PCOS - over it

Sorry I have only just seen this thread,

I am another one with PCOS. I was going through the same as you Leanne a few years ago no matter what I did I still put on a kilo a week until I got stuck at 69kg. I am only 5ft so for me this was huge amount of weight. I spent money on dieticians, weight watchers and a gym membership that never worked. Specialists that would just keep weighing me and saying "oh well your doing everything right keep going". I finally after 12mths of trying and deciding I wasn't shelling out anymore money I lost my 1st kilo. I got back down to 64kg where I stayed until I got pg with DS.

Now I am back to square one I gained 15kg's with my pg and I was told it was mostly water retention. I lost 5kg's when DS was born and kept the 10....hmmm still waiting for all the water to disperse and he's 6mths...lol

I was just wondering what "fatty liver" is and what the effects are? I have had blood tests done since having DS as I thought I may have got diabetes and have hbp due to the extra weight, but they didn't say anything about my liver.

The fatty liver thing can really only be diagnosed via ultrasound. They ordered one for me when my liver function tested slightly out, and discovered that my liver has fatty deposits through it. It means that my liver is sluggish and doesn't cope with too much fat. Eating a very fatty meal can trigger terrible pains rather like gall attacks, but I have no gall stones. I don't know for sure if it is linked to the PCOS diagnosis or not, as my liver problems were active around 7 years ago, while we've only known about the PCOS for two and a half years.
