    Hey Hoody!

We're doing well. I am feeling MUCH better this week, thank god. Last week was just awful, I'm glad to be through that.

Have seen the psychologist twice now and again tomorrow and it has been unbelievably helpful in clearing a lot of stuff out of my head! I am slowly learning that things will never be perfect and that I need to learn how to go with the flow a lot more - after all, he's the boss!

Spent the weekend in Adelaide with my best friend and that was good for me also. Our friendship has been a bit rocky over the last 18 months but things are starting to get back to normal between us which is great, I've really missed our friendship and the closeness we had. She has 4 kids under 4 (two sets of twins!! YIKES!) so she can certainly sympathise with this baby stage and the ups and downs.

DS was fantastic while we were away, and slept most of the time on the plane. It is hard work travelling with a bub though, not in a hurry to do it again any time soon!

Logan is doing pretty well, sleeping pretty well during the day (two big sleeps and two not so great ones) and is still sleeping well at night with x2 night feeds. I'm not feeling any pressure for him to sleep through. I find it a bit strange that people constantly ask me if he is - he's only 11 weeks old and breastfed, far as I'm concerned he's supposed to wake for feeds. I guess the fact that I'm only up for 10 mins at a time helps though, he feeds and settles straight back to sleep very quickly. I guess I'm lucky in that regard.

Hoody - i took both mine out shopping today too. I very rarely do it but had to today. They were both really good thank god! I only take them both out if I REALLY have to. DD is starting pre school next week for 1.5 days so that should make it easier for me to get out and about.

Suse - hope your poo problems are over! DS doesn't poo every day now either. Well not big poos anyway. He probably does a really big one every second day or something.

Dragonbub - glad to hear Caden is continuing to do well and is sleeping through - lucky you!

Best be off - DD is carrying on about going to bed (AGAIN) and has just woken DS up! ARRRRRRRRGGH!

    Hello Ladies

Sorry I don't post much, i do try to but time just escapes me

Hoody - Glad you're feeling better, how's your milk supply going now after taking fenugreek?? My supply has dropped soooo much too I think because i'm very rundown, I should try fenugreek, do you think it's made a difference?

Suse - How is Euan sleeping and pooing now? DD was the same with the whole pooing thing!! Around Christmas time she went for 8 days with no poo!! OMG! And I knew it was going to be bad when it hit, and it was... could have filled 4 nappies i reckon!! For some reason she always times it so well to poo, because usually i'll be changing her nappy when she decides to do a monster poo! I don't know if it's a good or bad thing!

Dragonbub - How's Caden going? Is he still sleeping through the night?? Hope you have fun down south!!

Well my little Mia is doing very very well. She's a gem. Since about 8 nights ago she'll go to bed at 9 or 10pm and sleep right through til 5am, feed then sleep through again til 10 or 11am AWESOME!! She just started doing it all of a sudden and has done it ever since! YAY! She still needs to be swaddled to sleep though, anyone elses bubs still being swaddled too? When should they stop being swaddled and switch to a grobag? If her arms are left free she keeps getting startled and waking up!

I hope everyone is well, sorry if i forgot anyone!!

Keira - we still wrap/swaddle DS. The startle reflex is usually gone by about 3 months, so if you wanted to swap to a grobag, you could do it in about 6 weeks I'd say without having to worry about her waking herself up.

She's doing some awesome sleeps!! How does she sleep for the rest of the day?

    Hi lovely ladies!

Keira - I think we all have our lurky times - it's always nice to see what everyone else is up to but often I have no time to post! Wow, little Mia is so cute, and I can't believe she went 8 days without a poo! You kinda wonder where they fit it all, don't you! Euan is pretty much consistently on one biggun every two days now. They always happen to coincide with his dad being absent (at work, etc), so lucky DP hasn't had to change a scary poo nappy yet. His luck will change...

Hoody - How are you feeling hun? You have been in the wars the last couple of weeks - what with gastro, DD1's asthma, Miss Molly being unsettled - I hope it's getting easier for you but guess by your absence that you're still having a rough time. Thinking of you! Euan does the same thing with sleep - he'll have a really good night, then an average night, then two shocking nights combined with awful days, then be so exhausted that he'll sleep all day and all night, then do it all over again. He's been pretty good though the last couple of days / nights, so we'll see how we go. But it's the same thing, he just fights sleep so much at times, then other times he will just fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I had him out in the sling today, and I was trying on a dress, so I had him out of the sling and on a cushion in the change room with me, and then back in the sling, then in and out of the car without even waking. But other times he just will not sleep all day!!!

Willow - glad to hear that your week has been better, that you are making progress with your psychologist, and that you had a good time in Adelaide. Yes, it is hard work getting bubbas out and about (haven't attempted interstate yet!), but gee doesn't it give you a sense of achievement! After being petrified to go out of the house with him for ages, now I am quite good with it, and go a little nuts if I don't get out! Also, I know what you mean about people's expectations of what a baby should do, it can be a little annoying. One baby might sleep through the night, but will be incredibly difficult to settle, or won't sleep during the day (like mine). Another will wake every couple of hours for feeds, but settle really easily in between. Another will do something else entirely. Babies are hard work no matter what they do and how often they sleep!

Dragonbub - wow, teething so young. I've often wondered that with Euan - but only because he drools so much. We end up completely covered in baby slobber. And ditto on the 1 sleep cycle only day sleeps. He's a little better the last couple of days, but there have been days where he literally will not sleep all day! It is so exhausting - for both of us! (I've just put him down for the second time in 20 minutes - went down the first time, woke himself up farting, had a bit of a cry, settled, hopefully this time we will have luck...)

EJE - hope you finally had your poosplosion!

Anyone I missed - sorry, and hope you're all doing good - I'm going to take advantage of Euan being asleep and join him.

    Hello lovely ladies

Willow- So glad to hear that you are feeling much better and the psychologist is helping. I often think of you when i am struggling and wonder how your day is going- makes me feel less alone. It is difficult flying with a baby when DD1 was 10wks we went to QLD for a holiday and it was exhausting.

Kiera- The fenugreek does work but i am terrible at taking it as you have to take it with food and i keep forgetting to eat iykwim but i can definately feel the difference when i do take it. Your Mia sounds just like mine was at this age (Mia is my DD1's name) she slept through really early and always had a feed then would sleep again til 10 or 11. I'm not that lucky this time, haha.

Suse- Thanks for sounding so caring you almost made me cry. Molly definately sounds alot like Euan with regards to sleep she fights it so much she can be awake all day and then do an 8hr stretch at night. Now it wouldnt be too bad if i jsut had her but DD1 is still only 22months and it gets very hard having to deal with them both. DD1 will only tolerate so much of me giving Molly attention b4 she gets naughty and wants attention herself etc. I usually cope until DD1's dinner and bath time and thats when the real battle begins for me. Dh has his own business so its hit and miss as to when he's home and able to help.

Well today we have had an ok day though Miss Molly still very unsettled from her 1st feed this morning at 6.30 until now (she is with DH) She has had a couple of cat naps but nothing substantial or for longer than 15-20 mins at a time. She wears herself out until she is so overtired but she just doesnt give in. How can someone so little, precious and tired fight so much?? Like EJE we are having poo probs and have not had one for 5 days now i'm dreading when it comes it will be huge i'm sure.
I took DD1 to the Dr today and they have finally put her on a preventer so hopefully we will have less frequent attacks. We have to go back in 6 wks for a progress report etc. I am still feeling a little off from my bug last week so i'm hoping i can shake that really soon. Believe it or not i still have the runs and feel nauseous after every thing i eat. I have lost nearly 4kg though so that part of it is good i suppose.

Well i hope you are all having a good a week and getting lots of rest and happy babies

Oh it has been ages since I've been on. I've missed out on so much.

Well we officially have a teething child in the house. The last two nights Jacob has woken up every 1.5-2.5 hours just grumbling. He thrashes his head around in his sleep and is altogether not very happy. Saw the CHN this morning and she confirmed what I had been thinking. Also said that he would probably get a lot more wax in his ears as his head heats up during teething. Its funny as I had been about to ask her about the wax in his ears as it looked pretty disgusting!! So pretty tired after going from a baby who only woke up once or twice during the night, so one who is suddenly devil child. On a brighter note he is now 6.4 kgs (which is a gain of 400g in 2 weeks) so really happy about that.

Hey Willow - I agree about the sleeping through. Jacob wakes up for his feeds, but settles back down again really easily (when he isn't teething), so I'm not too worried that he doesn't sleep through the night either. Plus I read something the other day that said "scientifically" if they sleep for five hours that is considered sleeping through. So a lot of our bubs are doing that anyway. I am so glad that you are feeling better. Its so hard to relax, but you are right, our babies know what they need, we just need to trust them and our instincts. The more relaxed we are about things, the happier they will be.

Keira - we are only partially swaddling now. Jacob fights the wraps if his arms are wrapped so we have just gone with wrapping his legs. And we only do that at night so he knows the difference betwen night and day sleeps. By the way do we have to use the grobags after we stop wrapping them?

Suse - Jacob is only doing one sleep cycle during the day too (well most of the time). I have stopped fighting him over it as we both ended up in tears.

Hoody - hope you got a bit of a nap yesterday. You really need some healing time by the sounds of things.

Sorry I haven't replied to the other posts but they are on the previous page and i think i will loose what i have written f i go back (so bad with computers some times)

Oh Jacob is awake, after 30 mins. Talk to you soon.

    Hey girls!

June78 - I'm hearing you on the night waking! the last two nights DS has decided to wake every 2-2.5 hours from midnight onwards. I'm tired! I doubt he is teething, maybe a growth spurt? I don't know but wish he'd go back to his 3-4 hour blocks!

Having a shocker with his day sleeps today. Has only done 1 sleep cycle both times and I haven't been able to resettle him afterwards. I give myself 30 mins now and if he hasn't resettled, I get him up. It was just causing me too much anxiety to keep going with it for much longer. Generally I can tell if he's going to resettle or not so I pick my battles these days. Now I'm worried he's going to be overtired and the whole day is shot to hell!

My CHN has done a referral to sleep school but it was done a week ago and I still haven't heard from them. Bad luck if things were getting desperate hey??!!

Hoody - hope you're feeling better today.

Suse- PMSL at your description of Euan waking himself up farting!! Yes we got our poospolsion- it arrived this morning in a BIG way!! Oh well that will be it now for the next few days.

June78- am going to look up the cookie thing, thanks for the suggestion

Hoody- hope the preventer kicks in soon, and that miss Molly has been a bit more settled.

Dragonbub- looking forward to the 6 month night sleeps!!!! Thanks for the info.

We had our vaccinatins this week, and he was really drowsy yesterday, and slept for 1 1/2 hours during the day- which was amazing!! Other than that still sleeping really well at nights, doing at least one five hour block, then a 3-4 hour block, and self setting after he wakes up for his feed.

Had my second mothers group this week, which was really good. Lots of nice mums in my group, and lots of very cute babies!

EJE- we had a poo explosion today too after 5 days with no poo and Molly was lying on my bed. Hmm i'm sure she timed it so i had to change my sheets. Cool avatar by the way.

June78- teething already- thinking about it exhausts me. DD1 is cutting her back molars- not fun. I'm hearing you on the ear wax dd1 always gets bad ears when teething. Hopefully tonight you will get some more sleep. Yay on the weight gain though.

Willow- i hope you day improved and your little man slept for you.

Well we had a reasonable day today though i was out of the house from 9am til 6.30pm. I went to the playgroup i was on about run by an LC and it was great. The girls were so friendly and everyone BFing so i got lots of advice and support. Some of them are still feeding their 2yo's so they are full of tips etc very helpful. I then went to my sisters and took DD1 in her pool for a swim as it was stinking hot again. Luckily Molly was quite settled. From my sisters i went to a friends house who has 2 boys both 6months older than my 2 girls and we fed and bathed the lot of them. We often do it as its always so much nicer and easier to help eachother out. DD1 hadnt had a day sleep so i literally walked in and put her straight to bed. I fed Molly and put her down too so now i am relaxing for the 1st time all day. I'm been lazy and we are having takeout tonight but hey i'm a busy mum of 2 so thats allowed every now and then.

Hoody, sounds like you had a great day! It's always good to get out of the house and have a break.

DS had a big sleep at lunch time then another good sleep in the afternoon but going to bed - took him 2 hours to go to sleep! He was mostly grizzling and talking, not crying, but still! YIKES! I'll just put yesterday down to being his one unsettled day out of the week

We had poo explosions yesterday too! Had been about 2-3 days I think. Must have been the day for it...

Glad i'm not the only one who had poo explosions yesterday, Ours was the worst i've ever seen how she could possible have that much poo i'll never know.

Well we have had a good day today though i'm am worried about what i'm in for later. Molly has had NO awake time and its almost 2.30pm. She has just fed and slept which has been such a nice change from my baby thats awake all day. DD1 has been as good as gold as i've looked after my 4yo twin nieces today also and they entertain her nicely. Its amazing 2 extra kids and i've done more house work than i've done all week. I have even cooked tea for DH (i'm going out with a GF) As i said i'm wondering what i'm in for later Molly will prob be up all night- now thats a scary thought

Hey Ladies just a quickie cos bubs needs a feed...

Wow, it seems as if poo is the talk of the day! Caden does one massive one every 3 or so days, which is a change but does seem to settle him down a bit (he is drinking less and seems to have less wind etc).

As for sleeps, well things are still good on the night time front. I am getting the hang of the day times as well. Hoody I can't believe your bub went a whole day without a sleep! Caden would have been a nightmare - he gets over tired then is a wild child.

Willow - how you going hon? Hope things are looking up for you.

As for everyone else, it is great to hear how you are going. Sorry no time for personals, but I am thinking of you and hope your week is a pleasant one.

We have had a very interesting day, don't know if you saw the thread but DS and I went along this morning with some other BB mums and bubs and had our photo taken for the Sunday Telegraph (Sydney paper)! Was fun but tiring. Not sure which pics if any will make it to print, but it was nice to meet some other BB girls, some of whom I've been chatting to for ages but have never met.

DS has had a great day, slept for 2.5 hours when we got home and I didn't have to resettle him once! Had another good sleep this arvo of about 1.5-2 hours and only had to resettle him by popping in his dummy. Ahhhh, LOVE days like this! I am NOT going to speak too soon and say he might finally be 'getting' the resettling thing, but the last few days haven't been too bad.

I have kept him up longer today between sleeps, 1.5 hours and he has settled without a peep both times, so maybe I've been putting him down too early. Will stick with it tomorrow and see how he goes with a full day at home (our little outing this morning tired him out, he only slept in the car and for about 20 mins in my arms).

Having two interesting problems - whenever I try to feed him he just wants to chat! This can seriously go on for 10 mins! The other is he is rolling around in his cot! I've found him sideways and also with his head at the other end to where I put him down - anyone else finding this? I expected it a little later on to be honest!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend...

Dragonbub- Molly can be very stubborn when it comes to sleep and yes she can go a whole day fighting it and then crash for about 7-8 hrs over night but i'd much prefer her to sleep in the day and be up more at night. Then again the last 2 days she has been a star during the day and nights have been harder. Last night i was up 4 times between midnight and 6. 3 x to Molly and once to DD1. I guess theres always something to complain about iykwim.

Willow- the photo shoot sounds great what an awesome thing to do and how lucky to meet so many BB ppl IRL. Glad to hear that your day is going well i hope it continued through to the night. I dont have any advice for talking to the boob or rolling around as we arent doing that yet. Molly is still under 4.5kg so in her bassinette and wrapped so much she cant move. Maybe if DS is talking to the boob for too long i would just leave it and offer it again in another 15 mins etc.

Well we are very well but tired. Molly seems to have muddled day with night the last 2 days. Oh well we will get through it. Molly has also started to spit her dummy out in favour of her fist so maybe i will have a thumb sucker. We had a bbq here for Oz Day yesterday so my house is trashed so i hope both girls get lots of sleep today for me so i can clean.
