ooh, i didn't think i got to have another scan... is the 4D scan one that you organised of your own accord, or did Dennis recommend it?

lol - no, this is one I have organised, but with Dennis' blessing.

He knows I have issues accepting that everything is OK with this pregnancy and also that I "need" to confirm the sex for my own piece of mind.

He and I have had several discussions about these issues, so he is happy for me to have it to ease my mind.

I just had the standard 12 and 20 week scans with the boys though.

    Hi girls,

Been to see Dr D. All is great. The GD test came back normal, BP was spot on and bubs is growing nicely with head down, bum up!

I have my referral for the 4d Scan now, so very excited about that!!!

Had a great appointment, feeling great. I told him that the plan is for me to go in at 9cm just to push and he said "well can you make sure you are in the car at 9cm cause the traffic can be bad on a friday arvo especially!" lol

I wonder how Gigi is travelling with little miss Mimi!

relle, your plan to wait until 9cm dilated sounds great - i hope it all works out for you!! i'm hoping to have my baby at home in the shower before i get a chance to even make it into the car!! i've got my fingers crossed for a 5 min labour from start to finish - highly probable of course, especially given that it's my first - he he he!!
i reckon it will be hard for me to convince my DH that it's ok to stay at home during the early stages of labour... as soon as there is anything even remotely contraction-like he'll be trying to bundle me off into the car (on a tarpaulin of course so that i don't ruin the leather seats!!)...
i had a dream last night that my DH sat reading the sport section of the newspaper throughout my labour, and my mum was at my side, bossing me about and pushing and pulling at the baby to try and get it out (it was breech, and the bum and legs came out, but the head took some persuasion!!)... i have been having all sorts of funny dreams.. in my dream last night, the baby also ended up being a boy, not a girl when it came out! i wasn't disappointed at all (he was SO cute), but i was really annoyed with myself for spending so much money on pink stuff, and not keeping my receipts!! ha ha!!
no wonder i'm waking up so tired in the morning with all of this activity in my dreams!!

    Relle,

I've just seen the thread talking about the conference being held here is April, and the Pink Kits being available to purchase there. I've obviously missed the conference, but am wondering if you picked up any extra Pink Kits to onsell to your clients? I know i'm not a client, but if i'm going to buy one, I'd rather give my business to an "e-friend"!! If you don't have any extras, then where is the most convenient place for me to buy one?

    Thanks!

LOL at your husband bundling you into the car. Try and get him to let you stay home, cause the longer you are at home and in your own environment, the quicker your labour will progress.

I didn't know any better with Campbell and I got sent home from hospital twice after everything stopped when I got there.

The dreams are real doozeys when you are pregnant - the pregnant brain must work overtime when we are asleep!

I was going to get a Pink Kit, but decided against it, as I wanted to actually borrow one before laying out the cost. I know Kelly has affiliated with Pink Kit, so if you have a look through Bellybelly, that will probably be you best bet hun.

How are you feeling in general?

Hi girls, wonder how Gigi is going at home with Mimi? Relle, have you heard anymore?

Ella - LOL about your dreams. I had some really wacky ones too. Wouldn't a 5 min labour be a dream, I think we all like to order one of those LOL!!!

Relle - what is the Pink Kit, I've seen in on BB but have no idea what it is!

HUn, I don't know alot about it, but it is a series of books, dvds etc and is aimed at teaching you about your pelvis and body structure so you can figure out how best to work with your body during labour.

I am meant to be borrowing one to try, but I haven't got round to it yet! lol

I haven't heard back from Gigi yet, just thought I would leave her in peace today since it is her first full day at home, will text her tomorrow again.

ok, thanks Relle! will do a bit of digging around myself then... and i if i end up getting one i'll let you know (and you can borrow it while i'm away in south africa)... i keep seeing references saying that they're expensive, but haven't actually seen a price anywhere yet - i was just being lazy and thought i'd go to you for a summary - ha ha!!
can you recommend any good books/courses/etc for a first-time mum? i've bought that one "New Active Birth", but haven't got any others yet... because i'm a little scared about the whole birthing experience i want to make sure that i go into it well educated...
of course, it's all irrelevant given that i'll be having a 5-min labour - ha ha ha!!

my friend went to a clairvoyant and she told her that i'm going to have my baby in August! that would be at least 3 weeks early... hope there's some truth in it, although i believe in clairvoyants as much as flying pigs...

Ella I know it is in the $100+ vicinity, hence the reason I didn't end up buying one without knowing a little more about it.

Ella I have got a collection of books now as well if you want to have a look sometime and borrow any. I have quite a few from the recommended reading list on BB and one of them has a gorgeous DVD as well with some fantastic births in it. ( not real gory just really nice)

Let me know if you want to have a look at them babe.

    Hi ladies,

in at DH's work so thought I would drop you all a quick line to let you know that all is well!

Mimi is totally divine, the cone head has gone and she is feeding and sleeping really well (touch wood that will continue!).

Am EXTREMELY sore still "down there" - those darn Keilland (sp?) forceps are killers and Dennis thinks that things will be painful for a while, unfortunately. Lots of stitches etc (sorry if TMI).

We ended up being induced, 10 days over and when he broke the waters there was not even the remotest sign of anything happening re ripening of cervix or anything! He was still confident though that I would labour naturally after the waters were broken but with my body, it is not to be. He broke waters at 7.30am Saturday 5th May. By noon the contractions started. By 6pm I was still only 1.5 cms. So they said there is no point labouring so slowly for 2 days to get to 10 - just silly to make myself that tired, so we had the epidural, put in the syntocinon drip and she was born 3 hours later! Anyway, I haven't got much time so will sign off. But will hopefully have a computer aat home again in about 2 weeks so will be back to chat then. In the meantime - hope you are all well. Take care and speak soon

    Gigi xx

    Woohooo Gigi!

How exciting hun! How are you feeling? How is Mimi going?????

I had an appt for an ultrasound booked next tuesday, but have had to move it to the following Monday now as the Genetic specialists at The children's hospital want to see Cooper next tuesday for further testing, and the next appt after that is not till August, so I rang Dennis just to make sure that the scan at 34 weeks will still be ok, and he was fantastic as always.

He also wanted to know why Cooper was having genetic testing, and confirmed what the paed thought, that indivdually all the little things are nothing major, but all together the may be indicating a problem.

So that was really nice to have that confirmed as well.

Gigi - glad to hear you are back on!!! Mimi sounds like a great baby. I can totally understand why you are sore. I didn't have a forceps delivery with Marley and I could barely walk for 6 weeks, I was in agony. My midwife suggested salt baths which helped immensely. I think I had one every night! I hope it starts to feel better soon. How is Ella enjoying her new sister? Don't forget to chance your ticker too.

Relle - isn't he a legend! You can always count on him to make you feel better. You know I wish you luck with Coopers specialist, but as I've been saying, stay positive. I am sure everything will be just fine.
