Nickers, re: tryin for girl, no we were just tryin for a baby, so didn't care whether boy or girl Would really like a boy this time round though, but havent bothered with timing/temping/etc. Yeah statistics show that sperm live for approx 3 days & a follicle for 24-36hrs, also male sperm are fast but die earlier, female sperm are slow & live longer, so tryin for girl means DTD b4 ovul & for a boy, at/after ovul. As we had AIH/IUI (artificial insemination or intra uterine injection) we had to obstain for 4days b4 ovul (which was triggered by injection) & insem took place at time of ovul (or within 2hrs) so based on that, we'd be more likely for a boy & ivf nurse said yes statistics are slightly higher for boys with AIH. For 2-3hrs after I felt all sorts of wierd feelings, must've been ovul & conception. The timing thing isn't perfect & doesn't always work but it is based on medical evidence of sperm activity/life.
