Dee, I am so sorry your Mothers Day was disappointing. I totally understand, it is such a special day and it always makes me emotional. I think it's because motherhood is the best thing I've ever done. Hopefully your DH will be more considerate next year now he knows how much it means to you. I really hope things have improved for you now.
Belinda, I hope all goes well with DHs work.
Trish, I hope you recovered from your night away.
I don't have much time and slow internet so I will copy my post from Oct bb here to update you:
We have had a lot of problems with our broadband and are now without it totally while we change providers. Also I have had two sick little boys which has meant busy days and nearly sleepless nights.
Well, it has been a busy week for us. The boys have both been sick as I mentioned. Also Thomas had some breast refusal with it. I think it's been because of his blocked nose and sore throat. DH and I now have it, and are exhausted from 3 bad nights, but at least the boys seem better today.
Also, Jack (like many others his age by the sounds of it) has now decided he doesn't need day time sleeps. This has just made my days more difficult although I am still persisting with trying to get him down. The other day he said "Jack pushing boundaries" while I was trying to get him down. He said it again the other day when he was putting clean nappies in the nappy bin so I guess he knows what it means!
Thomas is now saying Mum and Dad like a champion. I am sure he also said Thomas the other day. And yesterday he pulled himself to his feet for the first time. SIGH! There goes the very last of any spare time!!
I am starting work 2 days a week in 2 weeks so I guess that's going to kill spare time too LOL! MIL will mind both boys one day, and Tom on Thursdays as well until I can get him into day care. Jack is already in day care on Thursdays.
My sister's baby girl was due on Friday and there have been no signs of her arriving yet. I can't wait, it's the first niece/nephew on my side. And now it's just a week and a half until my other sis gets here from London and meets the boys for the first time. So I guess you could say it's all happening here!
Hello girls, looks like I haven`t been the only one MIA, just been busy and everyone has colds atm.
Well I`m now a Great Aunt and OMG I feel so old..... Lots and lots of complications as usual at this hospital, they seem to push things to the limit but bub is here thank goodness, she only weighs 5lb 10ozs and 46cms long but that was expected because of the 'lifestyle' my niece lives. My niece had a pph after birth, had to have a d & c and has lost a lot of blood and they put a balloon up there to stop the bleeding (sound similar to someone else you all know ). I`m not going in to see them until tomorrow afternoon as I know how tired she will be.
Otherwise apart from the illness we all have everything is fine, oh Matthew had his first cry at preschool the other day when Mummy was leaving but it didn`t last long.
Dee, I hope you all get better soon. It's not fun, is it. When everyone is sick you know about being the only female in a house of males LOL! Congratulations on being a great aunt. I hope your niece recovers quickly from her awful experience.
Well, we are still waiting for my niece to be born. My sister is now 9 days over due and there's no signs of anything happening. She has been booked in to be induced on Tuesday. She knows that this can start a chain of interventions and didn't want one, but know she is just so over being pg and has a bad back and hip pain so atm thinks it's the lesser of two evils so to speak. The poor thing - I went into labour on the night after Jack was due and I can't imagine going any longer.
I just booked a flight down to Melbourne to meet my niece in Aug (for my mum's birthday). After debating whether to take just Tom or both boys, we have now decided that I will go on my own and Glenn will look after both boys (just for one night). This way I get a night off so to speak - someone else can feed Tom in the night. I express easily and he drinks from a cup. I will still find it hard leaving the boys, but hopefully I'll enjoy the break and getting to sleep through the night. It's just a shame the boys won't get to meet their cousin just yet.
We are slowly recovering. Not 100% yet but better than we were. Poor Tom ended up needing antibiotics - and that's with his BM immunity!
Jack's day time sleeps are hit and miss atm - he had one today but not yesterday.
