Hi Katie, I wouldn't think that you'd need to give up BFing just because of irregular AF! There are other contraceptives such as DepoProvera and the Implanon implant thingy that you can use safely while BFing which might be of help. I'm guessing though the dr might recommend you wait a few more weeks to see whether you settle into more of a pattern...I imagine they will also ask you a few q's to rule out the possibility of a uterine infection/retained placenta as it can happen even a couple of months after birth. HTH - but unless you want to give up BFing it's the dr's job to find a treatment path that can be done while you are BFing.

Ummmm also guilty of picking up under arms, I kind of wrap my fingers around her back so they are still supporting her neck when I lift - better in some situations tho I also do neck and bum - depending on angle of where you are picking child up from.

Noni - have you tried the Zovirax - the other cold sore creams don't have an anaesthetic in them but this one helps with the pain as well - you need to put it on really often tho. The other thing that helps is keeping the whole lip area (esp the sides) moisturised with lip balm - and take some Lysine supplements.

Queenie - ummm sorry not sure about hte pain - is it like an engorgy full sort of pain? You might like to post for Barb to answer that q hun. Re the tiredness - it does get better!

Re the driving, E loves going in the car. I agree tho feed and change before you get in to go! You can get sunshade thingys that attach to the side windows of the car to help with shading them in summer. That's about all you can do as far as I know without hats, etc.

Arte - Eeeew about the gunshot crunching in your teeth, I don't think I'd like that either. Has your DH tried having him in the sling...does DH know W's preferred settling things (ie pat bottom at this rate, jiggle like so, shush this quietly...etc) - maybe if you leave him to his own devices a few times - get him to persevere until he works out how to settle W, then he will know how to do it (you might have to put your earphones in like Fianne tho...)!
