OMG I am soo jealous when I hear your stories of bubs sleeping for hours on end! Sander wants a feed every 2 hours or so during the day and every 4 hours during the night! No rest for the wicked thats for sure!

Sazzafraz, thanks for the tip, but I live in Holland and we dont have mothergroups here. We do have prenatal/antenatal classes which I took, but no one seems to care to exchange stories and keep in touch really. I am thinking about starting a mothersgroup tho, but in a few weeks ?'ll have to return to work for 4 days a week so I dont think I will have the time really!

Sander wasnt too bad after his needles, just really sore legs which I gave him a paracetemol for and he slept more and fed more frequently. No fever or anything thank goodness.

Bonham, my dh expects me to bring bubs to him aswell and when i tell him to look after him so I can shower and get dressed, he puts him in his playpen (in Holland they look like square cots with adjustable heights) and goes outside for a smoke! No matter if he's screaming at the top of his lungs! So much for a relaxing start of the morning! He just walks away. I couldn't do that, must be the difference between mums and dads. He sleeps right through the loud crying at night too!

Oh well, at least I am getting all the precious moments now!

    Smile Thanks!

    Hello~
Thanks for the replies and assurance I really appreciate it!

Hawksey - My DH & I prounce the name differently! I say it in French way.. and he just says "Emily" - now, everyone around us are confused! When I insisted on the French prounciation he just said "we'll let her choose when she grows up!" :P

Nikw - Hehe I'm thinking too that she's really active- thus - lean hehe...but I've noticed that for last couple of weeks she's really been sleeping during the afternoon feeds instead of sleeping in between.... I really have hard time trying to wake her up...and getting her to sleep between afternoon feeds - anyone have good suggestion?...Since she's doing that I think she doesn't take milk when she's supposed to

Kokomo1978 - My feeds are still 1 hr.. I've only just started Xpressing and have frozen only 4 cups worth.. so still a beginner...few days ago I XP'd 110ml from 1 breast which she did not feed from. This breast was engorged as I hadn't fed her over night...but my breasts never feel full like this for the rest of the day.. . so I'm thinking.. may be she really needs to work 1 hr on the breast to get the milk...if she has less than 1 hr on the breast she gets cranky and I end up putting her back on the breast May be my supply is not as abundant! my boobs are smallish (I know they say size has nothing to do w/ the milk supply but since it has something to do w/ the amount of storage, it still has to do something w/ it I reckon!!!)

My DD started sleeping through the night (0:30-7/9AM) since sometime in Feb and I felt so blessed to be able to sleep through the night!
But now since I'm concerned about her lower the ave weight I've decided to wake up at 4 every morning to give her 10 min top up feed while she sleeps starting this morning.

Last night she won't sleep til 1AM so I thought stuff it, I'll start tomorrow and turned my alarm off....BUT! my sister sms'd me from France at 3:50AM and woke me up! I thought... God is trying to tell me something...I need to get up and feed her!.. So I did...and glad I did...and will do again tomorrow morning.. (I hope!) Hope this will put some fat on her
She's 11 wks tomorrow and @ 10 wks she was 4.6. Her discharge weight was 3.21 or something...

Woo she's getting cranky.. betta go...

    Hi all!

Welcome BBwish, how cool, our first member not living in Australia! Sounds like all the same probs over there!!

My bub too feeds 2-3hrly in the days and rarely sleeps more than 4-5 hours in the first stretch overnight then has a second 3-4 hr stretch. She is fully BB fed so that explains the frequent daytime feeding for us.

My Dh is pretty good , but he does work long hours. I put him on duty when he comes home though. And he wants to play golf every saturday, but I have put my foot down and said not every week. I have negotiated to have a couple of hours each week of me time, when I leave her with him.

Sazz, last saturday when I was heading out for a coupple of hours, my hubby said you cant go till I have a shower. I said no, I am leaving- how do you think I have a shower each morning by myself!! They really dont have any idea. I am gettin g better at doing all the house jobs that need doing, but if he is looking after her Nothing else gets done!!

April, Addy has had blocked tear ducts since birth, she gets the teary eyes and discharge there. The paediatrician told me not to do anything, just clean them and they resolve by themselves usually. He said after 6 months he might refer to an eye doctor, but they dont do anything till 12 months (insert a little wire to clear the duct) I am crossing the fingers they clear themselves!!

Anyway, we are going ok, still waiting to see if the reflux meds really make a difference.

Gotta go and get some sleep

Addy is asleep, again, she must be having her catch up sleep day. Oh and she slept through last nigt for the first time. Didnt wake for a feed. I did though, my bbs were leaking everywhere and so engorged. It sucks that she can sleep through but I cant!! What has others done about this?

    Hi everyone!

Well, have finally worked out why Amy is so grizzly this week. She just gets really tired really quickly! I think it's cos she's so interested in everything now that she gets overstimulated. So have been putting her down as soon as she gets grizzly and after a bit of crying she crashes. Am really wanting to start putting her to bed without wrapping but not sure whether it will work. She sleeps in her carseat just fine though so maybe it will.....who knows!?

Oh my god, there have been so many posts. Not sure I can keep up....

Maz - nice one on pj's at 2pm! I haven't done that for a while either. Although I had my fair share of days like that in the first 8 weeks! So glad everything is going well with the physio xx

Loren - Amy is a mega escape artist too when it comes to her wraps. I'd love to not wrap her. Need to buy those sleeping bags and see if that works for winter.....

bbwish - DH was exactly the same. I had to chat to him about it the other day. I think it's because they aren't getting much back from bub that they would rather do something else. Plus DH said that because he knows I'm capable enough, he doesn't feel like he has to help me. I said that I want him to do more with us cos I want Amy to get used to him doing things too. As soon as we had that chat and he has been holding Amy more etc she smiles at him a lot more and is genuinely happy to see him. I guess guys just don't know their place with bubs until they can start playing with them.........

Jess - glad jaylen was ok after his needles. 8 weeks!! It goes fast doesn't it!?

Lunesoleil - i don't wake Amy for feeds anymore. I did that for the first 8 weeks and got so over it. She tells me when she's hungry now and we're both happier for it....I totally know what it feels like to stress about weight gain. I've only just stopped in the past two weeks.

oh dear, amy's whnging again.....sorry to miss all u other ladies. i'm thinking of u all....will b back later xxxxx

Nik - Mateauz hasnt been wrapped since he was 3 weeks old. I didnt even bother doing it in hospital cause he has drips ect hanging off him. I just tuck him into his cot with the sheet and a minkee blanket up enough to keep him warm. He rolls on his side to so I tuck him in tight. I found him half way up the cot the other morning...wiggled his bum that much. Just go with the flow babe. Yourve done a wonderful job in recognising that Amy is getting tired. The sleeping bags are a great idea to...Im spewing cause I just got rid of all of Vy's old ones (they were pink)...I could have passed them onto you.
Little man is back asleep - he must be having a growth spurt. Sadly he's 12 1/2 weeks...it makes me so sad but he is still so little. He is still wearing 000. I bought a cow print all in one from Target in size 000 and I have to roll the sleeves up.

ok off to try and tackle the biggest pile of washing! BLAH
