Vic - yep, I do work for Optus, I'm a team leader in debt collection (financial services), but I am off until March next year. DH also works there (he has worked for them for 9.5 years, me for 8.5), they are a great employer to work for - Your DH should get a Baby Basket from Optus (ours arrived a few weeks ago with all bath products and towels/face washers etc) as they always send gifts when employees have babies. Handy to know too that they pay 8 weeks maternity leave (although he would have missed out this time as have to be there 12 months to be eligible). As DH and I both work there we get 16 weeks paid - when I return to work DH will take his (followed by his long service leave) so will be a SAHD for about 5 months with Bailey. I hope he enjoys its, I certainly do (being there this long certainly shows that). They have such great incentives too, I won a $3000 travel voucher late last year, and there are lots of reward and recognition for staff, IMO they really look after their people. What type of position does he hold in Melb? We may well know some of the same people - hehehehe
Raindrops - although its a long way off (next March) I am already dreading the thought of returning to work. When DH has finished his SAHD stint I am going to look at working 3 days a week so I can maximise my time with Bailey
Niadla - Yaaaah for Lachy whizzing on the loo
Catherine - I do agree with the parents bedroom being a 'sanctary' and I do look forward to reclaiming ours LOL We have a big spa in our ensuite so filled it up last night to have some 'couple' time, it was lovely and relaxing and fortunately Bailey stayed asleep the whole time!
I just booked a 7 day Gold Coast Holiday for Nov (before the dreaded Schoolies week), we are taking our best friends and their son (12 months older than Bailey) so REALLY looking forward to it. Bailey will be 6 months old then - crazy to think that!
Well am off to at least organise some dinner before the little guy stirs, he is currently laying asleep on the floor on his Elmo rug while Dad plays guitar hero
