I am first! Gotta go make my boy some food right now thou. Pear and zucchinni yummo, bet he doesn't think so hehe
Kim looking at that website, omg, how true is it all, wow, even the part where they say don't let people tell you it could be far worse and to think yourself lucky. This is why I beat myself up, but as they said in the moment of a demanding and screaming child bit hard to think of it like that!
HAPPY 5Mths LACHIE
![]()
BBL probably...Jayden is sleeping and I have to organise going backto
work
Maddy had carrots, brocolli, cauliflower, peas & gravy for dinner last night, she ate every bit of it and she loves the little yoplait petit miam yogurts! happy 5 months lachie!
Thanks gals.
Hey Corie all those foods you have suggested are on the no-no list for prior to 6mths, just thought I would tell you if you didn't already know.
You are meant to give the following:
zucchinni
sweet potoato
pumpkin
apple
apricots
pear
banana
avocado
off memory that is all I can think of right now, but that should help.
Tania, you are not online and I am logging off for the nite. My mate is going back to workHope it is a good first day for you. If I am in town this week I will pop in and see you. Thinking of you, you must be real busy 2nite getting organised hey? Check ya later chickie.
i dont go by any lists.... i go by what i feel is right. am i a bad mum for giving maddy those foods coz she isnt 6 months? am i a bad mum coz i gave maddy farex at 10 weeks old? as you can tell i dont go by the "rules". as far as im concerned there is no rules, i think as a mum you go by what you feel is best. not being rude sheree but i get my head bitten off all the time because of what i feed maddy, she is my child and i will feed her what ever I like! thanks for the concern anyways...

Evening,
Ahem.....Nice to see everyone has been posting away!!
Happy 5 month birthday Lachie!!
So lastnight was pretty good. A few things went wrong. Such as some of the things were'nt cooked through when we opened the hangi, even after 10 hrs!! And then the toilet blocked!!! But overall it was good. The food that WAS cooked was beautiful.
Nothing much else to report really. Briley had some solids today. Just some mashed pumpkin, sweet potato, potato and gravy. She loved it as usual but wanted her bottle straight afterwards. She is'nt really having much out of her bottles lately. She drinks about 120mls and then does'nt want anymore. I am thinking it might be due to the teething. They go off their food a bit when they are teething don't they??
I am really starting to notice how big Briley is getting now. She must've had a growth spurt in the last couple of days cause damn she looks big now! My baby girl is growing up![]()
Well i am wrecked. So i think its time for bed.
Hope all is well with everyone....
Ciao
Thanks Sheree and Vic!! I don't know what they think I'll be doing this week....Nikki won't be there and I have no idea how to use the system anymore LOL Damn baby brain!! Unfortunately the guys won't be any help....Ahh well it will be an easy week LOL
OMG I am scared to go back I don't want to leave my little boy!DP is being thrown in the deep end too, because he refused to help out before now...he will now have to prepare Jayden's bottle, change his FIRST nappy! and learn how to get him to sleep all by himself. His parents are going to Brisbane for a week too so they won't be around to help LOL poor Jayden.....I wonder if in 4hrs I get a phone call.
DP's parents need a lift to the train station tomorrow morning and I told FIL that DP could drive him and he said that Jayden shouldn't go out in the car, he is too young!! WTFhow have we been getting around for the past 5mths?? Walking? I said DP will have to do it some day and we aren't leaving Jayden at home til he's 18......He seriously has no clue but thinks he knows everything!!
Anyway enough for tonight......Big day tomorrow![]()
I have missed so much...
My computer broke last wednesday so you can only imagine the drama... thank god for my wonderful smart IT partner LOL!
Will come back in tomorrow on a posting frenzy I'm sure and catch up then! Just wanted to let you all know I am alive!!
Quiet in here this morning.....but then I guess its only just after 8am
Hey Nat....Welcome back! Gotta love IT smart partners huh? I got one of those too hehe
Well I set the alarm this morning for 6.30am (not that I start til 10am) in the hope that I can have brekki and a shower before Jayden woke up at 7.30am......AS IF! Jayden woke at 6.15am for a feed but my precious little man must have known I had things to do as he went straight back to sleep after a feed and a little cuddle and is still asleep now.......I don't know what to do....clothes are ready for work, I've had brekki and a shower....All I have to do is dry my hair and get dressed which I won't do til its closer to the time I have to leave.
I'm going to mark Jayden's nappy to see if DP changes it while I'm at work. He watched me change a nappy last night which was a pooey one LOL DP asked how long since I last changed his nappy (as it was quite a big poo, went through to his pants) I said about an hour...DP goes...He can do all that in an hour?? LOL Even better though Jayden usually wakes up with a pooey nappy only this morning he didn't so DP will more than likely have a pooey nappy to change for his first....I wish was going to be here to see it....I wanted to get a photo of his first nappy change.
Well I'm off again....If Jayden stays asleep I'll probably be back.....OMG I'm nervous....I have no idea why, its not like its a new job!!
Have a great day girls
oxoxox
Morning Girls
Tis quiet in here thismorning is'nt it!! I had the best sleep i have had in ages lastnight. Briley slept through till about 5am thismorning. I am pretty sure brent got up once too her but i was sleeping beauty!! I am wondering wether it was cause i gave her some food yesterday. She is still not drinking as much with her bottles though.
Does anyones else's babies move heaps when they are feeding. Briley can't sit still lately while i am TRYING to feed her. She moves around heaps. Makes it really hard to feed her.
Welcome back Nat. I thought you were MIA for a while there.![]()
Ohhhh Tania....I feel sorry for you. You'll be right. Its only p/t hey?? Hope Chris can handle is all on his own!!!!![]()
Well today is motivation day. I have to get up and clean up whats left from the weekend. Nothing severe just washing, putting a few things away. Prolly take me a couple of hours.
What's everyone else doing??
BBL
Well I am so sorry if you Corrie and Vic too were offended, it wasn't meant that way. Gosh my sister is a dietician and if she even knew I was feeding Lachlan solids before 6mths I would get an ear full. So anyway I was only trying to be helpful as I wasn't sure if you knew Corrie and I have just been going over the list myself and as for possible allergies that can be caused from those other foods, for me it is not a bad idea sometimes to kinda go by the book for those type of circumstances. I am all for just doing what your baby needs and wants geez I haven't read one book on raring a child, but I do know that foods are pretty important and as I said I was only trying to help!
Thinking of you today Tania. Hope your first half hasn't been terribly worrying. I made an apoointment with my boss to negotiate my hours for when I return next year. We're getting a heap (like 20) of probationary constables as per the government promise and I'm one of a handful of senior trainers. They don't start till the 30 Jan though so hopefully I might even get to miss their first 6 weeks. I just want Christmas off.
I said to DH I wasn't ready to start Darcy on solids yet, and he looked at me like I was stupid. I think he's jealous cos he wants to feed her, but I kinda like the exclusivity ATM and she's feeding so well. I'm hanging off as long as I can. Selfish huh? Too bad. She's thriving and healthy and still putting on weight.
I didn't know that you shouldn't give honey though to under 3's - it can't be sterilised and can carry/cause botulism. I've seen that so there's no way Darcy's having it.
Glad your party was good Sara. A bloocked loo! Oh No!! Hope it's fixed for ya sweetie. No reason for the change, just thought it was easier.
Sheree I agree, that website is very true. What's Lachie on to stop spewing?
Vic and Corrie I have to agree with you both. I was determined not to read stuff to stress about rules, but it seems it seeps in anyway. I'm just making it up as I go along....Darcy doesn't know any different.
Good to hear you're alive Nat.
We had to go get a green slip this AM so Darc missed out on her sleep - OMG it just took an hour for her to go to sleep. Might go and make lunch so I can at least eat in peace.
A couple of the big stores out here have 15c digi prints so I think I might go and get some this arvie.
Last edited by ~Kim~; October 23rd, 2006 at 12:00 PM. : I didn't forget you Nat!
Ohhh and I forgot to say earlier that:
I have finally asked for some help. I joined the Reflux Infants Support Association online (thanks Kim), and I have had so much overwhelming response to my situation and I only posted last night! Finally I feel like I am not alone and what I am feeling is very very normal. Hopefully now I will start to feel better and get some ideas off people in order to try to feed my child! Hardest job in the world trying to feed a baby who won't feed!!!!
Oh and Kim were you asking if Lachie is still throwing up, yep heaps, meds don't seem to be working yet, inclined to ring paed and ask how long it takes to kick in!
Hello
how is everyone today? Beautiful weather here in Adelaide which lifts the spirits!!
Sheree - re your question on meds for reflux - our paed put Jesse on Losec which is a reflux medication and said to keep him on it for three weeks before reassessing as it can take this long for the meds to start working effectively. Dont know what med Lachie is on so might be different to what our paed said - but hope this helps. Our paed also put Jesse on elecare which is a prescription formula for babies who may have/have allergies - it is an amino acid based formula and Jesses feeding really settled down once he started on this.
It all very stressful when they wont feed properly. Good luck.
