    Morning all
Leah & Saffi-Unfortunately I think the bill was up because I was home so much for the first month of the bill and seeing the average temp in December/January period out here is close to 40 the air cons were on pretty much all the time. the one if C's room was on 24/7 for sure. Its just too hot out here to not have them on. I opened the window in her room the afternoon that I got the elec bill and it almost instantly felt like an oven and then the wind blew and a big cloud of red dust blew in the window covering everyting in the room! So windows being open are not an option right now. we have just been put on level 5 water restrictions because our dam is at less than 10%. Hmmmm I would have thought level5 should have come in a while ago!
Leah-Caitlyn wakes at about 10, 12,3 and 5 every day and has done so for ages. Most of the time its just a matter of popping her dummy in or giving her a bottle, or wrapping her again but this morning when she woke at 530 and didnt go back to sleep at all. Oh and all the GP says about her eye is keep persevering with the drops. Daycare are happy for her to be there as long as there is no green stuff coming from her eye - which there isnt (touch wood!)
What are you wrapping bubby in>? and what is she wearing under the wrap? I am using a cot sheet at the moment cause she REALLY wants to get those arms out and am dressing her in a short sleeved jumpsuit. Thursday night is going to be a fun night for me though because I am going to trial her unwrapped. figured the long weekend was proabbyl the best time to do it! Wish me luck!
anyway - time to go get something to eat before work. Enjoy your day everyone. mwah

brandy - i totally get your mother's group thing. just because you have babies the same age, doesn't mean you would ever hang out any other time. don't feel bad about that - i have it badly too. i think the beauty of virtual mother's group is that at least we have our geeky love of the internet in common if nothing else.

i don't go to any other mother's group and i consider starting my own with birds of a feather - but i seriously question whether there are any birds like me... (what does that say, i wonder?)

for those with wakeful babies - the little d00d woke 45 minutes after going down last night crying hard, then at 2.30 absolutely crying/screaming. i bolted into his room with a massive shot of adrenalin because he never cries like that. he was sooo upset. he then slept until 5.30 (leak) and fell asleep on me on the sofa while i was feeding him for 45minutes. he certainly wasn't very happy last night.

i think the babies really suffer too when their sleep is interrupted. i can't see any teeth stubs but i do wonder if my chewy/drool pants is in the process.

Trish - hope you and K get better soon!! It must be terrible being sick on top of the general tiredness of motherhood!!

Brandy - Welcome! Hope you find support and friendship in here.

Viv - That's amazing! It is a small world. I love Meg - she's great! I love watching her dance - she's such a perfect little ballerina! Are you planning on getting back into some dancing?

Saffi - Hope you are having a lovely time in Port Douglas - it is also one of my favourite places - I grew up in Innisfail which isn't far away from there. Kuranda markets are beautiful - you'll love them! Hope you had some fish for dinner!

Well I am a bit excited - Teo seems to be extending his waking time: 3 nights ago 3am, next night 4am and last night 4:30am - YEY!!! Just need to get to 7am now!! :-)
Have a good day everyone! xo

who's still getting fed at night?

star - i wiiiish i could go back to mad although mr cheeney will need to be off the boob also. i can't imagine boinging round and spraying milk everywhere. i'm down the coast now so i'd have to plan carefully my trips. the other thing is that Anthony Ikin's outfit down here do classes too, so i may go there (you might remember him from so you think you can dance)

Not us Viv, Maddi is a great sleeper at night, but during the day she is so demanding.

Trish Maddi had me up 6am, so i know how ya feel. How cute is Joel sounds like he loves being a big brother.

Leah-Hope Amara starts sleeping better again.

    Afternoon Ladies,
Well I am feeling much better and am ready to take on the world (maybe).

Had a good night last night. Ethan only woke up twice and then slept until 7 am Yay!!.

I can't remember who but someone was saying the other day that their bub is supermaning already. Ethan did it today for the first time. Not sure if it was a fluke or what but he is getting very frustrated that he can't crawl yet.

Who feels like their bub is growing too fast? Me, me and me! I am starting to want another baby which is probably a little crazy. Oh well. My kidney specialist would kill me if a get pregnant already. Under strict instructions to wait at least another month. I don't supose our finances would cope too well either.

Hope you are all having a great day.

    Hiya,

Rebecca - yes we also use a cot sheet and sometimes an extra wide muslin I made for the purpose Underneath is a short romper or just a tee shirt and nappy, usually socks though as Miss A MUST have her feet sticking out the end LOL.

Viv - yes we are still feeding at night. Last night was better though just the 3am feed and then thru to 7ish

alz - yes yes yes, Amara is growing overnight!!! Every day she seems bigger!

Took them both shopping today, Amara screamed and Eliza went feral. We left and came home......sigh

Leah- we have just gotten over that phase. Lu was waking 2-3 times a night. I asked around and it seemed a fairly common 5th month thing. Wonder if that is a 'wonder week'? Fortunately we are back to normal.

Viv- Feed at 6.30pm then somewhere between 5 and 7am. Sometimes she wakes around 10.30pm, if she does i'll give her a quick feed in the hope she will sleep through. Sometimes she wakes around 2-3am but not often. If she does i feed her b/c i'm too lazy to try and settle her in the middle of the night!!!

Mo- I would get maddi checked, a friend put some ear tugging down to teething. Turned out to be a nasty ear infection. Better to be safe and all that. Will be in Frankston in a couple of weeks if your keep to catch up. Can show you some more nappies too.

Brandy- Yeah i hear you on the mothrs group thing. I got really lucky with my first one so still meet up with them. My second one the girs aren't really my kinda gals, but it is nice to get out of the house, so i'll keep going for a while.

In other news, the caterpillar has now turned into crawl. Have to strap her into the high chair to keep her still. Got a jolly jmper, that keeps her entertained and in one place for a while too. Thinking i need one of those baby cages !

Ange-I would love that, I got my swaddlebee's, BumG & wet bag today.
    The SwaddleB's look really cute.
WTG Lu on the crawling M tries but then gives up, i think i can wait for the crawling stage at least in till we are moved in the bigger place.

Alz-I think M is growing way too fast.

Maddi seems to be better still tugging at her ear slightly, but not as cranky.
Went Easter shopping & brought M some toys & eggs for everyone else.
Also got her a cute bunny outfit.

    Afternoon everyone!!
What another boring day at work! I did check out the centrelink website yesterday and it looks as though we would be worse off if I didnt work so....5 hours a day will continue. I suppose I shouuldnt complain - i surf the net for most of the day at the moment! But I am jealous of all you mums who get to spend so much time with their bubs! although it does make me cherish the weekends more!
Viv- We are still feeding at night here - usually around midnight. sometimes we have a real fluke and she stays down until around 3 but then she will feed and I wont be able to get her back to sleep until it is time for us all to get up.
Mothers group-I so wish I had been able to go to one! As it is now I talk to all the mums at day care but our babies are of such different ages and stages.
Swimming-Of course the pool out here doesnt do lessons for anyone under 5!! So I guess that is out. And we cant even go to our local dam anymore. they have banned all water activities.
Wow for all those babies attempting to get crawling. Caitlyn still doesnt roll - she still hates tummy time. the ladies at day care put her on her tummy quite a bit but she just ends up crying alot!
Oh - have fogotten that I have washign to hang out. Chat later.

    Evening all

Had a great day today. Went up to Kuranda on the cable car above the rainforest. Amazing. Going to go out to Green Island in the next couple of days. L has been so good given his routine has been totally put out.

Terri - went to Kuranda - very disappointing. I lived in Mareeba for a while so went to the markets regularly. They were so much better 25 years ago LOL. Now just full of Australian souveniers made in China.
Trish - Pool is on St Crispins Dr. It is back past the Mirage. The boys caught fish but they had a catch and release policy. Brought back one fish, a Grunter which they cooked on the BBQ and was really nice.
Viv - we are still up at least twice a night and we do a dream feed most nights before I go to bed and then feed him when he wakes between 2 - 4am.
Amber - yes, a catch up is in order before I go back to work in May. have a nice camping holiday.
Leah - bummer on AF. God only knows when she'll visit me.

L is doing the superman thing too. He is trying really hard to bring his legs underneath himself. Expect that any time now he will be crawling all over the place. Yes, they are growing so fast. Never thought I'd say that I miss my little newborn (but not the constant crying).

Morning all, we had a shocking night! DH and Joel went out for dinner for FIL's b'day. I didn't go because I didn't want to take a grumpy and tired K (not much fun). They came home and DH said that Joel ate all his dinner which I thought unusual lol! At 12:30am Joel made some noise and I went in and he said "mummy I'm not well". He says that most nights for attention so I didn't think much of it until 1am when he started up again and then started vomitting . I made DH get up to help clean everything up. Joel then didn't want to go back to his own bed so he came into bed with us, but DH couldn't sleep so he slept in Joel's bed. So in amongst that and K waking numerous times after his 4am feed I'm feeling pretty tired today! I'm not happy, I'm sure it is because MIL would have been constantly trying to feed Joel, this is the third time he has vomitted o'night because MIL has made him eat too much . I'm normally there to tell her "no, Joel has had enough"!

Sorry for the selfish start to my post!

Saffi - That cable car sounds awesome! We have never been on it because of the $$$. We usually hire a car and drive up to the Daintree for a day. Oh, I'm still so jealous of you!!!

Leah - Sorry to hear AF has made her arrival . I hope mine doesn't come back any time soon!

    Willow
    - Have a great time away with your family!

Amber - I hope you have a great time away camping! Where are you off to?

Rebecca - Bummer you can't give up work . Joel hated tummy time up until he could commando crawl (around 6 months) so don't worry about Caitlyn. Joel was crawling properly by 8 months so he was right on track. Oh and I still wrap K completely too. He is starting to get out of his wrap and not care though so I'm sure we can turf it soon.

Mo - I'm glad Maddi is on the mend. Can't wait to see a pic of her in her bunny outfit!

Ange - Wow, how clever is Lu getting around! Sadly once they start moving they never stop!!

Alz - Glad you're starting to feel better. Yep, I feel like my bub is growing too fast as well!

Viv - K is still fed o'night *sigh*. He gets a dream feed at 9:30pm and then wakes around 4 - 4:30am for a feed. How are your toes recovering?

Star - That's great Mateo is sleeping longer stretches! He will be sleeping through before you know it.

Hope you all have a great day!!!

trish - toes are healing like champs. thanks for asking. i will be able to get a pedi soon and maybe even display them... ooh, just in time for winter

little man hit a hungry patch last night and pick up his 2am feed again. meh. will have to tank him up today.

and for the refluxers/chuckers out there - having curbed dairy and chocolate has made a huge difference. he just does normal baby possets now with the occasional hurl. it's not cured but it's certainly managed.

Trish - sorry to hear you had such a horrible night! Hope today is a good one for you

Amber - have a great time camping

Saffi - your making me even more jealous!

Viv - glad to hear your chucking troubles are getting sorted out

I finally convinced my DH to get an ergo, so we did, and we took Tahlia out in it yesterday to Target and she loved it! No grizzling like what she does on the pram, however, I had a wet patch on my tshirt from the drool! and its way better on my back then the other one I had

Tahlia is properly rolling around now, she did it a couple of weeks ago, but then hadn't done it since. On Tuesday we were at my mums and she rolled and cracked it, so I flipped her back and she just kept on rolling. Tuesday night I got up to check on her, and she was fast asleep on her tummy with her face planted into the mattress... it freaked me out, I rolled her back over just to make sure she was breathing! I'll be much more relaxed when she can go back the other way too!
