    Hi guys,

Sorry I've been MIA too (thanks for checking up on me June - that was really sweet). Have been back and forth to Melbourne lately and will be back down in the next few days. I started this post yesterday and was going to say that my dad's not been too good lately, that things were getting worse but he was still hanging on - and then he died late last night. Funny how things can change so quickly. He is at peace now and no longer in pain, and went peacefully with mum at his side.

Euan is doing wonderfully, still no teeth but they're moving around, started solids in the last few days and seems to like them, is happy and talkative, sits up and rolls over (but doesn't beg )... and won't bloody sleep at night. I know that it's not uncommon at this age but grrr.

I'll be back in a couple of weeks probably so will write more then.

Suse honey, so sorry to hear of your loss, but it is reassuring to know that he went gently with your mum at his side. As Hoody said, be gentle on yourself - it may or may not hit you straight away so allow yourself some time if you need it.

Glad to hear Eaun is doing well - believe me it is better without the teeth! Glad to hear he is enjoying solids also, perhaps he will start sleeping through soon now that he has a fuller tummy.

All the best, will watch out for you in a few weeks,

    *hugs*

Suse - So sorry to hear about your dad. I know he's at peace now and no longer in pain but I also know how much he will be missed.

Hoody - Oh no poor Molly! I'll have to go check that thread next for the details. Poor little thing! I feel terrible for her. I'm really glad to hear Mia is doing better though.

Would love to chat more but my eyes are swimming and I have a headache from being on the computer too much. I have some wonderful news. My twin sister and I are adopted, and Monday I contacted my birth mother. She was ecstatic to hear from me. I learned I have 2 more sisters and a brother, plus a whole lot more relatives. It's been very exciting and I've been spending every free moment I have online talking to them. I got up early to respond to all my e-mails but Cameron is awake now and demanding attention so I guess my computer time is up and I should run, but I will talk to you all soon!

Hoody - you poor dear, will check out that thread next.

Twinsister - wow, what great news! Good on you, no wonder you are exhausted though.

Lots better here Went right back to basics, lots more booby and alot less solids, and have slept through the night for last 3 nights (minor hiccup last night but that doesn't count...). I think his tummy was sore from so much food, but wasn't really getting the nourishment, hence the night waking.

    Much happier mum and bub!

Well I am feeling fabulous at the moment. Last night Jacob was only up once overnight. Can you believe it. I know for those of you that have had babies that have slept through that doesn't seem like a bit deal, but that is the second time ever he has done this. He feed at 2am, then 6am and he went back down for an hour. Some mornings he has had a feed at 5am and gone back done, but 6am is wonderful. Thats a very respectable hour to be awake. Just praying that this continues. Now I have to wrack my brain to work out exactly what we did yesterday so we can repeat it.

Its so good to see some updated photos in the signatures. Might have to update mine too!!

Heather28 - i honestly dont know how you are managing full-time work. I am just exhausted thinking about it.

Hoody - you asked the other day if anyone else still wraps their babies. Well we still do here. Jacob moves his arms around so much while he is trying to get to sleep that its just easier. I know lots of advice says to stop once they start rolling, but I know of a lot of people who continued to wrap (although loosely) through most of their first year.

Twinsister - that is such fabulous news about your family. It must be so exciting to find out about them. I bet you can't wait to meet them all, especially your mother!

Dragonbub - so happy to hear that you are getting more sleep. I wonder a bit if Jacob is getting too much food and not enough milk some days, but its so hard to tell. I think he sleeps better with lots of food in his belly. I have been trying to stop him dropping one of his day feeds, but he is not at all intersted, so I don't think there is much I can do.

I am a bit stressed out at the moment. I am due to head back to work in September, which is still about 3 months away, but I still have no childcare places. I put my name down at 5 centres when I was 5 months pregnant and started ringing them all yesterday to check how the waiting list was going and was told its very unlikely. I rang a few others that are further away from home yesterday but was basically told that if I didn't have my name down there last year I have no hope. DH can take some time off work to be a stay at home dad to help out, however it looks like he is going to have to head overseas for work in September, so that won't work out either. I am already feeling nervous about heading back to work, but now I don't know what will happen if I can't find a place for Jacob. I don't want to just take any old spot either. There were a few centres I visited that I really didn't like and don't want to "have" to take a spot there just to go back to work. I am sure that things will work out, there is still plenty of time, but I like to be organised!!

    Hello to everyone else!

Molly is doing ok now still a little sore but i think within a week she will be over the worst of it. I had a call from the hospital last night asking me to take her back in as when the paed radiologist looked over her X rays from the night before he thought there was more damage to her elbow rather than just the collar bone. Anyway we went back in this morning and had some new X rays and although there is a little bit of fluid around the elbow there are no obvious fractures They think her elbow has just popped out and gone back in. I wasnt too worried going in as she has started to use her arm again so my gut instict told me it was just her collar bone. They offered to put it in a sling regardless so it can rest but i told them that TBH i just thought it would get in the way and they agreed. I am just swaddling her with that arm in and the other out when she gets sore so she gives it a rest iykwim. The only time it really seems to bother her is if she is on the floor and rolls onto her tummy. The last few nights we have been up a few time but only for some panadol/nuerofen and a cuddle then back to sleep with ease. DD1 is very cute and keeps kissing her arm saying "ouch, sore bubby, it's ok mia here" Its very cute i must say.

June- WTG on your good night it sounds like a well deserved night on your part. I hope it continues for you. I hear you on finding DC positions. I am trying to get my DD1 in some where close and i can find spots but with her allergies i just keep been told they will "do their best" so thats no good enough in my book. Have you looked into family DC? Mia currently goes to a FDC'er but unfortunately she has sold her house and is moving and will no longer be doing care. We have 3 weeks left I am lucky i am not working so its not a major deal but i know she loves going and TBH i love my one day break to get some food shopping etc done. Its also good for Molly to have that one day with me 1 on 1.

Twinsis- How exciting about finding your biological family. I hope it all works out and maybe Cameron will have some new extended family as he is growing up. Is your sister in contact too?

DB- Glad to hear things have settled down again Its always good to go back to basics every now and then. If we have a rough day or 2 i will stay home for a bit and go back to basics and it does work wonders for Molly. She really needs a routine iykwim.

I hope everyone else is ok.

    Hi!!

Hoping that I can slip on in to this section.

I had my baby girl on the 3rd of Nov. last year

She is an awesome bag of jellybeans always on the go.

A little bit about us, Im 23, my DH is 24, we have been married for 3.5 years. He is FIFO worker, and I am a SAHM - unsure about wether I will be returning to work or not.
A bit about my DD - well she has just hit 7 months, and we are always really busy, with Swimming lessons, kindyroo, mothersgroup, and visiting her little friends. We have been on solids for about 6 weeks now, very much hit and miss.
She is Bottle fed and has been since 5 days old...I still struggle with that alot of the time. She is sitting up really well now, has been for the past week or so. Commando crawls EVERYWHERE, and loves to talk. Wish her words revovled around mummy not daddy

Welcome KPK. The more the merrier. Sometimes this thread can get very quiet then bang everyone posts at once.

Congratulations on your lil girl. Your 1st i assume? I am 25, married and Molly is my 2nd daughter. She was born on the 13th of Nov. Wow sitting and crawling she will be up and off before you know it Molly is rolling every where and will sit but not very well unattended. We have had a bit of a set back though with a broken collar bone so this week even rolling is few and far between.

Again Welcome and i look forward to getting to know you.

    Thankyou hoody
Yes she is our first bub, and more then likely our only
Im sorry to hear Molly broke her collar bone, how did that happen? That would be upsetting for you all!

My DD surprises me every day, I just knew that I would have a mover and shaker early on, LOL< keeping me on my toes, daddy is so shocked everytime he comes home, the last time he was shocked when he went to change her nappy. bent down to pick up a new one and when he looked back up she had flipped onto her tummy on the change table. I reminded him that our little girl is not going to stay little forever
She is definately a daddys girl, the apple of his eye.
I have felt so proud of myself that I was able to make him a father. We struggled with it for some time. To see that I have given him the best feeling ever makes me so happy

MantraRay are you planning on having anymore? Its funny how that is the question, I think my DD was about 6 days old when I got asked that for the first time :O

Welcome KPK! Congrats on the commando and rolling. Caden is our first, I am 30 and my DH is about to turn 30. We have been married for 3.5 years also and are planning our second in about 3 years. He is not a mover and shaker, lol, but he has started to roll alot more in the last few months, and kind of caterpillar crawling, but mostly he likes to stand and walk assisted - he is simply impatient I think Lots of Daddas too, only mumma when he is whingy.

June - I hear ya about starting work soon. I am quite nervous, and wake in the middle of the night in a cold sweat thinking about it. If you do get into one of the "less" favourable DC places, don't worry it should only be temporary until a better one opens up. That's what I keep telling myself - nothing has to be permanent. Over here in WA we can't put our names down on a waiting list, it is pretty much do the ring around when you are close to needing it and see what they have. At least it stops people booking in their kids to 10 different places and you missing out on a spot because they have their name down everywhere, but it is hard to plan.

At this stage it looks as if DH will take care of Caden one day, and maybe a friend will on the other 2 days.

As for going back to work - is anyone else feeling guilty? In my mothers group there are only a few of us going back to work, and those are going back to work one or two days a week. AND they have mothers that will be taking care of their bubs. We simply don't have that support, and I will be going back 3 days. I LOVE my job and earn the most money, so I really am looking forward to it, but I feel sick at the thought of leaving Caden with anyone. I checked out some family DC but felt so uncomfortable and strange in their home. My gf has offered to look after him which I feel alot more comfortable with, at least she is not a stranger. I guess I just need to keep in mind that he will be fine no matter where he is, they all have their advantages and disadvantages. It is just so daunting and I know I will cry all the way to work and have to duck off into the loos to cry as well.

Hoody - Glad to hear Molly is on the mend. Cute about little Mia giving her cuddles. My second newest niece is named Mia, I love it! Bummer about your FDC lady, I hear you on relishing the time on your own or just with Molly. DH has Fridays off and I always try to get out on my own for an hour or so. Even if I have nothing to do I try to get out just to have some "me" time. I am always refreshed when returning and miss Caden when I am gone, so it is a nice reprieve.

    Suse- hope you're ok sweetie.

Willow - where for art thou? Hope you are travelling well and your little man is happy and healthy.

Twinsister, Heather and Belinda - hoping you and your littlies are all good.

    Have a great weekend everyone

PS I updated my sig with a pic of Caden. I hope you like?

Thankyou Dragonbub, I love the name Caden! My friend recently had a bub and named her boy Cade!

I hear you on the returning to work thing, I feel so guilty. And I haven't set my decision in concerete~!
Iwas lazy and left work at 25 weeks, I was so bored, so am due back in Sept.

I will only be going to work when my DH is home (He works two weeks away from home and comes home for 2 weeks) So I don't have to put her into care. It was really worrying me.
My mum has also said that if I do have to work when DH isn't home I can leave her with them, but mum works at the same place as me LOL.
It definately is alot harder and limits your options with taht family support.
If I decide not to go to work at all, I have offered a few of myf riends to watch their bubs, not my bestfriends bub who will only be born in Dec. I've said to her at 6 months, not a newborn with my own girl.

    Hi Girls,

Thought I would make the most of DH and DD being asleep. We are at my parents for a weekend and the weather is cr*p. Just holding out for the lovely roast dinner that I can smell, MMMMMM.

Will try some personals 1st in case I get called away (am stalling in going outside to the car to find the pumpkin I got at the market this morning).

Hoody - Glad to see that lil Molly is on the mend, and if a 2 yr old can feel guilt, I am sure Mia is feeling it. We don't warp Kimberley anymore, but she won't sleep at night unless she is in a sleeping bag with arms, so she must see that as her security measure.

Twin Sis - on the family news. You must be so excited! It's hard to believe that you still have it warm enough to go swimming and some of us have been so cold for the last month! I know you are in the tropics.. (maybe I am jealous..)

DB - Yay on the sleep throughs! Hope they have continued for you. He obviously wasn't too concerned about the solids things, which is great so you were able to get some more routine back. As I am working some extra days at moment, I didn't want tp put Kimmy into DC more days and instead of relying on Mum every week, I have a few GF's who are sharing her care on Mon/Tues over the next few weeks. I much prefer that as she gets much more 1 on 1 and I feel less guilty than sending her to DC for more than 2 days a week. PMSL at your comment about crying in the loo.. I did that while pg, and still end up in there just for some peace!! It's sad when you have to go their for a chillout

June - I feel your excitement on the long sleeps. Just hope that Jacob has learnt that night sleep is good!! Kimmy has been a shocker the last few nights, so maybe she sent some of her sleep vibes to Jacob cause she misses him.. We will have to catch up soon. I hope the DC thing works out. I understand about not wanting him in one just to have a place, as if you are leaving him, you want to have your mind at ease, not worrying about something niggling in the back of your mind. (I have had an issue this week, but too long to post just now, more a rant than a concern)..

KRK welcome. Aren't all girls the apple of daddy's eye? Mine is a definate Daddy's girl. What part of sunny QLD do you live in?

Belinda - hope all is well for you.

Hope I haven't forgotten anyone, but am rushing now as Kimberley is awake (and my mum just placed her on my lap). Anyhow it is DH's birthday today, and he is supposed to be veging in front of Dr Who marathon, but has gone to bed.. Must have been too much for him. Kimberley is now sitting and commando crawling. this is getting too ard now. talk to you soon.
