by the way, for those living in sydney, brisbane, melbourne too i think....bonds is searching for "models" for their summer cataloge. doing the search in the cities in mid-may, since we've got such gorgeous babies on this thread, thought i'd share this info in case anyone's interested. you can find it in their website.

Grrr - DD started the day this morning at 6:00!! Ridiculous. Before daylight saving she was spot on 7:15 wake up, this morning she was practically asleep again by the time DH appeared from the bedroom. I wish she'd go back to normal. We're putting her to bed at the same time as she used to, if she needs less sleep I think I'd prefer she dropped a day sleep rather than getting up so early.

And our PVR didn't record East of Everything last night. Very frustrating.

    Rant over.

MD - 5 strollers!! DH would freak if I had that many!! I want to get an umbrella one soon I think, ours is just so big for trips away. Did you watch the last Doc Martin? What did you think of the ending?

Fianne - I did the cleaning yesterday while DH kept K entertained. The floors were filthy considering they'd only been done a week ago. Go Max Go!!

Arte - poor Will, hope he is feeling better today and slept a bit better for you last night.

Sherie - those slippers look good, might have to consider buying a pair. Some gorgeous little shoes on there too.

ETA Grr - my 7 week old niece slept for 11.5 hours straight last night!!

Cally you can stream most abc shows from their website.

Gracie I wish we were closer, we could watch telly together too . BTW Howz come I didn't know you were a teacher??? The crowd control was the reason my teaching career took a dive (I got through 2nd year and then got real with myself about it). However they are always on the look out for good teachers in the TAFE system, less crowd control, more motivated students. And of course teachers always look good in the library world too, if you're thinking of a sideways move that wouldn't require too much extra study. You would make an excellent librarian. Training clients is half or more of the job. The Maclaren is a Quest, it feels like a dolly pram after the Emma, LOL but it's pretty sturdy as umbrella's go.

Noni you're sleeping vibes are still working (woohoo) but the cleaning vibes seem to have gotten lost on their way to my house LOL.

Arte I think our weather must be similar to yours, DD1 will start checking the dogbowl for ice every morning soon LOL. Far out about having to go to the army base for panadol...you really out in the wilds, there, girl! We've got the green snot factory here too, she's really good at rubbing it all over her face then when you're trying to wipe it up she turns around and rubs it all over you! LOL Snot monster.

Fianne, way to go Mobile Max`! Isn't it exciting, they suddenly start relating really differently to their whole environment, they start chosing what they want to do, where they want to go instead of just having the thing we give them. Enjoy having your DH at home an extra day. It's not a pub hol here but DH has taken a few days off to help baby proof (read: climb his sorry A$$ out of the dog house LOL). We're getting the magnetic locks for the kitchen first.

My god we had a shocker night last night. I think it was partly my fault becuase I decided to give him some food at about 6pm to start to introduce a dinner meal, but he was up and down all night with wind. I had to put him in our bed in the finish - and we haven't done that for 2wks. I also think that the top tooth was giving him trouble as it has definately split the skin now so it will be through by tomorrow.

Gracie, I went a bit shorter again, so now it is a fairly short crop, but a dream to blow dry - just bung a bit of mousse in and blast it LOL. LOL at you watching telly with your boobs out

Fianne, I normally wouldn't spend that much, but he will definately get the wear out of them to justify it - he wears them everyday.

Oh, we have got two words here now - not the much anticipated Mum or Dad, but Bub and Bye - he even waves when he says bye LOL, so cute! He can sort of clap his hands now too, but most of the time he misses.

    Hello everyone!

Ive been a bad baby buddy to everyone here. I have been keeping up with everyone but just not posting eeeep!

Just a quick update from me, Still waiting on my Aunty's results AND Dwayne's pops. My AUntys Dr has gone on holiday and she cant get her results until he comes back. What a joke.....jesus, its only CANCER they are testing for!!!

Bladder infection passed thanx to drinking ltrs and lts of water. Went to the Dr about my bleeding as it wouldnt stop, its been going on for well over 2 weeks now. He changed the pill I was on. Although he is giving me a month on the new pill and if I dont have any change he wants me to come straight back and he will send me to a Gyno. He wanted me to get a pap-smear done there and then but i wasnt as keen as him for obvious reasons!

Sherie - I had shocking nights too when I use to give Rory dinner at 6/7:00 at night, not realising that it was too late. I hope Alisters tooth comes through quickly for him. ROry still only has his two bottom teeth. im glad you have got your mouse problem under control, we havent yet YUCK! All those sports are going to keep you well and truly busy!

Noni - I wish I could of come to the mind body spirit festival too! I had iridology done when I was younger, its very interesting isnt it! How are you feeling? Hope Ashas teeth come through soon so you can get a good nights rest.

Cally - It took buggalugs a long time to get back into his routine after daylight savings. I loved daylight savings but now its a pain in the arse!!!!!

Fianne - Way to go Max!! Now the fun begins haha Have you started to baby proof yet??

Gracie - I know what you mean about having visitors around! You cant stroll around the house in the nude with guests haha (which is my fav!!) What did you do while they were visiting? Any touristy things??

Art - Jeepers, thats bl00dy cold isnt it! Poor Will, I hope he feels better soon and you can get a good rest. *hugs* What a night! How did you go tonight??

MARYDEAN - How has E been? Im glad to hear your getting some more sleep .......along with E! I would like some cleaning vibes too!! Arghhhhhhhhh I just cant keep up! How is Mr Marydean?? Glad he has taken some time off work.

We had a great family day yesterday. We made pancakes in the morning. Went to Freo and walked around the markets. Thought of Noni when I bought Rory a tie-dyed singlet haha. We left when it got a bit crowded, no one gives way for prams haha. Poor DH doesnt have the pram maneuverability that I have developed over the post 7 + months! Then we had fish and chips at Joe's fish shack which is by the boat harbour. Then we went to the other markets and bought English LOLLIES YUM! It was so nice to spend time together.
Rory slept 12 hours last night, he must of been pooped from his big day out. And I slept all night too thanx to a couple glasses of wine. The past few weeks I have got into a habbit of waking up, thinking and not falling back asleep until 1/2 hr later!

Im going to join Rory in swimming lessons . DH's dad wants to take him so I compromised and offered to take him every 2nd Saturday. We dont really see much of DH's family so I thought it would be good.

Has anyone here got a bebedelice???? I am thinking about buying one. Do you think that it is a waste of money?? I wonder how long bubs eat puree food for?? Do you think i will only get a few months use out of it?

    Hi Girls!

I have to apologise first about this post as I am about to burst and I need some sympathetic ears...

Guess how much sleep we've had since Friday night?? maybe 2 hours. Since about 1am friday leila has been screaming non-stop every 10 minutes. she went to childcare and every since then hasn't been right. she has obviously caught another lurgy, except this time is really stressing her out. last night was the worst. i think that all up i got about 20 minutes (and not all in a row!). she was going blue in the face from all the screaming. we tried every trick in the book, rocking, cuddling, BF everything. i am shattered as is DH. this is WORSE than when she was a newborn. maybe we were too lucky in the beginning with a bub that slept her 10-12 hours from 6 weeks, and now we are paying for it!
i just dont know what to do. i tried your trick MD of visualising a warm comforting environment for her and it worked for a bit, as i started to relax, but then after a couple of hours my visualising just turned into a fog! arrghhhhh! if it is like this tonight, i am going to crack.

anyway, i am ranting and raving like a hooligan...

    sorry for no personals...will BBL...

    hello ladies

shocking night here last night as well. it took me 2 hours to get lewis to sleep, finally he fell asleep on my lap on the couch watching big brother, so i thought 'ok, i'll just leave him here for a while and then try to sneak him into bed'....but no! dp decides to come in and sit next to us and laugh his head off at f88king nobbi or whatever his name is getting upset cos terri is back! gggrrr. wakes up lewis....lewis is still awake and laughing and going stupid at 11.30pm! i was so angry, went crazy at dp, he called me a 'nutjob'...wtf is a nutjob??? and slept in the spare room. nice....

fianne- thanks for tips about bonds ads, that boy with his bum sticking up in the easysuits ad is the cutest thing ever!

md- were you a teacher too? did you teach english/lit?? i didn't know that....thanks for tips about librarian, i have actually considered that, except that i have a really loud voice. the librarians at school used to hate it when i took my class in there because i laugh a lot! they would give me dirty looks. not sure i could work in such a quiet environment...i'm not sure what i'm going to do career wise. i'm primary trained as well so i've been keeping my eyes open for a part time local primary job but they're hard to come by.

sherie- your hair sounds great. i love no fuss hair, it's the best. my hair is so boring atm...just don't have time to do anything about it...

noni- that jacket sounds great...i love patchwork stuff

renee- ooohh i love family days, especially ones that include fish and chips!!
we didn't do too much touristy stuff this time, just took them down to phillip island to see some wildlife but we saw one penguin and then they wanted to go to the pub! sorry you have no news yet about your aunty..

clare- omg!!! you poor thing...is it worth taking her to the doctor? sounds horrible. did dh have towork today??

Renee, I'm trying not to post too many times a day (uh oh think I'm addicted) but I couldn't help but get back on and say DON'T BUY the Bebedelice~!!! It has got to be the single most silly and unnecessary thingo marketed to first time parents! Trust me if you had more than one child you would scoff and turn the page. They eat sloppy puree/have bottles for such a short time, plus it is sooooo expensive! There's nothing you can do with it that you can't do with a kettle, a microwave and a $30 Bamix! Sooo jealous of your Freo day out, it's such a gorgeous little neck of the woods over there. Mr MD is just fine and has recovered nicely from his travels abroad. I can't believe your aunty's dr went on holidays without making an arrangement for her to get her results (must've really needed that holiday)! Also if it's not TMI, how much bleeding were you having? I'm asking cos i've been spotting constantly and not sure if it's worth running to the drs about (she thinks I'm neurotic after I insisted on the breast ultrasound last year haha).

    ***BREAKING MD NEWS***
Bettyboops is booked to start FDC on Monday!! In the end, couldn't find anyone nearly as good as the lady across the road, and the days all work out...it's limited hours now but she'll have a fullday spot next year so if anything it's just another nice excuse to stay at home a few more months before I return to work.

Clare, oh hugs hun. It will pass, she will sleep again. Til then, stagger some naps with your DH when you can, every second of sleep you get will help. If E has a dreadful night I drag her to the drs just to check no invisible infection, but otherwise just remember she can sleep and will sleep again. xxxx

Gracie, no I made it 2nd year of Bach Ed but bailed for greener pastures. Haven't actually completed an undergrad degree (hence going back to become a 'proper librarian'). The loud voice thing is a myth, all the librarians I know are the most raucous ppl in the whole library. There are lots of different sorts of libraries too, school, university libraries, research libraries, government libraries (like the one I work at, we select info, teach the employees how to research, etc) as well as public libraries (where most of the staff you talk to are *not* librarians). Also you can do all sorts of interesting research jobs with a lib qual, I know someone who went off ot write papers for the institute of criminology (!). PM me if you want to ask any q's about it.

MD, that sounds great about the FDC. About the spotting you're having, I wouldn't have a clue if that is normal or not for a BF mum? Does it bother you at all?

Clare, oh hun, that must have been awful for you. I wish there was something I could do to help you out. have you tried giving her infant panadol/nurofen? If it is a lurgy she's picked up, especially a viral one, it may not manifest itself as anything obvious for a few days, so just see if that works?

Gracie, I would have kicked him in his nutjob LMAO He could at least have helped you entertain him for the duration.

Renee, I wouldn't buy it - even if I was a first time mum LOL. I saw one on sale for $170 on an online baby shop website and I nearly choked at the price. It really isn't worth it. I have a $10 stick blender from woolies that works just fine. I'm so peeved for you that no one has any Dr news yet - hardly good for their stress levels is it? We went to Perth for our honeymoon and we passed through fremantle quickly on a tour thing (the motorised stage coach thing and a cook swan river cruise) and we dearly wanted to stay there and have a good poke about the place but we just didn't have the time.

Got AF just like clockwork today - bang on 36days. I will have to wait and see how it turns out pain-wise though and if it's bad I'm off to the Dr about it.

Sherie - It is very expensive isnt it! The Huggies website raved about it. I think ill stick to my food processor, pot & stove top! Come to think of it, I wouldnt have room for it anyway haha. Half of our impulse kitchen purchases are sitting in the shed......soda stream, coffee machine, novelty toaster LOL!! Im sure it would just end up in the shed with the rest!

MD - Ah hah, just as I thought! I didnt think I would get much use out of it.
It was really odd bleeding, one day it would be really dark blood yet light flow, and the next it would be heavy but bright red. All over the place really. TBH I thought the Dr would give me script for a new pill and I would be on my way but he was quite concerned. *sigh* Now my mind has been wondering since my appointment last week.

Claire - how is she feeling today? You two must be exhausted with that little sleep.

Renee - I agree with MD on the bebedelice. It's so much easier to prepare stuff lots in advance too, I did a couple of days where I just cooked and froze things in ice cube trays so haven't had to prepare anything (except avocado and banana) for K in more than 2 weeks!

MD - YAY on the FDC!!! That is great that you have a spot and right across the road will be handy for drop off and you can pop across and feed her if needed (she wasn't good at taking a bottle was she?)

I don't think I mentioned I have an emotional attachment to Freo too, we were there when I was newly pregnant with DD1 and had a gorgeous little babymoon holiday ~ fond memories of the place overlaid with the worst morning sickness I ever had LOL.

Cally she drinks from her cup ok now, I'll send some solid food and a couple of drinks. She won't perish in five hours!

Re the bleeding, I've just never had it like this. AF behaved strangely too. Will ask the dr next time I'm there.

That alone is more than enough reason to never go near it LMAO - me thinks they might have a vested interest in plugging it

I have decided to buy a heap of glass jar baby food and make some purees and do them as preserves, so that way I don't have to freeze anything and I don't have to defrost it either. If anyone is interested in doing it, just keep your jars, clean them and when you are making your purees, wash the jars again in hot soapy water and put them in a warm oven to dry (both the jars and the lids). Once the puree is ready, put it into the jars while everything is hot (jars, lids and food) and put the lids on, holding down the bit in the middle. Once they have cooled (on the bench), the jar will have re-pressurised and sealed again (as the food cools in the hot jars, it will suck down the lid), just like they are brand new

Renee, good to see you. Your family must be p1ssed off having to wait so long for results! I would be on the phone constantly annoying them about it.

MD, congrats on the FDC. It will be very handy having her just across the road. Yes, we are in the sticks! I didn't realise the lack of resources (esp medical) until the panadol epic. And after all that we didn't even end up needing it lol

    Noni, how are you going?

Gracie, I regret the career I chose too. Luckily I won't have to work for a few more years. I was planning to retrain while at home with W but we are miles from the closest uni and all the courses I want to do have block courses away from home and I can't leave Will.

Cas, Hope that Miss L is feeling better today, I feel very sorry for you - must be horrible seeing her that upset

Sherie, W can sort of clap too - we say 'paki paki' (maori for clap) and he does it but sometimes it is one hand one fist and sometimes he just hits whatever is closest lol

Will has learnt how to share with the dog lol. For the last couple of days when he picks up his old nappies and I ask where it goes he takes me over to the dog and pushes the nappy in her face. It is so funny, the poor dog looks disgusted and walks away and he chases her, I think he is trying to get it in her mouth.

    Hi Girls,

Thanks for the support to you all!

Sherie: i gave her two doses of panadol yesterday. one in the morning and the other around 1.30am last night. nada. for the first time it had no impact. usually when i give it to her she goes to sleep for at least a couple of hours. so i guess it's back to square one on that one.
that the pain won't be too bad with AF. i know the anxiety that can come with that!

I'll take her down to the DRs tomorrow and have her checked out. I kept her at home last week, figuring that after the last cold (the one with the rash) that she needed time away from childcare to boost her immune, so am pretty bummed that we are back on the rollercoaster of lurgies so fast.
Also, i have to say that i am now tempted pull her out of this child care. i have my sneaking suspicions that they are not doing a great job. on thursday they 'forgot' to feed her lunch (it is written on a BIG whiteboard at the front of the room), and on friday they 'forgot' to give her her sleeps... i dont think they were counting on me checking out the day planner that they have to write on to keep track of the bubs. so am not very happy. DH is going in there today to ask what is going on as the regular carer has disappeared and for the last 3 weeks the bubs have had different ppl everyweek...

    anyway enough from me!

Gracie: I agree with Sherie...his 'nutjob' comment would have opened up a whole can of whoop-ass!

Pregpan: If the librarian thing is to your liking i recommend looking into becoming a children's librarian. my mum did her bachelor of education (primary), realised that she didnt like the politics of school staff rooms so had a career change about 3 years ago. she now is the childrens lib for the townsville magnetic island region and is having a blast. (yes, she gets to go to magnetic island and read books to kids under palm trees...and gets paid to do it!). i have to say that i find the concept tempting myself! he he he!

Renee: dont you love it when drs get concerned then tell you to wait until the next appointment for more info??? just like a soap opera! I'm still holding out hope that it's a BF thing, i had intermittent spotting in the months leading up to my first AF after leila... it's just something boring and hormonal that will pass. also your system does take awhile to adjust to the pill and get on a cycle. so maybe it's a symptom of that. good that you are getting checked out though, peace of mind at least.
