Paula and Prama your post popped up same time as mine hehe

Summer doesn't sleep with a beanie on i put one on if it is cold outside, she doesn't like the beanie too much she hates things on her head or around her face. In bed at night she wears a bonds suit and i usually fold the little hand bits down and i wrap her in one of those kiddapotamus wraps that velcro down, she has flanny sheets and a light blanket and if it is really cold i put a polar fleece wrap over the top, when she wakes up she is toasty warm, only if she gets her arms out of the normal wraps and her hands aren't covered is when her hands are icy cold. Isn't that horrible when they are like that like a little ice cube.

Paula, the gym is a bit of a social thing for me as well as giving me energy and the aim is to lose the baby belly but the way i am eating it's gonna take a while. It was pretty hard the first week but am feeling heaps better, still hard work though and glad when it's finished. I am lucky that i am getting pretty good sleep most of the time, Summers legs are sore tonight so she might wake a few times tonight hopefully the panadol will make her feel better.

    hi ladies,
was up at 2am, 4am, 5am (dirty nappy) 7am, 9am . am utterly exhausted. had a mini-meltdown last night. I just don't feel like i'm doing a good enough job, like i love him enough, i have no idea what i'm doing. He's not really smiling or laughing or anything and i'm finding it hard - especially when other babies the same age are giggling!

Not to mention he's not had a good week. Spent all week really grumpy and super tired. He can't go back to sleep if we're out - there's too muc hto see and do, so he is hysterical after missing a sleepd uring the day and this carries over. Unfortunately he doesnt sleep thrugh at night.

He's slept in his own room in his own cot since he came home. We didn't have room in our room for a bassinet. He hates being wrapped now so I have him in a sleeveless sleeping bag (am going to buy one with sleeves this week). If you're going to buy any make sure they are able to be tumble dried! I've washed and dried mine twice in 24 hours now (wee leaks...) I also dress him in a long-sleeved/legged onesie and a spencer.

Prama - your dreams sound scary! I don't dream at the moment, I'm so tired. DH has to literally kick me to get me out of bed to do a feed hope you feel better soon

Kitty, I know it's hard not to compare but some babies don't smile as much and they can be very different from each other, all mine have been VERY different. they can be super grumpy when over tired... Have you spoken to a health nurse? Sometimes even just discussing the problem can seem to help. Take advantage of all the services out there.

I found a gadgit that I wanna get. It's a digital timer that has 4 buttons. ONe to count feeds, one to count nappy changes, one to count sleep time and one miscellanious buttons to time whatever you want. I'm gonna get one on Wednesday. Also, I've been reading reviews on heaps of monitors and I think I've decided what I'm gonna get. Also getting that on Wed.

kitty - oh hun, you need big hugs :hugs:, im so sorry you hardly slept. you're at 6 weeks, and i know everyone says this, but things are getting easier at 11 weeks than it did at the start. im not sure if it's they are better, you understand them better or you get used to it, all of it. they start to sleep a bit longer too. tho then they suddenly change. lakshman has been sleeping well lately and now he's back to waking up in the middle of the night.
i know what you mean about comparing.. it's hard not too. i know babies younger than lakshman lifting their heads really well, and he doesnt do it quite as well and i get down. and the fact that everyone keeps saying he's tiny for his age, really gets me down.
all of us as mums want our babies to be the best, as Bron said earlier they do catch up and they will do somethings better than other babies and somethings not. i have to remember that too.

i was going to say something to trina but forgot.. oh, i hope you get to go to a nice, black tie thingie sometime.. and i was going to say something else but forgot again.

time for beddy byes.. poopy was feeling abit hot, i gave hims some baby panadol. he's grizzly and crying.. i've been making up silly songs to cheer him up, but he obviously doesnt understand!

Kitty You poor thing. I have had a very hard week and last night I just couldn't cope. I can totally sympathise with you. Have you got enough support? I saw my GP today and she said it is really important (for your sanity) to get some time to yourself. Even if it is just a couple of hours away from bub. It doesn't make you a bad mum, it will make you revitalised to continue to cope. Are you able to express and leave him with DH while you go and have a coffee or something? Hope this is helpful

It's recommended no head coverings in bed due to sids risk. I wrap Flynn at night, but not during the day and his hands are often like ice, I hate when he touches me when I am feeding him, so cold!!!
