A massive WOOHOO to those who've lost some weight this week !!!!

I only have a minor woohoo to report as I'm not really 'able' to do too much in the way of exercise at the moment (c/section 3 wks ago), so any loss is a bonus for me. But I did lose 5 cms from around my waist in one week . Yup, I know its just my uterus shrinking and loss of 'products' lol, but I'll take it! I can still fit my legs into my size 10 jeans (just not do them up...YET), but my size 12's are sooo close to being able to do up - if it wasn't for the c/s scar I'd be in them I reckon....

JBM - Yup - growing babies is hard work. Maybe a walk will help rejuvenate you?

That's awesome!!! How do you feel?

Well, today.......I phoned up and made an appointment with.....*gulp* Jenny Craig! I have a consultation appointment on Monday arvo! I hope it is something I can stick too. Motivation is not my strongest point in this haze atm.

Mr Squidipa CONGRATULATIONS thats fantastic news.

Vixstar way to go on making the call. I think that can be one of the hardest hurdles to get over. I am thinking of calling Tony fergusion but someone told me they don't tailor meals/plans for BF mummies. I'd have to wait until after the end of the financial year (till my finances improve) and I hope to call and ask.

Well I was disappointed when I had weigh in this morning and haven't lost anyweight what so ever. Its been 4days since I weighed myself (ok thats not long) but I expected a 100grams atleast. I guess atleast I haven't put anything on. Its only been 8-9days and usually the weight falls off easily to start with before getting harder so I am feeling so discouraged right now. It must be the extra protein I started eating, lack of exercise. I've exercised 3times this week but I guess that I will need to increase that more and reduce my proportion size. Hopefully next Thursday will show a loss even small or else I am giving up. So loss in 9days since I started is 0.7kilos which is what it was at 5days.

Mr Squidipa - well done!!! That's awesome! You must be so pleased with yourself!

Vixstar - woo hoo, well done to you too. What's that saying, the journey of 100 miles starts with 1 step (or something like that!). I reckon doing the first thing is the scariest bit. You can do it!!

JBM - if you get m/s, I remember reading that walking helps the nausea. And I find I NEVER felt like walking in first tri (felt so tired/nauseas) but it's true, I always felt better afterwards.

Hopefully next Thursday will show a loss even small or else I am giving up. So loss in 9days since I started is 0.7kilos which is what it was at 5days.
Oh that does sound discouraging, but please try to remember a) a loss IS a loss. and b) pls pls don't give up! My DH has spent a MONTH trying to lose and got nowhere, and we thought it was cos of his meds, but we've gotten more "scientific" (lol) about it, and finally he's losing. We just had to re-examine his snacks and increase his exercise (daily walking is really helping). Remember if you give up, you won't have a chance of losing. But if you keep trying you will! And maybe it's just finding exactly the right combination of food/exercise for you? I had the same thing happen on one of my early stop-start attempts and lost very little but then suddenly lost more. So please don't hinge it all on one weigh-in, that breakthrough loss could be just around the corner . Oh and the other thing, your cycle can really mess with your weight too.

    Well hello hello

Yes. It has been way too long since my last post in this thread. I have really gone downhill with my eating, and gained 15 kilos since my wedding in November last yeah Far out. What a wake up call when your 3 year old daughter tells you, "mum, your bum cheeks are really, really big!". PMSL. Ahh they're so honest aren't they??!

I've been feeling so down in dumps about my appearance, none of my clothes are fitting, and I'm too broke to buy some fat clothes, lol. So this morning, randomly, I said to myself. NO. GET ON THOSE SCALES. Today is day one.

    My first goal. 10kg.

Went to IGA to get some ham and salad for lunch, and when I got home, mum was waiting for me with KFC for lunch!! haha! I was polite, thanks mum! And off she went. KFC is now sitting in the fridge, and I actually had the willpower to continue on with my plan of ham and salad! Holy **** that is huge for me! hehe.

I'm a bit of a WW hussy. Been on and off of it since I was 16 (now 26). So I totally know what is right, what is wrong. Point counting is so easy for me (when I decide to use it). So I know I can do this.

I recognise some familiar names from last time I was subscribed to this thread, and look forward to getting to know the rest of you.

Mr Squidipa CONGRATULAIONS! What a huge achievement! You should be so proud

Vixtar - Portion size is such a huge thing with weight loss. I can image how discouraged you must feel not seeing those scales move. Keep up the exercise, watch the portions and I'm sure you'll start to see some results. Sometimes even if you notice it within yourself. You *feel* healthier, happier; your skin is looking clear and fresh. It can help make you see it is worth the effort. ETA - Just read your note on the meeting with Jenny Craig! Great work!! You will do fab on it. My sister lost some weight using JC and she really liked it, I had a taste of some of her meals and they were quite yum!

Mildez - have you done TF before? I tried it once and didn't like those shakes (at all), so didn't last too long. Buy jeeze I've seen some success stories on it! Looking forward to tax time myself too! haha! Yes, healthy food is expensive! And you seem to eat soo much fruit and vege, the fruit shop becomes your second home.

Leesa - Nice work on being able to get those size 10's on (even if the button isn't quite there). You're such an inspiration! Hope bubby is going well

JBM - I missed your PA. Congratulations! Yes growing a baby is definitely hard work. Rest up x

Belfie - Are you and your DH dieting together?? How cool is that! My hubby is good like that too, if I decide to eat well, he'll just eat what he's given and doesn't complain. Thanks for the tip. I'm terrible with drinking water and often have to remind myself. Never really eating legumes.. or nuts and seeds. Might have to give them a go! And YES! Breast feeding is awesome for weightloss. I chunked most of this 15 kg back on when I weaned DS at 14 months.

Anyway, sorry if I've missed anyone. I'm really looking forward to having you all kick my butt if if I decide to eat crap, or don't do any exercise. xxoo

I am doing terribly (she says as she sits there eating a chocolate brownie ) I was going to just sneakily not post ehre anymore for the shame, but I have to be real. I need to lose weight. I know it. I need to get fitter. I know that too. It's tough. Another thing I know. I need to get off my butt and do it. There's the bump in the road! DH isn't being much of a support. He's struggling too. He needs to lose weight too. It's just really tough right now. Neither of us is sleeping much between kids and nights shifts for him. But we have to keep on trying. I may or may not be posting here much. But I will keep up and I will keep on trying to get on and stay on that wagon. I will be trying hard not to let it leave me behind....

Lilias, I know how you're feeling. Atleast you have the courage to post in here still. That's HUGE. It means you're not letting yourself totally forget about your goal.

I sneakily didn't post in here anymore. And weightloss was in the back of my mind, because I even clicked on the "unsubscibe" button, lol. Guess what? I gained another 7 kilos! Keep posting and remember in the end, its just willpower Admittedly something I too lack (haha), but we can do it together! We all can Enjoy that brownie, but just don't go back for seconds!! You better not girl!! Or I'll kick your butt!! hehehehe xxoo

Lilias... wot tellytubby said . I posted on & off in here a few times... and unsubscribed too but now I'm back and finally getting there. Just think of it as one "wagon fall-off" that's now out of the way . It's hard when you both need to lose. My DH needs to lose about 13kg (according to him, I reckon 15kg ), but he's found it so hard to get started. Thing is we know we both do better when we're both trying... and also it's sooo tempting to enable each other's bad habits. And once you're tired as well... aaah so much harder. Hang in there, keep posting. Tomorrow is another day and best of all YOU'RE STILL HERE!

More excitingly tho, my DH dropped 1.3kg this week! WOO HOO finally we've got it working for him. I'm so stoked.

Belfie thats great that both you and your DH have had a weight loss and that you have each other to motivate each other. I so wish my DH would be supportive. He has the opposite problem been super skinny. Wish he would gain some weight. His not supportive at all except for expecting me to be the weight I was when we met (26kilos lighter then I currently am) Half way is so close for you. Your basically there now.

Lilias I have been in here before when they were also doing that wii fit challenge at the same time and I stopped posting. It can be so hard especially when you have so much going on with the family and no time for yourself and no support. Your situation sounds tough.

Tellytubby I did the same thing almost 2weeks ago. I just woke up in the middle of the night and thought no today is the day and I am GOING to do this. After reading a post Lilias said about needing cold hard facts I weighted myself. I was to scared to know the truth until that moment and I did and I'm so glad I did as its motivated me to stay on it a little longer then I had in previous attemps (We are only approaching 2weeks now but lol) Plus I have goals to try and achieve now. Next is 80kgs which is 5kilos away. I'm hoping I get there in June sometime.

Well yesterdat I had a bad bad day. I was feeling so depressed that I let myself slip up so bad. But then I picked myself up at 9pm and got on the wii fit and forced myself to do 30mins of exercise. Now it wouldn't have been as good as a walk or something but atleast I forced myself to do it instead of going to bed. So today is another day and FX yesterdat will not jepodise my whole entire week and mean no weight loss again.

Belfie - well done on the loss! Especially while AF is in the house, I'm always so bloated during that time. And double woohoo for your hubby! 1.3 is awesome!! I bet he is super excited! Seeing those scales go down is the best motivation of all. You guys are working so well together, well done on the team work

Mildez - Well done on getting on the wii fit last night!! Very proud of you. I"m so terrible when I slip up, I totally have the attitude of "ahh I've stuffed up now, might as start again next week". LOL! Its not even start "tomorrow". Its NEXT WEEK! hahaha. No wonder I chunk it on so easily! I would LOVE a wii fit. I have the xbox kinect atm, and its great, BUT our lounge room is too small, so to play on it I need to do some funiture moving - such a pita so I always put it in the too hard basket. You're doing so well for being on week two! Don't knock yourself over it. The first week is soo hard, and you're already well past it. You're going great - keep it up!

AFM - Man I am SOOOOO glad I posted in here yesterday. I've been wanting to eat, and eat, and eat. The only thing that is stopping me is you guys! I keep thinking. So what am I going to tell them?! That I couldn't even last 1 day / 2 days ?? And then unsubscribe! haha. So without knowing it, you guys are helping me SO much! Thank you!

What is everyone's weakness??? Mine is without a doubt hot chips. Oh I could eat them all day. Mmmm.

Doing well though. Family had a hot chook and chips for lunch. So I had a chicken breast without the skin, a nice big salad, and a slice of bread instead. A much healhtier option.

Also, do any of you have any tips on how to supress hunger?? I normally have a cup of coffee. But wondering if any of you have any more ideas?

Thanks again for keeping me inline! haha

    xxoo

tellytubby what I do when I am hungry (when I am been good) is either have a cup of tea, I eat weight watchers jelly as its 0 points or have a bowl of soup I make. The soup consists of only 0point vegies so usually carrot, onion or leek, cabbage, green beans, zucchini etc then I use the water its boiled in and add a low fat tomato soup to give it more flavour. In weight watchers points I would say its only about 1/2point per serve. It is my saving grace when I am hungry or sometimes I will also eat it just before dinner so I only have a very tiny meal as otherwise I am usually such a pig. Bub is crying BBL.

Me too, for me it's the clod weather and terrible boredom. But the only thing stopping me is that we have no junk in the house and I would have to get dressed properly to go out and get something! And I barely lasted 2 days (I think it was 2...maybe 3??) before I fell off the wagon. DH doesn't help. He enables me and buys me the junk when I feel like it but I'm too lazy to go to the shops myself. The other day he got me a huge hamburger and chips for lunch. I wanted to say no, but he was so proud that he'd thought of me and brought lunch and I didn't have to make it!

With supressing hunger, when I was smaller, I used to have a drink of water and wait 15mins before I ate anything. Alot of the time, I was thirsty not hungry. And if I really was hungry, then I would have a green apple, few sticks of celery or a carrot, go out and do something like hang washing out or something before eating again and re-assess if I was hungry for more. Or try to distract yourself with things. Have a list of things you can do instead of eat. Or have a cup of soup, but the ones which are just the broth not with noodles or the creamy ones.

Really need to start taking my own advice again!!

I have been ok today. Not great, but haven't had anything bad. Just not really striving for the best balance of foods. I haven't had any fruit and have had too much carbs as usual! Not enough water either. No exercise at all. Ah well, at least I haven't had a hamburger and chips! Or chocolate, chips, lollies....or anything terrible like that. As much as I am dying to sit and eat all of the crap I can get my hands on! DH is going onto a few nights worth of night shifts now, which is where I fall down alot, due to being a bit of a single mummy and not getting alot of sleep, I don't cope with little sleep. So trying to mentally prepare myself!

Tellytubby - sooooo glad to see a familiar name in here! As for your question about weaknesses - for me its not really the food, its the bad habits that DH engages in. He is a shocker. His usual line is 'come on, its just one bit of chocolate' or 'come on, what is one mouthful of ice cream going to do?' - and if I'm not 'trying' to be good I could easily go off the rails and just eat those bad foods he brings into the house. So now I just say 'yeah, one bite won't do much, but it pushes me further, not closer to my goal' and that statement alone reminds me to bring out my female stuborness and not give into temptation (sounds like I'm at church now ).
To supress hunger - honestly thats not something I'd entertain hun. I suggest plenty of water (to make sure you are in fact hungry), after 10 mins you still feel hungry, try to opt for protein sources (almonds are a good 'nut' to eat) as it helps you feel fuller for longer.

Lilas - you've done well hun - even if you haven't exercised you have eaten well so thats a good step forward! Giving you a virtual pat on the back

Mildez - I find that doing exercise last thing in the day (after you've eaten your last piece of food) was the quickest way for me to lose my weight (after having DS). So much so that i intend to exercise the same way again once I get the 'all clear' in a few weeks. So well done to you!!

Belfie - well done on your loss! Considering AF is here then I'd guess you're in for a brilliant result next week hun!

AFM - my first mini goal was to get into the 67's....and I weighed in this morning at 67.8 - so I was stoked. Oh, and guess who did up those size 12 jeans this morning and wore them on a shopping trip to the City? I'm itching to get back onto the spin bike, it's calling me!! Surely some light cycling can't hurt...right? I'm going to give it a crack and see how I feel. Even if I just sit on the seat to help re-adapt myself to good ole 'bike seat butt' hehe!
