You know, I think sometimes all parents really need is to feel they have permssion to follow their hearts. There's so much advice out there to stomp all over our instincts and damage that bond between mother and baby - there's no reason to feel bad offering an alternative. You know: you dont' have to let them cry. It's ok to feed them to sleep, or rock them or take them to bed with you or whatever if that's what they like.
This really stuck with me! I tjhought of it today when I saw a friends status that said "ok doing the nasty mummy thing put Patrick in his cot to have a sleep and all he doing is crying dont think i can leave him much longer will have to go get him "
My response was "We always go by the motto of, if it doesn't feel right then we don't do it. Trust your mummy instincts, and if that means getting him out then get him out. xxx"

I felt good writing it, feeling very supportive :-) I got shot down of course, which was annoying, so I wrote "All I was trying to say was, in response to her first post, if it doesn't feel right, don't feel like you have to do it just because other people say it is right for them. I like the quote "If they were right, I'd agree, but it's them they know, not me."
(thanks for the quote Mel hehe)

I still feel great, and got a few likes which is always good for the ego LMAO. But I wanted to share, not for my ego lol though it could use some inflation, but just to say that a post that would normally have angered me at the responses, has actually left me feeling really supportive and not really worrying too much of other peoples posts about "Don't let him win!", just knowing that my post has 'given her permission' in a sense, to trust herself, if that was in fact what she needed.
