Babies Born March 16th - 31st 2008 #2

Hello everyone!

I have been a bit absent, sorry, a bit of marital stuff happening and school holidays have just started. I am OK, just having to step back a little.

Welcome new mummas!! My name is Hayley. I am mum to 4 kids, the latest addition Ari was born March 16th after a 3 hour natural labour - he was 9lb, 52.5cms and had a 36cm head. 2 weeks ago he was about 7.150kgs and 64cms, he is exclusively breastfed on demand and will be breastfed for about 2+ years all going well. We use cloth nappies and I baby wear a lot.

Ari sleeps anywhere from 8-10pm to 6-8am which is nice, I generally get 1 or 2 nights a week where I don't get woken up by one of the kids. Days can be a bit iffy but he sleeps well when worn.

Mel - I really hope things turn around for you really soon. Maybe one of those days we could catch up in Erina or somewhere???

Andie - I honestly don't know that babies show that many signs of teething until the teeth are actually cutting their gum..... but maybe I am cynical . My 5year old and 2 year old are getting molars at the moment and the only time it has bothered them is if they place pressure on it iykwim (eating etc) I noticed DS5s before he did .

I have found Ari is actually crying sometimes now - not just whining but an all of a sudden scream and I really think that it is him starting to assert himself a little more. He also protests more when he gets overtired, is getting cranky with the school drop off/pick up where before he just went with the flow.

laura - I had my first bub just after I turned 22 and was quiet isolated socially due to most our friends being pub/club/drinking people - mothers group was the only thing that kept me sane, is there one available to you?. I also had depression (unmedicated), a screamer baby and many issues from my own childhood. I have continued on to have more babies (antenatal depression once but no more pnd) and I have to say I didn't know how dark it was till I came out the other side, iykwim, but I did come out the other side .
