Go Sopdet!!! Start with the 4km and next time aim for the 8km. Wouldn't want to carry an injury to your holiday

Not sure what is going on this week. I am feeling really sluggish and am always starving. I mean straight after I have finished my dinner I'm starving. I'm eating all day long and can't satisfy my hunger. I am drinking 1.5 - 2 litres of water. I'm varying my diet. I am making sure I mainly eat filling and healthy foods and eating nearly my entire points allowance (i have a 40 point allowance due to b/f). Any ideas ladies?

Liv, maybe you're just adjusting? Although sluggish suggests exercise isn't right? How much sleep are you getting?

Sopdet greet weekend! Yay on the fun run!

Afm, weighed in this morning, still 74.8. YAYAAA! Have found that just taking one bag to work with my workout gear in it works better for me, no excuse of lugging 3 bags around! (handbag, laptop, gear and sometimes lunch)

Dan it could simply be sugar cravings? Have you cut out much? I find if I do cut it right down that my cravings increase and I start thinking about chocolate before I have even finished dinner! As for feeling sluggish, how much exercise are you doing?? Is it digestion sluggish feelings? Peppermint tea might help. Are you doing meetings or just online - maybe you could ask on the forum or at meetings hun??

Sopdet - Good luck hun - super mega green but I hope you have fun!

Kaz that is awesome hun!! How many days are you going to the gym??

Everyone else, sorry I can't read back and have a shocking headache!! Food still a problem here, wish i could just STOP myself eating bad stuff :headwall: Exercise has stalled too because of my shin splints but am going to have to join the gym I think so I can get some bike and swimming in while my shin gets better.

    Back later chicks!

Minimal loss this morning, but I did get the AF bloat overnight, to the point that my clothing options had to change & I now look pregnant. Oh well just makes me more determined to have an awesome loss next week

Tan - I'm scared about next weekend, but even if I do a repeat of this last weekend & jog slowly for most of it I will be happy that I achieved it and finished I proved to myself that I can run, ok it was really slow but I RAN!!!!!!!!!

    Hi all!

Well I am finally back on the wagon properly! I tracked my cals and exercise with MFP, and I was eating DOUBLE my allocated amount, thinking I had been eating fairly well, and doing alot of exercise!
So this morning, I have weighed and measured (eeekkkk!!!) after not doing it for about 6weeks. I have put on more weight and CM's from my last official weigh in and measure which I wrote down weeks ago. Booohooo. But it is motivation. I have lost a kilo since I last weighed myself, but didn't take note of it (so about 3-ish weeks ago).
Today I have done really well. I did some weight bearing exercises from a magazine I found, lol. But it had my muscles working, which is the aim! It is windy as here today and is blowing a dust storm, so I am not going out to walk in that. I will do some wii fit tonight though.

3lm - if you've got an iphone you can get some good (and free) exercise apps, I've got a few for specific things (like cardio, legs, arms etc), I just mix them up in amongst the 12wbt exercises.

    Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd pop in to see how you're all going (lol, most of you might not even remember me in this thread it's been THAT long!).

I see a lot of challenges being made, a lot of positive encouraging words to each other and most importantly - a lot of determination!

Quick question...How do you all 'monitor' your success? Is it a number on the scales? Do you measure with a tape? Do you just go on how you physically feel or what?

    Work hard and play hard

I'm doing the Michelle Bridges 12wbt so my monitoring is a mixture of numbers on scales, measurements & fitness levels. We weigh every week & every 4 weeks do the fitness test. I think the measurements are done every 4 weeks too.

I just signed up for the 2012 Brooks Spring into Shape Series, first race is next weekend & I've taken a huge step and will be doing the 4km run. I don't care if the walkers pass me, I will do the run and finish the whole thing running.

WB hun! I use a few things, like when I plateued and have again a bit, I still go off how I feel, feeling sluggish this week from shin splints and not doing much exercise but last week was feeling great because I knew my body was changing even though the scales haven't moved!

Sop - I wish I was up for running I would do the 4 km with you = you will kick a@@ hun, the adrenaline will keep you motivated and you will do great!

You are going to kick a$$ on your run Sop!!! We'll all be here cheering you on.

I have weigh in again tomorrow morning. Not expecting as good as normal loss as today I've done nothing but boredom eat. Going to be interesting.

My goal next week is to introduce exercise. I have been doing the eating/points for a month and my supply is exactly the same so I'm confident I'll be able to start exercising without risking it dropping. Slow steps but I WILL GET THERE!!!

    That's awesome Sopdet!!!

Tan, I know that feeling. I've been feeling quite sluggish the past few days, I don't have shin splints to blame though. I have to admit I'm not feeling quite as inspired atm, but I am doing my best to get out of my slump - I'm going running with a friend tomorrow, and I have entered an 8km fun run for Sunday. Getting out exercising in the fresh air ought to get me going again (I hope!).

    Liv - go go go!

Ladybird - to answer your question, the numbers on the scale going down help, but fitting into clothes and liking what I see in the the mirror are probably the biggest senses of achievement - as well as being able to beat my times running, etc.

Had a good week, really clean eating and exercising each day - until af arrived yesterday and bam! Why do I struggle to eat well when she's here - it sucks. Trying to get back on the straight and narrow and stay on track till she disappears!

    Good luck tomorrow Dan!!

Yay for Fiji Ausgirl - I am with you on AF - I crave chocolate the week prior - and I mean the WHOLE week

Ate my body weight in cookie dough today and then ate 3 chocolate nutella cookies that I made with the kids - wtf? I am feeling SO disgusting, headachy and sick (obviously talk about serious sugar overload!) anyway I will go for a light jog tomorrow - shin splints or not I need to get out and my body is craving a run. Will ease up if it twinges and walk but otherwise will do a very slow jog - realised how much faster I have gotten when looking back on my runkeeper stats - was running around and above 8.5 mins per km and now am around 7.3 - would love to get under 7 but will take some time now that I am injured!

Off to bed to sleep off this sugar high Have a great weekend all!

Tan last weekend at Centennial Park we had walkers pass us that is how slow my running is. My bestie messaged me this week to tell me she did the same loop as we did in 19 mins (I took 37mins), she wasn't saying it to gloat, but to give me something to work towards.

If you're up for it, the last race of the series, I've booked in for the 8km, it isn't until later on in the year (late Nov from memory).

AF hit at 3am today, so I'm in bed with painkillers. No training at all for me today Might try to do something light this afternoon before I head to the hairdressers (suppose I could walk briskly around Chaddy this afternoon to burn some cals). I will do a prinny loop tomorrow, don't care how slow it is I'm going to use RunKeeper to measure me door-to-door (the joys of living near the park means getting to and from the park is my warm up & warm down). Am also going to walk home every day next week on top of my morning exercise.

I'm so blessed to have so much support IRL with my weight loss & exercise.

I'm keeping my eye on the prize (well there are two), first one is to get up and down the volcano in Hawaii and the 2nd one is to reach all my goals on the 12wbt (weight goal - down to the weight I was when I was 22. fitness goal - run 5km without stopping).

I would definitely be interested, especially if I don't do the 10km Melb Marathon - am going for a slow jog today to see how I pull up. Leg hasn't twinged for a few days so I might be ok if I warm up properly and cool down and take it easy.

I am still slow too hun, my mate wants me to run with him but he is tall and super fit and his slow jog is 5.5-6 mins per km and I am at over 7 on a relatively quick run!
A leisurely walk might do your back good this arvo too - hope you are feeling better and the painkillers kick in. I am going to track track track again - been slack and it might help me think before I eat skittles and cookie dough

I will be back for personals but I need to get this out.

I have completely sabotaged myself. I was sailing along nicley. Not craving anything terribly hideous, exercising well, sticking to the plan etc. I was giving myself Saturdays 'off' but found I was still sticking fairly closely with it anyway. Then last Wednesday I hosted an arvo tea for two GFs birthdays....and it went to poo from there. The bloating is back with a huge carb intake and I cannot stop eating....

No point really. Just need to put it out to the universe. I was enjoying myself, and feeling great and energetic. Now I feel like crap...I don't want to feel like this and I know what I need to do....why the heck can't I do it?

Kim I have been the same but you know what, the fact that we can recognise it before it's too late is really important. In the past I would have a terrible week like I have had then keep going until I have gained lots of weight, instead I have realised I have fallen badly off and will get back to it. Just recognise it was a bad week and set a plan in motion for the next one hun xoxoxo
