Only got to do some grocery shopping - boring! But it was still good to get out of the house. DS was crying by the time we were done though so I didn't go back out, managed to get him to have a 2 hour sleep this afternoon.

Jodi, Kristale, I'm finding the same thing with Joshua. If I hold his hands still, he calms down.

He has been a bit unsettled the last couple of days. Tonight he woke up on cue for a 9pm feed and was screaming the house down. It was as if he was in pain and every time I tried to attach him, he'd just scream. Never heard him scream like that before, had me bit worried but he seems ok now and is back in bed asleep.

Kristale, the day sleeps are hard for us too. Joshua doesn't like them much and I spend what seems like ages settling him to sleep, sometimes he only gets 20 minutes before he has to feed again! Hearing him cry is just awful, I know what you mean.

But, I'm just being persistant, got some ideas from the Hush Baby. To avoid sleep associations, they recommend stop the settling action as soon as bubs is calm...ie...if you are rocking, stop rocking as soon as bubs has calmed down and is quiet, doesn't have to be asleep, just calm. Then keep repeating until he finally goes to sleep. It's hard and takes time. I found if I look at the time I start and check when he finally goes off, it is not really as long as it seems, if that makes sense!?!
