Nic - I'm a bit like that too. The more I read, the more baffled I become, LOL. I will, however, read up a little on my rights when having a caesar so that I know what boundaries I can push next time round. I guess I don't want to know so much about the actual procedure but what I can and can't demand (eg. skin to skin contact straight away - I didn't get that with Gabby. I even got told off for looking at her feet whilst in recovery!! Grrrr! Shoulda slapped that nurse stupid!!).
Ouchies @ the IV having to be put in twice. When I hollered when they put something through the IV when the procedure had already started, they talked about putting it in the other hand. The thought of them doing it again scared the crap outta me so I just said, "If it's working, don't worry about it. I'll just put up with the pain!". There was no way I was going to let them jab me in the other hand! I could see that the darn thing was working fine. I think they ended up putting a local in my hand to stop it from hurting so much?? I really can't remember. I was rather spaced-out after that. I think the events leading up to the caesar had sent me a little la-la... plus I threw up laying flat on my back so that was a bit to deal with, LOL.
