bron - i know, it's really silly isnt it! how can you not kiss your baby!! i love giving him a tsunami of kisses, i just go mad! .. when poopy becomes a teenager, he wont want his mummy kissing him and embarrasing him!

shell - no worries at all! hope you and dj got to spend time with doni. i went to bigw and got my friend's baby a present. she's in msia and her son will be turning 1 next mth. i went to borders and got poopy an usborne touchy feely book - this is not my robot. it's very funky. and then i went to the abc shop and got him a lullaby cd fr around the world. he was very good. didnt cry even tho he was awake. what a bonus!!

skye - hehe i feel like sucking on poopy's round cheeks!!

i better go and get some tea...

I read that from about 3-4 months its good to let babies sit and hold them lower so they gain upper body strength to hold themselves up. I basically just balance jazz and if she's fairly balanced I let go for like 1 second. I do that when she's standing as well. I also read that at about 4-5 months with the sitting thing that you should actually knock them off balance a little so they learn to centre themselves (not so much that they fall over though).

I've noticed Jazz is getting heaps heavy now coz its not so much of a shock when I pick our cat up, they are much closer in weight now.

Re kissing: arrest me now for too many kisses! I don't kiss Jazz on the lips as much as I used to though, I don't like getting drooled on!

Prama - hate to be a pain, but you'll probably be sent home. They aren't allowed to do the needles til after the date the baby is the age required, wich means you might have to take him back in 4 days. I'm not sure if that's for the 2, 4 & 6 month ones as well, but I know once they are getting the 12 & 18 month ones & the 4 years, it has to be after the date.
    I agree with the cheeks!

Shell - I'm with everyone else. Good on u for getting this far bfing. I only got to 6 & 4 weeks with the girls. I think the main reason I'm still going is
    1. I don't really want any more kids, so I'm trying to make it last.
    2. I don't think I can afford formula!!
I wanted to feed the girls longer, but there were so many reasons I stopped....pain, colic, cracks....All the things people told me would get better. It just gets too much & too stressful sometimes. Your milk doesn't let down properly if your stressed & tense, so sometimes formula IS best.

with feeding, even though Jazz will now take the boob if I offer it without the shield, I still prefer to use the shield coz it doesn't hurt as much, especially if she bites which is happening more. I will give her a firm but not hard tap on the back or nose when she does and say "don't bite" at the same time. She gets the message & doesn't do it as much.

Jesse bites. I say no when he does & he wasn't doing it nearly as much - he used to do it to let me know he was finished - but the other day he bit & when I said no he grinned at me while holding on!! He knows what he's doing now! Little turd. He better quit it before he gets teeth or he'll be going on the bottle!

    hi all
poopy is a bit unsettled. he cried a little but he started grizzling before his jab cos it was his feed time. we waited till after his needles to give him his bottle. that settled him.
i'll see how he goes before we give him any panadol.
    poor baby.

skye - true, we hadnt got the letter and they werent very sure if he could have his needles. but we told them we're going os and it's been 7 wks since the last one. they counted the weeks and then said ok.

trina - hope miss sumz sleeps better. poor baby.I'll miss you all but will try to get online as often as i can. my brother is living w my parents cos he's house is being renovated. will have access during the day but at night, i wont cos he will be studying for his MBA

Prama - Glad it was OK. I don't see how a few days could make that much of a difference, But I got sent home when I went to get Jaz's 4 year one. It was two days before her 4th birthday. Her birthday was on a Sunday, so I had to go back Monday.
I know how you feel about the needles going in. Its horrible. The place I got DD1 done at they let me hold her so I was there the whole time. With DD2 the ECHN laid her down coz she found they were more relaxed, but I hated it. Excellent ECHN, but that was hard.
I've always given my kids a 1/2 dose of panadol about 20 minutes before. I found it helped.
Hope you have fun on your trip.

Danni - I'm the same with the drool.

Has anyone elses bub choked on their drool? Jesse started dribbling at like 3 or 4 weeks - Way earlier than either of the girls. I asked the doc about it at his 6 week check, she felt the roof of his mouth etc, but couldn't see any reason for it.
He drools that much he chokes. He had about a week when he was getting a cold when it was really bad, & really scary. He was actually choking for about 10 minutes, but getting a breath & screaming in between. I thought it was phlem, but when I took him to the doc there was no phlem on his chest at all. It still happens too. Not that bad, but it still has me worried. Not sure if I should go back to the doc or ignore it.
