I do my pizza scrolls with a scone dough rather than puff pastry as I find it is nicer the next day and cold - whereas pastry tends to be a bit soggy.

Digressing, but speaking of scone dough I have a recipe here that is basically scone dough with a couple spoonfuls of sugar in and you make cinnamon scrolls with it, so like pizza scrolls but with melted butter with cinnamon/nutmeg/cloves/sultanas/currents in it.
Very very nice, but more dessert than dinner
We've spent most of this year trying out new recipes off teh intarwebs, some have been really really nice![]()
Ohh - Can someone give me a good scone dough recipe that you know works properly. I might do with scone dough instead of puff pastry. The cinnamon scrolls sound delish!![]()
Here you go:
2 cups SR flour
pinch salt
3/4 cup milk
1 tab butter
(I use powdered milk - about a tablespoon and use 3/4 cup water)
Rub butter into flour (and milk powder if you use that) and salt
Cut in milk until a smooth consistency.
Then I just roll out into a rectangle, add my toppings, roll up and slice and put onto tray. I usually sprinkle a bit of extra cheese over the top before baking.
Thanks ausgirl. Might to a practise run tomorrow
