HI girls, just popping and saying hello- life is hectic here too. My little man is crawling around and getting into everything, he has also started pulling himself up and hanging on with 1 hand, so I fear that he is not too far from walking , he is only 7 months, so I am hoping he waits a little longer- Im so not ready.

My darling daughter has become extremly vocal latley (she was already, but is now more so) Today she said ' that's not fair' when I told her I need to change Liams nappy before I could play with her (where did she learn that from) and now when you ask her to do something, her stock standard answer is 'why?' OMG when did my baby grow up so much.
We are starting her in daycare for half a day a week because we really think she needs that extra social interactions and some of her own time, and Liam needs a break from her too.

Work is going well, I have a well spirited class, but they are lovely, interesting kids. It is taking them some time to adjust to the change, but I am confident that we will get there.

Glad to hear that everyone is well. I really enjoy coming in here from time to time and seeing what everyone and their kidlets are getting up to.

Just dropped Wade off at Kinder... Niall is watching In The Night Garden so I have a few minutes to grab in here.

Hiya Ali! Good to hear from you. Oh yes they grow up waaaay too fast don't they? Niall parrots Wade all the time and has said "Not fair!!!" a few times too. The worst thing he says ATM is "Goodbye stinky bum bum" which I think Wade said to him in a silly moment and it has stuck, as Verity would say "bigtime". It's awful when he says it to strangers at the shops... hopefully they can't quite make it out what he has said!

Mel: good on you for doing your lunchtime walks I've just had to make two mad dashes for the train to and from kinder... equates to about two 50 meter sprints! LOL does that count? hehe Regarding the electricity bill: I think it's because we have a teenager Verity uses a lot of electricity... she always leaves lights on in her room... leaves the column heater on (one day I found it on the highest setting at 2pm... not happy!!!)... she blow dries her hair and uses a hair straightener every day... uses appliances like the tumble drier when I'm still in bed early in the morning (I can tell because the laundry is all steamy)... has a stereo in her room... the list goes on. If it was just DH, myself and the boys I reckon the bill would be closer to yours. *sigh* what can you do hey?

Went to the football on the weekend but had a wretched time. Our team lost badly and verity and I had these awful supporters behind us... so we up and left and went over to DFO for a look! V's boyfriend came along too. He's a lovely lad. At least that's one issue that isn't giving us grief!!!

Ok better complete Wade's school enrolment forms! Can you believe it! My baby going to school next year! In some ways it'll be good for Niall to have a break from him too, like you mentioned Ali... sometimes they just need a bit of space!

Maya: hope you get to enjoy the nearby snow!!! How beautiful!

HI my lovely Junies

i keep waiting until ive got long enough to do one of my big catch up posts but i think if i do that then i may not post until Christmas!

Thanks for the birthday wishes - had a nice day with a friend coming over and bringing gorgeous lebanese takeaway, cake and bubbly so i was happy but useless for the rest of the day.

Mum arrives in around 3 hours and i so can't wait for the help. This pregnancy has been the hardest by about a million times and i have had so many pains/contractions/happenings over the last week its just not been funny - but i can relax when she gets here as she can look after the boys so bubs can arrive anytime - if before next Tuesday!

Typically when i am at my least able so many things have happened - the playgroup i have been setting up in my village finally started 2 weeks ago - read letter box drops to 230 houses!/toys pick ups/so much running around when i can't do it comfily. Have done lots of gardening recently - dont ask why now!!!! birthday money = plants for front garden as it is still mainly sand but coming on nicely.

Boys are ok - Will had croup last Friday and was told to take him to a&e at midnight by the healthdirect people after they assessed him as he was having a hard time and the steamy shower room wasn't working - everyone at the hossy was great bar the actualy dr who looked around 3 and i don;t think she knew what croup was! she was listening to his chest saying i can't hear wheezing - and im like - thats because the wheeze doesn't come from the chest in croup - its from below the voice box - she was so dismissive i wanted to slap her - i really didnt choose to drive to a&e on a friday night at midnight at 37 weeks pregnant just for fun - grrrr!

Anywa, sorry for the me post - i regularly pop in to see how you are all doing - will hopefully get chance to do a proper 'julie-sized' post in the next few days whilst mum looks after the boys - yay!.

Ali - Tori reminds me of my niece who speaks lovely little sentences to mimic her charming older brother and sister, and sometimes her mum...ummm, not so charming, that is!! When she comes out with these things, though, everyone realises just what it is they've been saying in excess!
We went to Spanish Speaking playgroup for the first time today and it was really nice - I think we'll both sync into it in no time.
Oscar has become even more of a stunt man, if that were even possible. Still no haircut yet and I can't imagine when I'll have the guts to let anyone near his hair with cutting implements yet! His small fringe cuts don't count, because I didn't consent to those and they didn't cut off a lot anyway as they left the rest of the length and 'style'. He looks like a little surfie, especially with his sunkissed ends!
Booby boy is even more so lately and fingering his gums a lot...lucky me! At least this time he's not taking it out on my nipples so much.
I got him one of the Fisher Price bike helmets that comes down to his nape - I didn't like that most of the others were like racing helmets, just covering the top of his head, because this one will double as a horse riding helmet. He LOVES seeing horses and has just loved being on my horse's back for a spin.
Anyway, I'd better see to him before he gets super destructive here.

Awww Jules don't feel the pressure to do a mammoth post darl sounds like you've been having a tough time of it! Come in here and moan all you like! You should have read my posts when i was pregnant with Niall... when i wasn't moaning about my itching (I had cholestasis) I was moaning about the heat or Wade or one thing or another!!!

Pat is doing really well except he has really started to Parrot words that Dh says, you know the not real nice words! He says so much these days and it is a real struggle to get him to stop talking occasionally. Bella starts Kinder next year, if I can EVER get her out of Pullups! She just refuses to go to the toilet. Any tips girls????

Enigma- nice to hear from you again....I miss our chats! How is your Dh and Anetka going??? We really need to chat again!

Well, I really haven't doing that much lately as I slipped over at DH's work and hurt my leg. At first the Dr thought I might have torn the ligaments in my knee and I did badly sprain my ankle. So I spent the last 3 weeks on crutches! I went and saw the Specialist last Wednesday and he reckons I have only strained the ligaments in my knee and he wants me to get off the crutches as soon as possible. It took 2-3 days and I am off them.My knee is still very sore but I have a physio appt next Monday at 3.30pm, so we'll see how I go there!

I am also using cloth nappies on Pat now and he loves them, in fact I tried to put a sposie on him the other day when he had a tummy bug and he grabbed one of his clothies and said cloth bum!
Better go and dry these nappies!

Ooh, that reminds me, Jess - I'll be trialling some new Huggies pull ups this week - don't know why I was selected, I did say that I prefer modern cloth nappies and undies for my toilet trainer, but if it's my opinion they want, then I'll do my best!

Sorry no advise on the TT Jess haven't got there yet! which reminds me Maya any progression with Oscar? a few months back he was doing poos in his potty which is just great! I sit Nixon on the potty almost every day at different times hoping one day something will be in it when he stands up but nothing yet! I am hoping come Jan/Feb he will be ready as the hotter months will work ok with accidents etc!
Julie- i think u did a pretty good post in any case! The last few weeks of pregnancy are a test of endurance aren't they? so different when u have other children to care for though. well the longest i have gotten to is 38weeks i have no idea how much more my body would have taken if i went to 42 weeks or something! but only one more weekf or you at most whoo hoo!!

One of my gf is currently 37weeks, they tried for 7yrs to fall pg had afew early losses and several IVF attempts, i cant beleive its almost finally time for her to cradle her own baby she has sat back and seen everyone around her grow their family.
Ali- Liam is a keen lil fella, trying to catch up with his big sister!

Ty is cruising furniture and doing the one handed thing to, dont think he's quiet ready to let go but he is getting more and more confident each day
Since moving ive hardly had a chance to go anywhere because of unpacking/ reno's tradies etc but today i took advantage of a lovely winters day and headed down to cronulla. walked along the esplanade and stopped for the kids to have a play at an enclosed park. Ty thought the swing was top notch and giggled his head off! he had his head so far back he was almost looking upside down and thought he was going to topple over backwards, Nixon was going at the same time and watching the two of them crack each other up was just priceless!

Ali - glad to hear your new kids aren't giving you a hard time. Tori might be making up for it LOL!!! I am sure she will thrive in day care with much more stimulation, I know Marley does. Liam is certainly growing up, 7 months and already pulling himself up. I think the second ones always appear to grow up faster. Trying to catch up to their siblings.

Bath - walking is still going well. We go at least 2-3 days a week. We even went on yesterday when it was a bit showery. It was bloody cold but it felt very invigorating!! Verity sounds like me LOL!!! I use my hair dryer and straightener, always use the dryer and have an awful habit of leaving lights on (I'm a bit naughty ). DH is just as bad, leaving the TV on when he goes out! My bill might be cheaper if I started being a bit more vigilant. Its awful when you get some feral supporter at the footy. They seem to ruin the day for everyone around them. Chelsea wants DH to take her to a game, which he is in a couple of weeks, and I am worried about what she might hear. It can get very vocal. I can't believe Wade starts school next year. Do you think he is looking forward to it? You won't know yourself with only Niall at home.

Julie - nesting in the garden! Don't over do it though. Must be fun trying to get up and down?? Hope Will is feeling better, croup must be nasty. It must be nice having your mum here, hope she enjoys her visit and you make the most of her being here. Will be eagerly awaiting the news on Tuesday.

Maya - I know you are sick at the moment, wanted to send your way and hope you feel better soon. I love Oscar's surfie look, very cute and it suits him.

Jess - how is the leg. Hopefully getting better for you. Having only TT one child, bribes worked wonders in our house and a reward chart. I can imagine all your kids would have been different to TT? Boys v girls? Who was easier? Marley is just having fun sitting on the toilet and trying to rip as much toilet paper off as she can!!!! No action yet though.

Nic - I love checking to see if you have put more photos on FB. The house is looking so good, you must be loving it. It is so nice watching siblings having fun together.

Marley had her yearly pediatric allergy testing done on Wednesday and no surprises she is still allergic to eggs and cashews. Poor thing didn't cope too well with the pr!ck testing, she screamed and screamed. Its so horrible to see them get so upset. Thankfully the nurse worked quickly. When she wanted to measure the reactions on her back, Marley was so wary of her coming near her. She had to show her the little ruler she had to convince her she wasn't going to pr!ck her again. She did really well for the rest of the testing. Dr said she will likely grow out of the egg allergy by the age of 4-5 but he has had some kids grow out of it sooner - hopefully she is in that category.

We also had him look at the top of her head, it has a ridge on the top. For about 12 months, when she is fast asleep, she rocks herself (on her belly) and bangs her head against the cot bars. Its like it soothes her, weird I know. I have had MCHN look at it and she wasn't too concerned. MIL has been stressing about it for a while so I got Dr to look at it while I was there. He also isn't concerned. He thinks the ridge is just where her fontenelle has closed slightly raised. The banging is just making it red and the hair is getting rubbed away from it. He said if we try to stop the banging, the hair will grow back and the redness stop. DH went and bought $50 worth of dense latex rubber to line the sides of the cot. It has been working, she is not banging it as often. Dr has said to get and X-ray, mainly to convince MIL that there is nothing to worry about. He also told me that this kind of thing is common amongst kids and will usually stop once they go to a bed. We were hoping to put off moving her to a bed until christmas time. Might have to rethink that one!

Chelsea has her first school disco on Sunday. Its a family day for the whole school from 3-5pm and she is so excited about it! She wants me to buy her something special to wear (like mother like daughter ). It should be a fun afternoon and I'm sure Marley will love getting up and gigging out!

Sorry for the mammoth rant, that's what happens when I don't pop in often enough.

Sorry Mel just had to laigh at the head banging one of my sisters used to doing it to the back of the couch is she ever sat down she would rock and bang her head back against the chair she was on sorry to say she did until she was at least 10.... Some kids just find it soothing I guess...

Well just a quick one from me as NHL is home.... we are heading to Baw baw tomorrow mind you I am already way too cold just sitting in this weather....

It took poor BHL over 12 hrs to get back home on wednesday he wasnt a happy chappy when he got here.... Hasnt stopped complaining about how cold it is how much he doesnt like Melbourne.... this doesnt bode well for us... I know all to well whats going to happen next just have to pay that the next time he flys in the weather would have improved so he want dislike it here so much....

my mum and sister had a very scarey day yesterday.
my sister was working and mum minding her two DD's. DD2 had a temp and runny nose.
at 11am mum gave her more panadol and my sister rang to see how she was. as she was on the phone mum heard a loung thud, she went to the room and my neice was laying flat on her back, she tried to pick her up and she was limp and started convulsing. my sister ran out of the office and had a 45min drive from hell not knowing what she was going to pull up to.
mum rang the ambo's, she convulsed for more than 5mins.
she was taken to hospital and thankfully came home last night. Her temp had gotten to high (highest recorded was 39.6 and she had a febrile convulsion.
today i went out and bought a new thermometre because mine has been playing up for a long time and i have just been slack about it. my mum cannot get the glassy look out of her mind, my mum is a panicker normally but i think she did really well yesterday she was on her own with the 2 kids.
at one stage she took her out the front driveway and called out to some ppl across the rd for help, they never came over and they never helped, i am appauled. surely you could tell something wasnt right and even if not then maybe when the ambo came screaming down the street sirens blaring, but they never came over to find out nothing.

anyway she has been to the doctors today and is ok, she prob doesnt even remember the events of yesterday....

That's scary, Nic - I thought Oscar might end up convulsing the other day because he was so hot. We kept him on an even keel with panadol, showers and snuggling up to me in bed. But, yeah, your sister's drama resonates with me!
Yep, Mel, we have been sick - DP came down with a bit of it today, but he's been able to get up and walk around, which I certainly couldn't do yesterday. I have a weekend school tomorrow and I'm very unprepared for it - I was going to play catch up's during my trip to uni on Thursday, but with Oscar sick, childcare/uni didn't happen. Oh, well, I've now done the WES 3 times (well, it will be 3 tomorrow), so I'll just explain to my tutor what's been going on and not to ask me any questions! Fingers crossed that Marley grows out of her allergies - imagine never being able to enjoy Indian dishes laced with cashews?? She is such a cutie - she's an 'edgy' child, isn't she? She won't be no wallflower
Bath - I love how your mind works re: money - you are my role model, though I fall so far short so often of your benchmark! I have been improving heaps, though, lately

Nic - Oscar has been using the potty and toilet for a while now and mostly goes to childcare in nappies, but we have done a successful day of nappy-free there, too. It's just a matter of being brave and letting him figure it out, because he hates soiling himself and will indicate that he needs to go. In fact, that's how I went with the TT flow - he has indicated when he's about to make a movement since he became verbal.
Tali - have a great trip to the snow!

Hi all am back for good now, computer is now up and running better then ever, it took over two weeks to get it running this well though.

Since I've been gone I've had to have a molar pulled, it was either that or have a root canal so I opted for the pull, hopefully it will let the wisdom tooth come down now. My BP has gone up already so am on regular BP checks twice a week, yesterday it was 150/85, so the Dr is expecting me to get pre eclampsia again, so luckily this is the last bub and he also said that I would most probably end up with BP issues after this bub, either straight away or later in life, oh the joy.

My little brother is finally getting married today so will have some nice pics in my gallery either tomorrow or next week, I've gotten a new outfit and had my hair done, so hopefully I will look great and the pain in my hips and upper legs will stop for a bit.

Nic wow that would have been so scarey for your mum and sister, glad to hear that she is alright now.

Maya sorry to hear everyone is ill at your house as well hopefully you will be feeling better soon.

Good afternoon

Had a weird day today: Niall managed to put himself to sleep in his own cot last night at about 9pm.... and he slept through until 8am... at 9am DH and I were lying in bed having a chat while Verity kept an eye on the boys (easy because they were allowed to play with the Duplo which they've been wanting all week but only get on the weekend)... but at 9.15am I moved to get up and experienced the most agonising cramp since labour!!! I thought perhaps it was a sudden onset of gastro so i went to the bathroom where i swear I nearly passed out! I felt faint and went all clammy... I called for DH who came and rescued me (I didn't need to go to the toilet after-all... just back to bed!) and I felt like spewing the pain was that intense! I told Dh to give Nurse-On-Call a ring... maybe to cancel out a twisted bowel... she told us to go to emergency but there was no way known I was going to move from my bed where I curled up and rocked from side to side. Anyhow after about 40 minutes (and pain killer/hot water bottle) the pain eased to a dull cramp... the clamminess went too. By about an hour I had drifted off and woke up feeling better... DH had made a "nest" for me on the couch and we watched the olympics together for most of the day. But I wish i knew what had happened! So scary... lucky DH was here! I don't have gastro... everything is normal now... cramps gone too. Fun hey? Sympathies to my other ill Junies!!! I hope you are on the mend too Maya! it's the PITS being sick with kids around let alone study commitments... Speaking of which i am seriously thinking of returning to study next year... LaTrobe has a Post Grad course on Art Therapy that sounds fascinating! Being able to combine my three interests: art, medicine, education would be my dream job!!! The Austin has a successful Music Therapy department (for patients mainly with chronic and mental illness.... they use music as a form of stress release and as a language that they can use without the commitment of sharing too much and as a way of being "heard" which we all know is very therapeutic! I would love to be able to work with people in the same way but using art... kids especially really respond to suggestions that they share their thoughts and feeling via art... more so than asking outright questions like "How do you feel about...." which they can feel is too hard to answer.

Enough about me!

Nic: oooh your poor mum and niece!!! I hope she is recovered now... some kids do tend to be susceptible to convulsions when they get over heated.... thankfully mine never have... it's such a scary thing to see! When I was a child the little girl down the road was always having them. My mum is a nurse and was often called to help. After a few of them her mum did kinda get more able to deal with them... it was because she ran a temp... it didn't even have to be that high. She grew out of it though by about age 4 I think... and went on to be an ambulance officer herself!

Good to hear from you Amanda I know, it's wretched to have ongoing, life long health concerns after having children. it's something I never thought I would have. I saw my Endocrinologist on thursday and my thyroid is over active again So it seems i could have Grave's disease which is a common by product of having babies. However my thyroid level was only slightly above normal... the doctor was very surprised and relieved as I had taken myself off my nasty anti-thyroid tablets a few months ago... he warned me that it would get as bad as before but because my previous test was so good (almost indicating an underactive thyroid!) then he allowed me to stay off them... but my level was slightly too high meaning I have to take 1 tablet a day now... for the next 8 weeks (blood test) at least.

DH home with dinner... i shouldn't be on here... back later!!!

Geez, Bath, how scary, indeed! I think we totally overestimate ourselves when we're sick. Why don't we call the ambulance, or at the very least, a house call doctor? You know we would if our partners or kids were completely immobile from illness! I have resolved to call a house-calling doctor next time I feel anything like I did yesterday. Especially cos DP isn't that well himself. He said a couple of times "go to the doctor, at least to get a medical certificate" (cos I missed the compulsory weekend school, I'll have to crash one of next weekend's classes) and I said I'd go if he'd take me...guess what? He didn't take me! He knew I wasn't going to get behind the wheel of a car If you have ambo membership, it couldn't hurt to get them to take you to hospital, Bath, so that they can run some tests the next time it should happen...hopefully never!
Oh, well, onwards and upwards for us sickies!

Hey girls, must be the season for illness. The boys and DH just got over a good dose of gastro, now DH has something called arterial fibrillation - basically his heart races to 220 beats per minute and upwards while he is just sitting there. He spent Saturday night at the Royal Melbourne and now we are just trying to organise a cardiologist appointment. Bummer is it increases the chance of heart attack and stroke - lucky he is such a skinny ba$tard!

Better go - I am feeling under the weather too One good thing about DH feeling unwell though - the house stays real clean cause all he and the boys can do at the moment is watch DVDs

Other than that life is good - job is fun and pays nicely.....

Oh Rory!!! I hope Mick is ok! I had a bit of that (didn't get to 220 though... got to about 140) last summer when my thyroid problem was at it's worst. Just sitting watching TV my heart-rate would speed up until i felt like I'd just done a jog around the block! Poor guy! It's sooo tiring! I wonder if it's due to a thyroid imbalance as well? I got very skinny (for me) as well as your metabolism speeds up too. I guess he has been put on beta blockers? They really helped me but make sure he doesn't stop them too suddenly. Let us know how he goes! And pass on my sympathy!

Thanks Maya... I know I should have been "seen to" but by the time the ambo would have got here the worst was over and I would have felt silly... we have cover so that would be no issue. If it happens again I'll definitely pursue some tests. I kinda feel though that I've been up at that emergency ward so many times recently with one thing or another... my mother (a nurse) used to accuse me of being a hypochondriac and I guess i fear people making the same accusation I've been up there 3 times in the past 4 months.

gastro: I think Niall may have a touch of it. Very loose nappies, mild temp, one spew. He's happy enough and active today... but has a very sore butt with a nasty rash that I'm smothering with Sudocrem.

Wade at his long day of Kinder... got two avvy's to work on when Niall has his nap... if he has a nap!

lost my wallet last night grrrrrrr, i just (about 3 days ago) ut a new cc and bank card because my car was broken into less than 2 weeks ago and got my cards taken....it was my fault cant blame anyone, but still very annoyed that it hasnt been handed in or anything yet.
