Hi Amanda, I've just come inside from hanging washing too... starting to warm up... have closed all the curtains so that the front part of the house is dark and cool.
Mel: is Marley's scalp continuing to improve?
Jess: Hope you've found somewhere cool today. The worst part about hot days is having to chase after toddlers isn't it? It's so much easier to cope with when they are immobile babies or older kids who know that slowing down is the best way to deal with the heat.... but that realisation doesn't really arrive until they are about 7 or 8 hey?
Sorry missed your post Simone... bed sounds like a good place for them to be during the hotest part of the day... hope they have long naps. Sounds like you need to fill your head with some other stuff to get your mind off your challenges... maybe try reading some inspirational self help books before bed? I can give you a long reading list if you want... it's not all heavy going... there's an excellent and funny one by John Cleese and a family counsellor that you might find interesting ATM.... it's really easy to read at that time of night and will give your mind something positive to dwell upon overnight if you wake up. I know it must be hard, but going to bed when the kids are asleep or at least by 10pm might be extra important at the moment Sim. Things are harder to deal with if you are sleep deprived.... plus your immune system will be affected by the extra stress... anyhow, you don't need a lecture. Good to hear things are nice and calm at your place today though Remember, baby steps!
