Julie - OMG!!!! That's absolutely fantastic! Thank you for sharing with us first. You must be delighted. So glad to hear the move is going OK, boxes will disappear soon enough. Sorry to hear Will is not well, hope he gets better soon.

Ali - happy due date (well seeing its after midnight here, your 1 day over!). I get a feeling you might be having a xmas or boxing day baby.

Nic - the needles are awful, I used to hate going to get them done. Glad Tyron wasn't too upset. Some babies just scream for ages, its so heart wrenching to hear. I used to hide in clothes racks too when I was young!

Tali - I can teach you ebay, its very easy but far too addictive. Its getting a bit too popular now and people are being greedy so its nice to get a real bargain once in a while.

I have just got back from shopping! Shops were open till midnight so thought I would go up about 9.30pm and it was packed! Went to specifically get a voucher for my aunty and end up leaving without it. DH thinks I am nuts as I bought Chelsea 3 pairs of new shoes from Target as they have 30% off kids shoes. I have a bit of a shoe addiction both for myself and the kids. DH just laughed. I might put one pair in Chelsea's xmas stocking.

My GF comes home from Japan on Sunday after being there for a long 7 months. Can't wait to see her. Her DS was only 6 mths when they left so I am sure he has grown up alot.

Finished work today, got to leave at 1pm which was even better. Not due back until 8 Jan, so I am looking forward to that.

Hi to everyone and their beautiful babies. Must go to bed, lots to do tomorrow.

Arggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg I rang the shop where I had ordered DH christmas gift as they were ment to have it today when the girl on the phone it wont be here until NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!! whats the point in that...... I was so mad told them that I wont be there to pick it up as we will be away..... Gee I get so sick of this place sometime how hard is it to order something and get it sent up from townsville ( 4hrs drive away ) it only a days post away what are they doing walking it up here... its only a CD for C sake....so I told DH today he was annoyed as he would have liked to have lissened to it on the way down I guess we will just have to get it down in Melb proberly the 1st shop we walk into...

well have to brave the shops tommorrow to get dog food and pick up May prize ( not that they rang me eather today)

Mel - enjoy having your friend over sounds like you will have heaps to catch up on...

cant wait to be able to do some late night shopping next year as I have never been.. I feel like I am living in the sticks ATM the best they do up here is stay open to 9pm on both thursday and friday.... ( Yes we only normal have one late night a week)

Tali - that sucks! Can you try to order it online somewhere? You might get it late next week but at least you wouldn't have to go and pick it up. Have you got a back up present?

Late night shopping is so much fun especially the all nighters. Most of the big shopping centres are open from 8am on Sunday and don't close until 6pm Monday. I once went up at 2am and it was great fun, the atmosphere was huge and everyone was in a great mood. Won't be doing that this year - I hope! Been trying to find an outfit to wear xmas day as I always buy something new and I left the shops so *****ty as I couldn't find anything. Raced back again this morning but only had 30 mins before I had to go and still couldn't find anything. The current fashion is so weird and does not allow for people with boobs! And mine are not that big! DH is not working tomorrow and with the weather being so bad I might ask him to drop me off and let me spend a few more hours getting depressed LOL!!!

How funny they only open one late night. I suppose the demand isn't there like it is in the suburbs. You will so love it when you come down, we should all go on a shopping spree? How fun would that be?

That does sound like fun, Once again I have never been shopping with a girl friend before begining to think there is alot I havent done LOL Have you got anyone to help you choose an outfit? I too dont like the fashion ATM all the tops make you feel like you should have a baby bump under your top... I too dont have the boob thing but havent brought any clothes for such a long time havent noticed...fingers crossed you find the right outfit for you tommorrow...I do have other things for DH but I was just getting him this CD that he has been trying to get for the last few mths but they never have it up here I was just trying to prove to him that I do lessen to him LOL as he alway over does it and gets me way to much...maybe next year!!

I only got to catch a small part of the news tonight where were the storms it looked pretty bad hope all of you and your house/cars made through it ok...

Just popping in to say CONGRATULATIONS JULIE!!!!! Oh how exciting! Looking forward to following your journey toward three!

Also thanks Mel for posting the 18 month speech milestones A handy little guide. Niall is doing well too. Oh and scrawny bubbas aren't too bad LOL easier on the arms and back! I feel so weak lately that I'd be suffering if I had a chubby bub.... but I agree they are very cute

Eeek DH has a worm (virus) on his lap top.... he's spewing.... Verity put it on there with her MP3 player that they use to transfer files with even though he told her not to plug it in. He needs to use my trusty old dinosaur to look for a cure or something....

Tali - shopping with GF's is heaps of fun, esp if you like the same things. I used to go with my friend who's in Japan so we can do the boxing day sales (can't wait!), so tomorrow will have to go it alone which I hate. I always like the honest opinions of my friends.

Storms have been really bad again today, we had minor flooding here at my house, my pathway in the front yard was like a pond and alot of my mulch in the backyard has been spread all down the pathway. I haven't seen this much rain in ages, usually we get one really bad day then it stops and they are predicting more tomorrow. Might have to use my new slow cooker tomorrow, its going to be cold and wet so perfect weather for something hearty!

Bath - glad the guide could be of help, its nice to know what they should be doing at certain ages. I agree that lightweights are better for the back. My neice is so heavy to carry and she doesn't hang on very well either so you have to support her the whole time. I don't know how my SIL does it. Oh no, not a virus! Bet V isn't too popular at the moment. Hope the dinosaur comes good with the cure.

You should pack some as the weather is so unpredictable! But after the weekend it is supposed to be nice and warming up - Tues 23, Wed 26, Thurs 32, Fri 33. But after Fri it might turn again. Maybe just pack some jackets or light weight cardigans. It does get a bit cooler at night though. When are you coming down?

Just popping my head in- Still pg, and I have decided that I am going to go way overdue (at least then I dont get dissapointed each day when he doesnt arrive).

Mel- the only day I dont want to have the bubs is christmas day, prefferably not boxing day either, but I can cope with that if it happens. I was just saying to DH tonight I wish we had better shopping hours in Perth, we only have 1 late night a week and no sunday trade, it is such a pain.

Anyway I am off to bed, maybe bubs will decide tonight is the night to arrive..............who knows!

Ali - no Sunday trade, that's so funny! I just assumed most places opened Sunday. I hope bub either decides to arrive soon or at least wait until after xmas/boxing day. Sleep well.

I better go to bed too, haven't gotten to bed before 1am the past few nights and I am pooped!

Night all! 4 more sleeps till Santa comes

Hiya all! Got to the end of a hectic week...it wasn't supposed to be hectic, but it was. Until today - I didn't leave the house until about 9.30 pm to catch up with friends. I left the boys here and let my hair down for a bit and now I'm back. Almost left again cos the sirens and pagers went off...'explosion' heard near the primary school...but as I pulled into the drive and watched illegal fireworks explode overhead, I realised that it was going to be a 'nothing' job and turned the pager off, poured a drink and hopped on the 'pute!
    Ok, where to start:
Ali - the little mite will wait till Christmas day and will come so quick that you'll end up having a homebirth, that's my tip Nah, these are exciting days, though!
    Julie - wonderful news!
Mel - great to have your friend back! It seems like only yesterday you were lamenting her departure. Also, if you are up for the drive, there is a very, very cool shop in Upwey called 'Voski'. I would find it very hard to believe that you would walk away with nothing new to wear for Christmas. The lady in there caters for every size and shape and all clothes are to die for, just delicious. All sorts of prices, too. You know the shop, Wilga, in Kallista? Same lady, just less pricey! If you're sick of shopping centres and teeny bopper fashions that make no sense (let's face it, why would you reprise the 80's, having been there before??), then the trip to Upwey would be worth it. The shop is divine. There is also a recycled clothes shop at the other end of the street that's open on Saturdays till 5.30 - recently opened and no name that I have seen, but great stuff (Cardigan I wore at the advanced screening was from there, a Karen Walker number). Anyway, that's my hot tip!!
Tali - I don't know about winter clothes, but maybe some wet weather gear! I'm tipping a wet, but warm summer. I have been wearing short sleeves all week. It's reminding me of Honduras - steamy weather. Apparently last year it snowed...and I was in humind NZ...looks like the humidity is following me! But I LOVE humid, hot weather. It's the pisces in me - moisture in air is good, even though it plays havoc with my hair!
Nic - the lady I contacted about the information I was getting for you is on leave I'll get it somehow or other!
Bath - bugger about the virus! The day someone figures out how to cripple a Mac I think I'll become a luddite.
Ooohhh, lightning - I LOVE this weather.
I decorated the flue of the wood heater, instead of having a tree - it looks festive enough, with the pressies sitting behind the grate DP made.
18 month checks - who else HASN'T gone for this? I thought mine was supposed to be this week some time, as the date was in my old phone and I had never got round to writing it down, or checking the blue book...until this week...only to realise it was about three weeks ago! I know the system is stretched, but it would be nice, in an ideal world, if you could get a courtesy call before these things, given that now it's a full 6 months between appointments! The old nurse we had would have, but she's retired since the 12 month check and it's a new nurse, who obviously doesn't do courtesy calls. I just want to know how much our mite weighs. I reckon he's not much beyond what he was in June - he's much slimmer than back then because he's only become more active.
OK, gotta get rid of some more crap off this desk before hitting bed...

in my blue book it was 18-21month assesment so i only took Nixon the other week at 20months because i had to take Tyron also! i so agree on courtesy calls to remind you of appointments.
i showed up to a paed appoint with Tyron a few weeks back at 3pm but apparently the appoint was for 1.30pm! the rececptions was a grumy hag anyway and wasnt too impressed with me!
yet i had a dentist appoint on Thurs and had a call on Wed to confirm, lucky she did because i booked it 3months ago and had forgotten

Tali - I am around all of January, so if you are free one day we should catch up, I would love to meet you!

Maya - thanks for the tip, pity I didn't check it until today!!! I would have gone up. Oh well, I can go next week and get some more goodies, I love those independant type stores that have more individual and unique clothes. I loved that top you had on, gorgeous colour and looked so fab on you. I know Wilga but have never been there. When are you leaving for your trip? If you are around, I should call past your place for coffee. 80's clothes no good and the stuff that looks like you should be pregnant, no good either!!! Thought you would have been super busy the last few days with this wild weather. I am so lucky to have a good MCHN, although a reminder call rather than one on the day would have been better seeing its the busy xmas season. My next one is the 2 year check up in June. Good idea putting the pressies behind the grate, otherwise they might all be open LOL!!!

Nic - Tali is spot on, dentists want their money more LOL!!!

Hit the shops again today, DH dropped me off at 11am and I didn't finish till 5pm!! I was so stuffed, sore back, sore feet. Then to top it off, when I got home I realised that I left my prawns behind ARGGGGHHHH $15 wasted and I was so looking forward to my garlic prawns. DH was a sweet heart and got Chinese. I was still so mad with myself and have no idea where I left them as it was almost the last thing I bought before leaving. I finally found some things to wear which brightened my mood. I got a couple of short sleeved cardigans, jacket, top and some stocking fillers for the kids. I just need to buy something for my nan and get the wrapping paper and I am all done.

Chelsea is getting so excited about xmas, I just love it. Xmas is much more fun with kids, they really get you into the spirit. DH bought one of the those musical things that has a papa bear holding a baby bear in his arm and when you turn it on he sings "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" while his mouth moves, lights flash and he rocks his head. Marley goes nuts over it, problem is she keeps wanting it to go. Told her it was broken tonight - Bad Mummy.

Hope everyone's xmas preparations are going well.

Well only 2 more sleeps till the big man arrives!
My kids have been little pains since they finished school, so atm I can't wait till they go away to my aunts! It's just little things but they are driving me crazy!!!!!!!!

It's going to be a quiet Christmas here as DH didn't get paid and according to Centrelink, we are getting paid Boxing Day. Everyone else we know either got paid yesterday or they will get paid Monday, so helping Mum out with Christmas Lunch is a no go. We had planned on getting the family some presents as well, as its the first time we have ALL been in the same house at the same time, but thanks to Centrestink, we won't be able to buy any presents.
Can someone tell me, is it Winter or Summer that we celebrate Christmas, as its 12 degrees here and absolutley freezing, in fact I had to turn the heater on last night.
Tali- On your drive down you should let me know when you will be in Albury as we could catch up! It's always 45 mins from me and you have to go through to get to Melbourne, if you want to meet let me know by PM and we will work something out.
