I'm hoping that a tooth is going to pop through soon so I can explain the grumpiness, short naps, waking overnight, drooling, red bum, red cheeks and lots of poos on something!
Kellie - I know the feeling! LOL! I am pretty sure L's bottom two teeth are sitting in the gum. He has two lumps on the front of his gum and I think I can see the white of them at the top

Viv - was speaking to L's osteo today about solids again. She reckons even up to 7-8 months is a good time to introduce solids to ensure the GI tract is mature enough. I'd say he might not be ready, especially if he has reflux etc. We're still truckin' on with just the BM too for now.

    Hi Kelly

Kellied- i just leave the ergo on when i go to the loo! classy i know. It is hard to carry all your carp if it's a long trip. Sometimes i take the ergo and the pram, if she chucks a tanty i chuck her in the ergo.

Saf- My pram faces out, she doesn't mind it too much, i have some plastic link things she plays with.

Good move on the food NT- no point fighting him and turning into a massive issue. The boy's getting all he needs from the milk, just draining for you. Good news is he wont be suckling at those hooters forever, maybe just another month or so!

In good news, no damage to the eye ball as yet, have to go back next week to make sure eye ball still not involved. Pain cranked up a notch, still bearable.

Here's to a good nights sleep for all!

oh yeah, forgot to say Welcome Kelly!

Speaking of Ergo's...Trish - keep forgetting to tell you that I tried my friends the other day, had L in it for about an hour and it was great compared to the bjorn BUT...had a killer sore back the next day So now I'm trying to decide between a pikkolo or an ergo...bit put off the ergo by the sore back business.

Ange - good news about the eye ball. Hope the pain stays manageable.

Ahhh! DH was still at work, I had just put K in the bath, Joel was playing outside when *SMASH*, Joel had thrown a stick or a rock at the bathroom window and glass came flying in at us. Luckily I was sitting with my back to the window with K in front of me because my back stopped the glass from hitting K. I quickly whipped K out of the bath (which had shards of glass in it) found Joel hiding outside and made him sit in the laundry while I cleaned up and gave K a fresh bath. What do I do with that boy??? I gave him such a nice day today and he has to go and do something naughty like that. Why is it that when us mums are struggling to get through the day that our kids have to behave so badly???

Night all, I'm going to bed. I need to be unconscious right now...

i had a pep talk from my sister today aka: bfeeder of the universe.

she says the same thing as some of you have mentioned - all the solids up to 12 months are merely an introduction and that he is just fine on milk for at least another 2 months.

i always feel better about it after talking to her. she says she just lied to people who insisted hers 'should' be eating this or sleeping that. "smile sweetly, say thanks but do it your own way".

i can't believe he's dropped a feed. he feeds so fast, and goes so long in between it's hard to believe it's enough. he never asks for more, and at a time when i thought he'd be on the make for in-between snacks, he's being less draining that i imagined.

    roll on.

ange - good to hear the eyeball doesn't need to be skewered. :P

i'm still considering the ergo quite seriously.

how carp is this - they cost $US92 but are marked up approximately double here. bleh. i hate that.

trish - bloody hell! i was thinking about glass shards and windows just the other day. how horrific. little boys are just destined to do stuff like that. when i think about how many panes my brothers smashed between them, i figure you've got a few more calls to o'briens just yet.

Aww trish! Lucky you were in front of K! Maybe Joel is missing it just being the 2 of you? Hope you get some well deserved rest!
Viv! Your doing a great job with James! Just keep going with instinct cause you know best not anyone else! We are just having fun with food at the moment! I feed him some then let him kinda feed himself and he loves it! You must get an ergo they are fab! and super easy for hubby! x

Ange- shingles, geez, hope your better soon
Trish- OMG, do u think joel would have intentially thrown something knowing it might break:? he prob got as much shock when it happened as you did. ikwym though, hope u get a good sleep tonight.

It was my big boy's 2nd birthday today! we had a fun day. didnt venture anywhere he was happy playing with all his new stuff. he got lots of thomas stuff which he is so into atm.
had nan, pop, nan nan, aunties and cousins pop around tonight he went hypo. both in bed now and iw as going to make this cake tonight so i can just ice it tomorrow but im too nakkered myself.
Its been a pretty good day for me, i actually didnt stop at 5.08pm when he was born and reminise! But now he's tucked away sleeping soundly i think back to this night 2 years ago when he was struggling to breath and i was not well enough to see him. The nurses had taken one photo of him in nicu and gave it to me, i held onto it the entire night every time i woke i would just stare at it.

    Good morning!

Didn't get much sleep last night, K slept through until 5am, but I think with all the stuff that went on last night I had trouble sleeping! Feeling pretty yuck this morning and the sight in the mirror is very frightening LOL!

DH has taped the window up and we'll have to arrange for a replacement ASAP. It's one of those privacy windows so who knows how much that will cost!

Viv - LOL at O'Brien's! This is actually the second window Joel has broken so I think you are right. DH is too money conscious (aka "tight") to get someone in to fix it, he will do it himself. He's pretty clever and replaced the last one. I'm glad you're giving the solids a miss for a while, your sister is very wise!

Nic - Happy 2nd birthday to Nixon for yesterday! I remember when it was his first birthday, doesn't time fly?! I'm so glad he is now a happy and healthy big boy, that must have been so scary when he arrived so early. Re: Joel, he threw the projectile intentionally, but I don't think he realised it could break the window. I had only told him 30 seconds before to stop throwing things at the window so he thought he'd throw it extra hard

Amber - Myles is so clever sitting up! Thanks for the hug! I think Joel is used to having K around now, he just likes getting attention. He has always been larger than life and attention seeking!

Willow - Doh about the Ergo! Maybe try it on again in case it was just coincidence? I find mine wonderful on my back. If you decide to go the Ergo don't forget to talk to me!

Ange - How are you feeling today? I'm glad your eye hasn't been damaged. I hope you are taking it easy! DH has been known to go to the loo wearing the Ergo too LOL!

Kellie - It sounds a lot like Tahlia is teething! Do you have a 6 month MCHN appointment? Hopefully your nurse can poke around in her mouth and tell you what's going on.

    Saffi
    - Glad you snuck a nap in yesterday. Did you have a better night last night? K's pram only faces forward.

Rebecca - Happy 6 months to Caitlyn for yesterday!

Mo - How's your mum? I hope she is a bit better after your scare the other night.

I'm taking K to the paediatrician later this morning. Hopefully he'll find the reason why my boy is so unhappy. Have a great day everyone!

Trish - OMG!!! How lucky that you were in front of K like you were and none of you were injured. Sorry to hear you had a carp night. All that adrenalin in your system wouldn't have helped. Hope you canget some zzzz today. GL with the paed appointment - hope youu get some answers.

    Happy birthday to Nixon.

L was unsettled overnight. He woke up at 8.30pm and wouldn't sleep unless I held him. So he dozed in my arms for a couple of hours. Down at 11.30pm, up at 2, fed at 4.30 and up for the day at 7. Hoping that he has a big sleep this morning so I can have a sleep as well.

Nothing much else happening here. BBL

nickers - where did all that time go? i can just see you clutching your picture of your tiny boy at night. so sweet.

saffi - bleh on the carp night. we've been having the old 'i need a 4.20 cuddle' thing... and feeds... and this... and that... la de da... *crazy*

    i hear your pain

Trish - bl**dy hell!! I'm glad no one was hurt! These are the things I've got to look forward to I guess LOL! I'll let you know if I decide to go with the Ergo. Mum and dad sold a block of land they owned up the coast, settled yesterday and they called to get my bank account details...hmmmm, methinks they might be sharing the love WOOT! So I might be buying one sooner rather than later...that's if I can stop myself spending it all on MCNs!! Oh yeah... and there's a credit card that could do with some attention but that's not as much fun!

Saffi/Viv - let's hope these boys of ours settle down soon!

We had a shocker here too. Giving the boy the benefit of the doubt because he isn't well, but to be honest, I don't think he's really that sick either

Panadol doesn't seem to help, he is just as unsettled when I give it to him. He was pretty good the second half of the night so I'm not too tired. Have a feeling MIL is going to 'drop in' for a visit today. *Sigh* She's been away for a few weeks and probably wants to see the kids...better go have a shower I guess.

    Hey all!
I hear everyone on the carp nights lately thing. Over the past 2 weeks I doubt there has been a night where I have had more than 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep from little miss C. It has been a shocker! I just hope that now things have settled down I can get her back into her routine and get her to sleep through most of the night again. We slept with her in our bed last night. she no longer wakes up having a little sook - its a scream! Scared the carp out of us the past couple of nights. and its not like it builds up......she wakes and SCREAMS. so scarey! She isnt in pain or cold or hot or without her dummy or anything like that - the poor things just screams. the first time she did it she screamed and then went back to sleep - a dream/nightmare maybe? But the last couple of times she has gone on for a while. It realyl freaks me out and I get really tense and I have a lot of trouble settling her.
I spoke to the lady at day care this morning re the possibility of a tooth - nope - doesnt look like it. But needles on Tuesday so will see the doc and he can make the definitive call.
anyway - had better head off and do some cleaning and moving caitlyn back into her room. Hope you are all having a great (even if quiet) day!

    Hello everyone,

Haven't been near a computer much I'm suddenly exhausted for no reason when I'm not feeding or playing with Ryan I'm having cat naps with him or dozing on the floor next to him, had blood tests and theres 'no apparant physiological reason' as to why I've crashed but I haven't turned the laptop on in wks...

Ryan is doing well we've almost replaced a bottle with food & baby juice. Had his needles today, had the initial scream, then lots of cuddles with mum while he pouted and gave me "how could you" looks, then we had a bottle and we were back to laughing and playing with toys.

He's now 9.9kg, 70cm long with a 46cm noggin, dr said he's a perfectly healthy and solid little boy, he's not fat he's just solid all over. His breathings been worrying me but I took him to the hosp after a bit of a chocking episode and the dr today and they say it's just all his drool, reflux and a bit of a blocked nose that's causing it, guess I'm just a worry wart.

My loves to all the mums and bubs, Ryans been waking really early too but if you let him have a whinge and a sing he'll go back to sleep but for no more than an hour or so. Think daylight savings is stuffing him up a bit

I'm on my msn silver_moon_dragon11 @ hotmail.com if anyone wants to catch me I usually leave it running to get messages from people on the desktop

Can't promise I'll be back regularly but will try and pop in to say g'day from time to time, neways back to cuddles and play time with little man, got some flash cards I know he doesn't understand what's on them but gives me something to do instead of just passing him back the toys he pegs across the room lol

Sheesh Trish, glad that story ended well love. Boys eh?

Happy Birthday little Nixon! must seem like a long road Nic, bet you are proud of your little man.

Must have been something in the air, bad night here too, she's done well today though 3 1.5hr sleeps. Lets hope tonight is better.

Willow- love a bit of cash for no reason, get shopping girl!

    Amber- hmmmmm love a d'lish.

NT- don't even get me started on the markup on US goods, it seems Aussies prices go up as exchange rate goes down, but when exchange rate is good, prices stay the same!!! Someone is ripping us Aussies off. It p1$$es me off. On top of that, US companies have started banning postage to Oz in some kind of support for their oerpriced Oz distributors. I have written a couple of letters to complain, they responded with a whole lot of garbage. Bah. i'm not the best when it comes to written english, as you probably notice!

Rebecca- Lu has woken screaming a couple of times,i thought night mare, i reckon she was being chased by a big hairy nipple with no milk in it!

My mum has been cooking up a storm, freezer full of food for next week, right on!

Fingers crossed this baby doesn't get the pox.

Ange - I keep the ergo in the pram too, so when she does crack it I can put her in there and use the pram to carry everything else

Trish - that sucks about the broken window.. glad noone got hurt. I just rang the MCHN this morning and made an appointment, couldnt get in till the 30th though. How did you go at the paed?

Viv and Willow - definitely get an ergo, they are fantastic!

Nic - glad to hear your big boy had a great birthday.
