esme - thanks for letting us know. we'll wait for another week or so and see. else we'll go see them.

we're still wrapping Lakshman, he doesnt complain though he seems to get his arms out but still within the wrap. he gets his fist caught in the fold. i get worried at night cos he puts it over his mouth and that he might cover his nose.
he doesnt sleep much during the day either.. most an hr. usually about 15 mins or so. it does get tiring. but he now sleeps from about 10ish 11pm to 4ish 5am sometimes 6, so i dont want to complain..
the days are getting more tiring.. he doesnt like his tummy time on his playmat but will do tummy time on our chests. he starts crying on the playmat.. and he doesnt seem to want to lift his head high either. but he;s fine on our chests. is this ok?

    Hi Everyone,
We had a busy weekend with my DS turning 3 and a few birthday partied to attend.
Prama -- saw you on ACA you look great and poopy is gorgeous.
With tummy time it is important as it helps develop neck strength, my MCHN suggest to put a wrapped towel or nappy under there chest to give them more support. My boys hated tummy time but gradually got used to it. By the time you feed and burp and change them and then they have a play and tummy time its exhausting.

Jacki -- great to see you back. I used a dummy with my first but not with DS2 or DD. I found it very hard getting up all the time to replace the dummy -- and my DS2 survived without it. DD will only take the dummy occaisionally and I am happy with that. My first DS was almost one before he would replace his own dummy!

We are still wrapping DD but we leave an arm out, she has a sleeping bag with arms as it is so cold in Ballarat. I will soon start to not wrap her I think they suggest from about 3 months on they shouldn't be wrapped. I was terrified of not wrapping my DS1 as I thought he wouldn't sleep but he got used to it very quickly. He was 6 months by that stage!
Hope everyone has a good day
I have a cold and no voice so the boys think it is hysterical !!

Prama I'm still wrapping, i was told wrap unil at least three months as that's when they're startle reflex begins to go away - but if you think lakshman's lost his already then that's fine. Alex' comes on and off, and sometimes he wont sleep and will scream until he is wrapped. So we seem to be fifty fifty at the moment.

Alex is still playing up from his immunisations... how long will it laast?
It's made him so darn cranky and on top of that his colic seems to have gotten worse.

JAcki i wished i'd kept off ther dummy longer. I used to let him have a cry and he'd settle himself, now i seem to give him the dummy for my own sanity and im really regretting it but until he starts sleeping again im not taking it away yet.

We are still wrapping DS but he gets his arms out within minutes so think I will be shopping for a sleeping bag soon (any recommendations anyone - some are so expensive!). I have started always putting him to sleep in a gro suit as the have nice and tight arms so the sleeves don't ride up. I usually get up to feed around 4.00am and his little hands are freezing but he doesn't seem to mind. We have started using a column heater in the room to take the chill off.

Thanks for the replies on the dummies. I thought it would be earlier that they could find their dummies at night. Bumma!! Think I will start trying to limit use of his dummy as I guess there is no way of getting him to 'self-settle' while he uses one. I don't like the thoughtof getting up all the time during the night to replace a dummy for the next 6 - 9 months !!

We still wrap Amber too. She does get an arm out and when we get up for the night feed her little hand is freezing. I cant imagine her sleeping without being wrapped yet. But we will get there. We do have a sleeping bag for her.
We also use a dummy. She only has it for her day naps (if she does sleep) If she does have it in at night she will spit it out when asleep and will stay asleep at night without the need for it.

We are turning 11 weeks tomorrow. Where has the time gone! They learn so quickly. It seems Amber is changing every day. She is taking more notice of the animals now and is getting better with tummy time. Her head control is great too.
Amber in the past week has rubbed off a lot of the hair on the back of her head. I wonder if it will change colour!

I hope everyone is doing well too.

    Hi All,
We are still wrapping Zoe, although she is still only 8 weeks old. I think she hates it, but I know she wakes herself up if i don't. She does have a dummy, but i don't really have to put it back in once she has gone to sleep.
She has just recently started screaming when i put her down to sleep. That's my biggest challenge at the moment as I haven't had trouble settling her before now.
We went away for the Anzac weekend but only managed just over 24 hours away from home. I got mastitis on the first night and we had some antibiotics at home (which i didn't end up using last time when i had a blocked duct) and a thermometer, so we came home early to fight it off. I was SO sick and man is it painful. I am feeling heaps better now...i am out of bed anyway!! I still have a very sore boob though.
Anyone know if some people are more prone to blocked ducts than others. I've had two in the first 8 weeks and i am not very happy about it!!

Jen - I have NO IDEA where the time has gone. Luke is 12 weeks tomorrow !! (He has also managed to get a lovely bald patch at the back !!)

Danda - so sorry to hear about your ruined weekend away. I'm not too sure but think that some people are more prone to mastitis because people I know who have had it generally have it more than once (however not as frequent as you you poor thing !) Hopefully you DH is being great and spoiling you !

Speaking of spoiling us ........ I wonder if my DH realises that Mother's Day is around the corner !
