Laranna - yep, definitely sounds like a fast letdown to me too. Like Kat said, try the "upside down" technique to start, or else you could try expressing off a bit before you start feeding. I'm all for night time routines too. Like Jodi said, we've done it with Izzy right from the start and she's a brilliant sleeper. Finding it a bit harder to do with Elena because it always seems to be that she is either needing a feed, is sound asleep or Isabelle needs something when I am wanting to bath Elena - either that or Izzy is already in bed (the girls' bathroom is right next to Izzy's room).

Kristale - little pimples for us too, and the skin on Elena's face is so dry at times too. Hoping it clears up for her soon too. The pharmacy is called Padbury Pharmacy, and its in the little shopping centre on Warburton Avenue, Padbury. Really easy to get to - freeway to Hepburn Ave exit, then about 2 minutes from there. I have been giving it to Elena after every feed (except for one or two night feeds) on Friday and Saturday and she's been great. I've not given it to her for two feeds this morning (because she has been so good) and she is now screaming so its back to the bottle for us. Its well worth the drive!

Kat - yay for success with at least one little goat. Love Casper's name. You're absolutely right too - mummies don't get anywhere near enough recognition for just how tough this job is.

Jodi - I am sooooo jealous of Emily's 10 hour sleep.

Had a pretty good night with Elena last night. Put her to sleep in her cradle at 8pm and she didn't wake until 1.30 am. Was the first time in about a week that DH and I have gone to bed at the same time so it was lovely to get some cuddle time with him.

Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend - especially the Perth girls with this gorgeous day!

Jodi - woot on the 10 hour sleep...J's record is still 4.

Saw my sister and her little one today who is 3 weeks and it made me realise just how much J has grown. He is so long now and my nephew is so tiny. They were both similar birth weights, J was 25 grams bigger. It was reassuring to me to see that he actually has grown. He doesn't feel like he has especially when I see him and cuddle him every day.

I look forward to the weekends cause it means DH looks after J more and I get a break, especially in the evening where DH will take J and I will go to bed early. But, I always say to him to wake me up for his feed around 11-12pm and he always holds out till nearly 1am just so i can get some more sleep! I would prefer to get the extra feed in though.

How much sleep do your bubs get all up? J seems to be awake all the time and doesn't want to sleep. He will doze off after his feeds but as soon as I put him down he wakes up no matter how gentle and quiet I am. I'm sure he sleeps more than I think he does.

hi all, just popping nquickly while I've got a chance.

Jodi- can't believe you scored 10hrs sleep. I don;tthink my body knows how to snooze for that long anymore but I always be happy to give it a try if the chance ever arises. :-)

Things goung pretty well here although still no poo's from Macey and its now day9. spoke with MCN on Friday and she said BF bubs can easily go 10 days without any troubles. doesn't seem to be fussing her but she is passing the foulist smelling wind I have ever smelt (eveb worse than DH after he has a belly full of beer!) am scared that the smell may kill a small animal if it gets in the vacinity of her farts- am really not exagerating.

anyway read in a baby guide book today that from 6 weeks onwards, BF bubs can go upto 3 weeks between poos so I hope not cause there will be an awfully big explosion if we have that mucg build up.

am off to see GP on tues for 6week checkup so will check with her then if we haven't had any movement by then.

still BF 3 hr during the day and last few nights have gone from 12:30am thru to 6:30am so am pretty happy with that. Just need to start bringing my bedtime back a little earlier as with 16moDS going flat out all day, I'm buggered having to stay up so late. DH is back on nght shift for next few nights again so I spend most of the day & night looking after 2 kids by myself as he is either at work or in bed sleeping from the night before. As he is a copper, i don;t like the idea of him going off to work night shift already tired- think there is too many potential dangers out there that he needs to be totally with it in order to stay safe. would kill for a sleep in one day though.

sorry for not many personals but brain is a bit fried and by the time I catch up on the lat post, I've forgotten what the first post talked about.
    Baby kisses to all...

beck - 6 hours is great!
Watch out when she finally does that poo, I reckon it's going to explode everywhere

blanche - good luck with working out what's causing the problems. Do you think it's more than just a growth spurt? Keep us updated.

laranna - to me, it feels like Emily is awake all day, and sleeps all night. I know that's not really the case, but it feels that way. I might make a point of actually timing her sleeps tomorrow, and I'll get back to you.

I should get to bed now. Girls have been asleep since 8, and DH and I are still awake. God knows why.

definatly think its more than a growth spurt, the only time he slept today was when feeding and on my mum for a hour an a half this arvo. his cry is so heartbreaking something is giving him real pain, so will start my dairy free diet tomorrow and see over the next few days fingers crossed we see improvment

ive just put him down once again in the bassinet and praying that this time he will stay asleep. well im off to try get some sleep..i hope

Blanche - hearing them cry is awful, really pulls at the heart strings...hope you both get some sleep.

Josh is still awake in my arms...he starts to nod off then wakes again. Might have to give Ngala a call for some ideas.

Have tried the lying back for his feeds and he seems to be better with this with the gulping but halfway through he still pulls off fussy and then scrambles to get back on. Very frustrating!

Well he seems to finally be snoozing so lets see if he will stay asleep once I put him in the cot.
