Sheree - poor little Riley - he's got more than his fair share of issues hasn't he? I hope that's an end to his problems. We aren't doing anything special with Brock for sleeping - he's just a very settled baby. He is being formula fed so I know exactly how much he's getting so maybe that helps. On the odd occasion he has given us grief we check if he needs changing again (even if he just got changed sometimes he needs it again), and if that doesn't settle him we feed him a little more formula and then generally he's off to sleep. During the day he sleeps in his rocker. At night he sleeps in his cradle - in a sleeping bag. If he makes noise I get him out and rock him a little and as he closes his eyes I put him back in. I think there's less disturbance when using a sleeping bag. Sometimes he needs his dummy - I put it in and hold it there til he starts sucking it. I don't know if any of that will help you though.

Beema - it's great that Nakita is doing so well. It's awful when they have to prod bubs around like that for blood isn't it? Fortunately we haven't had to experience it since he came home though.

Kristy J - Was there any particular reason you decided to circumcise your boys? I'm glad I didn't have to even think about it was never an option for us as DF was against it. It would have been a very different situation had I managed to have a son with my ex though.

Anyway, better go, it's feed time.

We tried a sleeping bag at first as Riley was one of these babies fighting to get out of his wrap that it woke him up. I feel he didn't sleep too badly in it, but I am trying the wrap method again to ensure he knows it is bed time when I wrap him. Guess he will get the idea soon enuf. Once asleep he is ok, but it is that first 20min sleep cylce he is a trickster. We put him to bed at 7pm last night and didn't get him asleep until 11pm and he had been up since 4.45pm. So it was a long awake for him. That is why I am trying a bit of formula tonight to see if that satifys him enuf, after his booby juice.

On a good note though, after fighting till 11pm, he then slept till 4.40am. He was exhausted. Then after a 15min feed I wrapped him and put him to bed. Again I put him down and he tricked me - eyes wide open. I still walked out of the room, but he settled himself. Whahooo.... probably a one off, but then I thought that the night before too, when he did it twice in a row through the night. So crossing fingers it works again 2nite. So after 4.40am wake and feed he went back to sleep until 8.45am.

So he can be good, but like the rest of us, we all have unsettled period throughout the day. I just struggle with the toddler as well at times, always have something else to do then to be nursing a baby to sleep all the time. So really he is doing well, only 6 weeks old. First first born was the 20min catnapping kid, so I can't really complain. Riley went back to bed at 9.45am this morning and slept till 11.30am. So his sleep cycles are def way better then Lachlan's ever were.....
