Alison - Liam's been the same during the daytime - he's been awake far more (and thankfully awake and not grizzling for a decent portion of that time). The hardest thing is getting him to take naps some days - he just stays awake and gets overtired after a while, which makes it really difficult for him to get to sleep.

Did you manage to find another nipple shield? I know that my local chemist sells them, so hopefully most chemists do.

Hi to everyone else

AFM - Kind of tired today (just for something new). We went to visit friends for a couple of hours last night, and Liam decided that he wanted to be really grizzly and unsettled over at their place. Thankfully he settled down when we got home, but it was still pretty wearying.

And for those who asked - the hospital staff had no real idea why I got the nausea etc after birth - it was either a reaction to the drugs used for the induction and pain relief or a hormonal reaction. I think it's probably more likely to have been the latter - I've also been having hot flashes on and off, especially when I breastfeed. I guess my body is just sensitive to the hormones.
