Kate - the breastfeeding is not going well. Am close to giving up trying as it is just distressing for her and me. She gets frustrated very quickly and then it all just goes downhill. Am finding the expressing very hard too though. Will go to the breastfeeding clinic once more today and see what they say!

She seems to be alternating between being quiet and sleepy in day and evening, and then waking up after 4 hours at night, and feeding frantically all day/evening then sleeping through, not sure which I prefer!!

Have been very busy with appointments and getting ready for Xmas (we both have big families to buy for!) so have been too tired even to read most posts here! Normally I relax at weekend and let hubby take over but this weekend I was out shopping then wrapping.

Had physio appt yesterday, she was absolutely lovely and full of helpful tips. I wish I could see her again but unfortunately I have to wait to be referred to my local physio by my GP, which will take 4-6 weeks. Not looking forward to long car journey to inlaws for New Year when back is so sore!!

Sorry to sound like a misery, I need more of the Xmas spirit (G and T preferably!)

Wow, Emma, that's great. Well done Gaby! Looks like she is well on the way to sleeping through now.

Marion, I hope your appt at the breast feeding clinic goes/went well (I'm losing track of time!). You have done an amazing job perserving for so long. I know I was exhaused when expressing every feed for Jack and I only had to do that for 2 days. Whatever happens now you can know you have done everything possible to bf. I'm glad the physio went well. The car trip sounds very painful.

Kathryn, I hope all our bubs are sleeping through by the end of the thread too!! Sounds like Gaby will be the next! I hope everything went well yesterday and things are better for you now.

Well, it must have been the night for good sleepers. Tom usually goes down to sleep after I bath the boys at around 5ish. Yesterday though he was very unsettled and didn't really sleep at all outside of the sling. It wasn't like past unsettled days though, he wasn't crying in pain or anything, just wouldn't fall asleep. He'd lie quietly for a while and then start whinging, have a feed, lie quietly again, whinge again, feed again etc. He had a lot of feeds so I'm thinking maybe this is a 12 week growth spurt. Anyway, he didn't go down after his bath like normal. He didn't finally go down until about 7pm. But then he slept until 1am. Then he woke at 4:30 but only had a very small feed before sleeping until 6:30. Of course Jack was up at 5 (thanks Peter Beattie for no day light savings - NOT!!!!) so it was another early start. But it's amazing what a difference one good night makes - I feel so much more refreshed. YAY!!!

Tomorrow night I am going out! Yep, I decided I would go to DH's work Xmas party. I wasn't going to go as my friend who I would usually get to babysit is going to the same party. But then Jack's primary carer from day care said she'd sit with the boys so I'm comfortable with that. I have been expressing for 3 weeks so I have a huge store of milk in the freezer. This means I can also have a couple of drinks and "pump and dump" when I get home and give Tom bottles of EBM during the night. I'm really looking forward to it now, although it will be hard to leave the boys, especially Tom. At least I really trust the babysitter. Tomorrow is also Jack's day care day so I have booked a hair cut and eye brow wax as well. A real "ME day!!" LOL!

Well had another good night with katelyn she slept 9 hours woke for 1/2 hour then went back to sleep. Had to wake her this morning because I had appointment with OB to have Mirena fitted. Not feeling the best now alot of cramping hopefully it won't last for too many days.

Oh wow 2 babies sleeping through now!! Ally and Emma I'm soooo jealous!! Jasmine sleeps well at night but because she doesn't eat very much(60ml-100ml) each bottle she doesn't sleep as long, but I'm not complaining any sleep is good sleep!LOL!

Is anyone else just completely run off their feet at the moment!? With xmas I'm am just sooo busy. I spend the 2 days that Gem is in daycare running all around town doing things! I had my gp appt today and got my refferal for surgery!!Yay. Just have to wait till the surgoen contacts me now, which I'm guessing won't be till after the new year. I was sooo sick yesterday. Had a tummy bug and the runs badly! Gem was so cute though following me everywhere and when I had to breath through some of the cramps(yep they were that bad) she breathed with me!LOL.

Jasmine is full of smiles now. Everytime she sees me or Corey she smiles. Haven't seen any for Gemma yet, but Gem is abit over excited when she gets near her!LOL! The doc today commented on how happy she was. She slept well last night.Up every 3-3.5hours, but Gem was horrible. Her teeth are bugging her so it took us a good 3 hours to get her to sleep and many cuddles.

I'm off to aqua aerobics tonight as my gp has banned me from normal aerobics due to having 2 c/s cuts made in only 13 months. She scared me a bit that things could go pear shaped and something could rupture. So I decided to be good and listen. Really don't feel like spending more time in hospital if things did go wrong, hard enough with gallbladder probs!LOL!

Ok am now off to cruise the rest of BB...............am quite chatty today...........might call my lil sis for a chat............PMSL.........

    Hi Girls

A good night here as well only up the once. Put Ashton down at 9.30 right before charmed started and he slept thru till just after 2am and then slept through till 8am this morning !! OMG I slept past 8am, even the other 2 boys never disturbed me OMG !! Should have seen me racing around like a chook with my head cut off tryin to get 3 kids ready for kindy/playgroup LMAO We made it in time as well.

I don't feel any bettter for having a half decent sleep though, but it was cause I was so flat out at playgroup today being the last day, so everythign had to be washed down etc . Tomorrow is the last day of kindy for 8 weeks ... yeeha LOL.

Kate - good luck with the vaccinations, Kirsten has hers tomorrow. Am still persisting with the bfing, she fed perfectly at the clinic but of course I couldn't position her as well at home, its frustrating! She can't feed so well on the left as she has tight neck muscles so she might need physio too!

Emma and Ally - well done on the 8-9 hours! Kirsten sleeps about 6, but usually she is awake until 12-1230, a little earlier would be nice!

Kirsty - I am completely run off my feet too, with two big families to buy for, must be much harder for you with two kids instead of one!!

Kathryn - sounds like Ashton is doing really well, he has overtaken Kirsten with his weight!

Melanie - hope you enjoyed the party! My work Xmas party is on Saturday, can't be bothered going but everyone is really pleased I am! Will have to hold off on the alcohol so I don't say anything I regret to my boss, who was not very supportive of my pregnancy, to say the least!!!

    Hi Girls

I can breathe easier now. my stepdad retained his job thankfully and mum had major foot surgery today which she has pulled through okay with. We will go see her on Friday as tomorrow they take out the 24 hr pain relief that makes her leg numb, so she will be in a lot of pain tomorrow night and getting used to new pain relief etc. So hopefully Friday night she would have settled down a bit again.

I will catch up a bit more tomorrow. Bloody exhausted and have some admin work to do before bed on BB

ETA - Kate *hugs* for you babe. You are so not a crap mum and just think you will never have to see those people again, so who cares what they think. I know when I see a mum struggling with a crying baby, I don't think of them as being a bad mum, I feel really sorry & sympathetic for them that they do have to go through that which I know myself is a really trying time especially in a waiting room.

We were up twice sortta last night as well. Once just after midnight as Ashton fed at 8.30, so that was 4 hours then again at 4.30am so another 4 horus. Andrew is also up at 4.30am getting ready for work etc, so basically the day has started in our house. Although I did go back to bed, for an hour and a half. Feel worse for doing that though LOL. Can't blody win.

Have fun buying cot sheets Emma.

Kate Kate Kate - I could have written that myself on Monday, went to the MCHN for our first check up & Jovie screamed the entire time before we got into see the nurse, once in there the nurse instantly said "reflux" which got me cross. But the worst thing is the mums who look at you with disdain like you are intentionally letting your child cry. When I know your intention is far from that... *hugs*

Hugs to you Kate. I agree with what everyone else has said. You're a better mum than those other parents because you are coping with a lot more and because you wouldn't be judgemental of others in that situation. Same to you Christy - hugs for you too.

I have a hair appt soon - it's my big night out tonight!! Tom slept for 7 hours straight last night - woo hoo!! That's his longest sleep so far. He woke again at 4 but only had a really small feed so I think he'll drop that one soon. Then he woke at 7 - just as I was about to wake him up as we had to drive DH to work this morning and he had to be there by 8. Pity the one night Tom slept until 2am, DH was getting phone calls until 1:30 due to a big problem at work and we both kept getting woken up!

Glad things are better at your end Kathryn, I hope the bfing improves for you Marion but well done for persisting. You are doing a great job. Hi to Kirsty, Emma, Ally, Tegan and anyone else.

Aargh I have had such a tiring day...am doing a 24 hour shift on my own with her as hubby was straight out after work for his Xmas party..and of course she has been having a difficult day where she fusses all the time and won't let me put her down for a second..she also hadn't pooed for a couple of days and it all came out tonight, plus she was sick all over me..then she was very wriggly while feeding just to make my back extra sore!!!!

The joys of motherhood..and got the vaccinations to look forward to tomorrow!

She still rocks my world though

So much going on here at the moment. Charlie had his needles yesterday. Poor thing cries so much, it broke my heart. Then he fell straight asleep in my arms. Been having ok-ish nights. He is still spewing up milk even with the reflux formula. He now has a excema looking rash over his face and neck. I showed the doctor at his injections and she said to make an appt, which is tomorrow. We think he might be lactose intolerent. Poor thing.

I had to go to the hospital last night. I was having breathing problems and chest pains. I have this massive fear that i'm going to get a blood clot in my lung, because that's what mum died of. So I made them give me the blood test to check for it. 8 holes in my arms and hands, plus 3 hours later they finally got the blood! As presumed by the doctor, the test was negative. I am still a little freaked though. I've been having huge panic attacks lately. I thought i was getting better, but apparently not.

*hugs* Tegan - my best friend's dad died of a brain haemorrhage and she can't shake the fear that she will have one too, and also has panic attacks. So you are not alone in this. She is getting better though, and I'm sure you will too.

    Hey girls

Had a good night with Jaz, up 4 hourly. Shes just so damn happy its not funny, so different to how Gem was, she was so serious!

I'm on my own sat night Marion as thats when Corey's xmas party is. I would have gone and got my parents to babysit but my sister got in first as her xmas party is the same night and for my parents to babysit 5 girls all under 5 it would be to much!LOL, so I'll stay home. Corey got so drunk last year that he snuck home and stripped naked and lay in our backyard, which is where I found him at 11pm!! So of course being the loving, caring partner that I am, I drew all over his naked body and then took pics!! Man it was funny showing him the pics in the morning!

Tegan-Have you been tested for gallbladder issues hun? I know you think it could be panic attacks but gallbladder attacks are very very similar to them. You get breathless, severe chest and high back pain and its excrutiating. Just a thought cause its really common to get gallbladder probs after having kids. :hugs: I hope things get better hun.

Melanie-Great sleeping from Tom!! I think Jasmine will be sleeping through by 3 months like Gem did. They are both just not big eaters!
