I thought I was loosing my mind and hearing things.
Same here with the cracking sounds.. All my kids have done it actually.. I used to think they had broken a bone as sometimes it sounds so loud.. Mainly though I can just feel it..
Had a pretty decent day here just a nice Sunday
Jacob is really on the mend. No panadol needed. He slammed his door open tonight though and his door handle went right through the wall **sigh** Dang! He was just running down to bed.. and was excited..
Olivia is all good. We started using eye drops in her eyes that we got from the chemist.. My milk wasn't cutting it. We felt they were getting worse. Only using them twice a day though and doing a mild salt wash a few times a day and still using BM. We seemed to have got on top of it tonight.. Poor thing woke crying last night cus her eyes were partially glued shut and then she screamed cus I had to clean them...
Have a bit more shopping to do tomorrow.. shoes and hair cuts..
Hi ladies,
Nic- Happy 8 months Olivia Rose!! Yucky with the conjuntivits (sp?), the poor little possum. Hope she feels better soon.
Lauren- We haven't had any crackage for a while, but when Ty was a newborn everything used to crack- his back, shoulder and ankles. He grew out of it by about 8 weeks.
Morgan- What a massive pain in the bum!! Hope you get it fixed with no dramas.
No more bloody poos as yet. Crossing my fingers that it was just a once off. Ty is obsessed with pushing onto his knees now he's learnt how to do it... oh dear I can see the crawling coming on soon and I am scared... just when I got used to life as it was!!
Hi everyone, just got back from the chiro. Ash's left sholder is jammed in the socket and not rotating properly along with one of the bones in his neck.. My poor little bubba! He even showed me him rotating the two sides and i couldnt believe the difference! said thats prob why he hates being strapped in the car, he also had a bone in his right leg that had been squashed, would of happened whilst i was pregnant. Aparently its common but can effect there walking, but also easy to fix. So hes having 3 treatments and hopefully all that should fix it but he said his spine was ok so not really anything he could focus on to help with wind even tho all the nerves connect somehow so well have to wait and see but im on stict no caffine.. AAGhhh my chocolate! and if theres still issues NO dairy!! my life is gonna be soo borring... Plus i have to go on probiotics for 8 weeks to help his gut, apparently something doesnt happen to c/sect babies guts as vaginally birthed babies so miss out on some good bacterias. Fingers crossed all this does something!
Hey Lauren, I'm glad you got to the chiro. Don't worry, Ella was vaginal birth & I'm taking probiotics as well. I also have to avoid lots of caffeine. if you look up what's recommended for diet for people with irritable bowel syndrome, that's pretty much what you want to be following (I'm supposed to for Ella too): avoid sugar, alcohol, caffeine especially. I went off dairy, and I was surprised I feel much better too! It's worth it. and I actually lost weight because there's a lot of food that has dairy in it, that I couldn't eat - eg. cake, biscuits etc.! Was great! It'll be worth it, just hang in there!
So much better to have it fixed now, than have problems later on!
Cheers,
Jus
thanks Jus, i just needed to hear that!! ive lost heaps of weight now, even more than i last checked cos my size 12 jeans (used to be tight 14) keep falling down and everyone keeps telling me im looking thinner.. so i guess no cakes will be great lol if i can help myself! hehe
After the terrible night i had with Ash last night, waking every hour on the hour with wind, im definately happy to try anything! .... so Starvin Marvin, here we come!
Jus & Lauren - Something my LC advised was to get the powdered form of Inner Health Plus or similar and sprinkle a little bit on the nipple before feeding. I tried this when Vicky was around 4 months and it helped heaps with her wind/reflux issues.
Hey thanks Morgan, I wouldn't have thought of that!
btw Lauren, I'm totally jealous that ash normally starts the day at 7. Ella's start is 5 am regardless, and we've usually been up at least a few times since the late feed. *sigh*.
LOL well Jus, if this wind thing doesnt settle i might just be joining you getting up at 5! lets hope hes better today, hes being doing LOTs of farts today and a huge one in the chiro office was so funny.! i knew all that pushing and pulling would do it.
