BecD I completely understand the need for a normal life that does not revolve around blood tests scans and injections. We are having an untracked clomid cycle for a bit of a break.

TLjust wanted to wish you luck for your first day at your new job.

To everyone else hope you are all doing well.

Bec - so glad to hear that you have a new plan and a new protocol. I haven't had a cycle using Orgalutran but my understanding is that it's an antagonist cycle - a different way of stoping your body from ovulating before OPU instead of down regulation. But not being on the Synarel sounds like suuuuuch a great idea! Woohoo! Also very glad to hear that you spoke up at your appointment (re: higher dose and double transfer out in the open) for what you know will be right for you and your body. Go you I hope this new plan is a huge success and we get to see you into the pregnancy forums very soon

Janet - best of luck for you appointment on Friday! Maybe you could have a list of questions of any thing you're unsure of when you go and ask your FS. In my first appointment with my FS I had a list, and it helped me a great deal with all the things that scared me about the whole process of starting IVF/ICSI. Good Luck!

plc - thanks, hun We're getting through the pile of loose ends - just hope we don't run out of time! Sure it will be ok, though Countdown is on for both of us!

TL - Glad your AP appointment went so well, hun. Bring on that BFP! Baby baby baby making and more baby making!!

I had a shocker of a day today, negotiating the sale of our car for most of the day with a finnicky buyer, but got there in the end, now just have to organise the logistical nightmare of not having a car for close to two weeks before we leave, and lots to do before we go including service and RWC of car, transfer of car, DH being away overnight for work, DH's leaving do at work, tracking BTs in Melbourne and upcoming ET (that's for the rest of this week before Friday's over) and saying goodbye to people before we leave (that's next week) and other assorted loose ends (that's overall)! Aaaaaargh! We'll need a holiday when we arrive in UK!

But from the TTC point of view, everything is hunky dory.
Was a bit nervous about what the scan would show today, but my natural cycle is back to the norm after 2 stim cycles and an artificial thaw all back to back. 1 dominant follicle on LH side, 16mm. I'm now tracking for ovulation - OPK every morning and BT when it looks like I'm about to surge. I think surge will be Wednesday (CD14), but could be either day around it, I guess OPK will tell. ET (2 embies) two days after that, so by Saturday at latest. Yay!

Hi to all the lovelies in here that I haven't written personals to - hope you're all well.

Hi Everyone, just wanted to drop in and say a quick HI!

We had our nurses and accounts appointment on Friday (Miss C I'm going to Melbourne IVF at The Freemasons). That was all good... because I have been on OI for 7 months, a lot of the process with jabs etc is already pretty familiar. The new drugs to me are the Syneral and the Crinone. Does anyone have experience with either of those? Then the actual OPU and transfer are obviously new to me also. The OPU looks a little daunting, so really glad that I'll be sedated for that. The transfer part appears okay. So used to doctors prodding around down there now!

So now we just have to wait for AF to arrive. Can't believe that after all these months I am willing her to come my way! I'm pretty sure that I have ovulated. In fact my BB are sorer than they have ever been on the Pregnyl, especially my nipples (TMI)! I also had some spotting about what I estimate to be 4DPO. I really don't understand my body at all. The doctor told me when we cancelled this cycle that we weren't allowed to DTD for 10 days as there were too many eggs, however, we had DTD the day before she told me that. Look at me... even now I am wondering if I could be pregnant! What are your thoughts?

Miss C sounds like everything is on track. Let us know when transfer is. Have my for you. What a big few weeks with transfer and the move. I wish you so much luck.

Janet I agree that all that information can be very scary. I'm sure that you will find it much better once you have seen your FS.

Bec good luck with the new protocol. I'll be that this works for you.

Everyone I have missed, hope you are all well.

    Hi Janie Darling

Syneral is the inhaler they give you that silences your pituitary gland - basically it convinces your body you are in menopause so that you can give yourself your progesterone injections without your body going nuts. I have not had to use Crinone yet but know it is a pessary - a vaginal suppository used to support you during the luteal phase - ie after they transfer the embryo back and we all keep our fingers crossed!

    The life we lead!

    Hugs and best of luck

    Hi Janie

I'm at MIVF at the Freemasons too I can tell you that the anaesthetists at the Freemasons who do sedation for the OPU are nice - they answers questions and make you feel comfortable and confident - I've had two OPU's there. Your FS will drop in and see you and make sure you're feeling ok before the procedure too. The nurses in recovery are also lovely. I'm sure you'll be really well looked after, and they'll help calm your nerves over the procedure a bit when you're waiting to go into the operating theatre.

I've had Crinone after both of my stim cycles and it's as Adele says - a vaginal suppository. It's progesterone delivered in the form of a gel to help support your hormones in the TWW. I had to have them morning and night, but it's just as often prescribed only once a day. It gave me a bit of cramping (which is fairly common) and it's fairly normal after a few days of it to make you feel like your period is about to start (sore BB, bloating etc.). It can also sometimes cause you cervix to become irritated and give you a little bit of brown spotting (I've had that also). It's pretty yucky stuff, but you've just got to keep thinking that it's there to support your pregnancy - pregnant until proven otherwise, as Mon has often said

I thought I would just elaborate on what lovely Adele has said about the Synarel spray. It works on your pituitary gland and stops your pituitary from triggering your ovaries to produce your normal cycle hormones (as Adele said, just like going into induced menopause). This then means that the clinic has complete control over your cycle, and can stop your from ovulating naturally. This then allows them to super-stimulate your ovaries with the artificial stimulation hormones (the injections) and then trigger you to ovulate at the right time so they can collect the eggs just before ovulation occurs, without fear that you'll ovulate at the wrong time naturally. It's called down-regulation. It's fairly important that you take the Synarel exactly the same time each days, and that once you choose a time you have to stick to that time with exactly 12 hours between each dose. The effects I had from the Synarel were a few headaches when I got started (they tend to disappear after a couple of days when your hormone levels become more stable) and I gave myself a extra dose a couple of times after fearing that I hadn't inhaled it properly, which probably amounted to a double dose (silly Miss C! ) and I got a few hot flushes from those times as a result (very silly Miss C!). It also gave me mood swings, but just about every hormone in IVF has! I tend to think the mood swings are a symptom of when your hormone levels are rising or falling, rather than being stable. Stable hormones = stable mood, in my book!

Hope the info has helped, hun. Lots of people here on BB gave me heaps of info when I started my first IVF cycle, and it really helped to know some of the things that could happen, and some of the things to expect. We're all here to answer any qu's you've got and support you along the way, hun!

Lots and lots of good luck to you hun - I hope that the IVF journey is a really short one for you!

Hey Adele - how are you doing at the moment, hun?

Hello and hugs to everyone - been very quiet in the thread today!

    Hi All

I am doing great - bit sad that my 1st stim cycle was a bust but have learnt so much from the experience. I went to see my FS yesterday and we are back on the horse. Am on the pill, start Synarel 8/4/8 and injections 19/4/8. I am not sure how to feel - I thought we were going to get there and I did everything right and still AF won the day. Ooh I hates that miserable scene stealing wench.

Miss C - great news for you - I love the UK and lived there for 7 years. May all the very best come your way.

Hi Bec - hope this is the right treatment for you - Synarel is MAD isn't it.

TL - Hope your new job gives you a load of great energy.

PLC - Your positive vibes are infectious!

Hugs to all for us all!

Adele - glad to hear that you're feeling ok about the next cycle I wish you lots and lots of luck. Whereabouts did you live in the UK?

plc - yay! Not long to go, hun! You and me both! I'm excited for you!

TL - hope it's all going well today at work - can't wait to hear about your new office... when it's set up! Hope it's getting there soon. And one week to go!

Hey and hugs to all the other lovely LTTTCers in here

Had my BT today as extra precaution for picking up my LH surge, and it came back that I'm surging today, which means ET on Saturday It's a good thing for the BT too, as OPK came back really ambiguous today (sorry for TMI, but the result line got washed down the paper before it even had a chance to stick, so actually looked like a negative, except for all the lovely strong dye running past the result line after it first came up!)

Back in the TWW for a little while startin Sat, and then it's off to the UK where I'll have to get a Beta BT done over there to confirm any result. Feels a bit weird having transfer here and everything onwards over there!

    Hugs to all,

    Miss C

TL - how u going? r u fully recovered from procedure? Looks like everything is looking super positive for you right now

Hey everyone else - hope u drop in and say hi when u get the chance!!

AFM, i had these stupid heart palpatations yesterday for 20 mins after an unplanned run. Had them also 5 weeks ago but not for as long and was only in front of the computer. Went to doc and getting a heart monitor attached today for 24hrs - always something...... not worried, just annoyed. As long as nothing stands in my way re TTC when the time comes.
