Hi girls!

Argh - I haven't been getting notifications, so I'm way, way behind.

Alison - That's scary about the infection. Was it a MRSA infection?

Liam had his vaccinations this week. Poor little guy was grumpy when we went to the doc since we had to wake him up from a nap. Our GP is wonderful and he was all happy and gooing - and then he got his jabs. I don't think I've ever heard him cry like that He was really unsettled for the rest of the day, crying loudly on and off in between short naps. He also wouldn't feed much. But when we finally got him down for the night, he zonked out and only woke up once overnight. Thankfully the next day he was back to normal and happy and smiling.

He's actually been really good lately - he still feeds frequently during the day (anywhere from 1-2 hours in between feeds usually, and he only feeds for 5-10 minutes each time - one of the benefits of oversupply and overactive letdown!), but he's been only waking a couple of times overnight to feed and settling down quickly each time.

Yesterday he decided to break with this pattern - he spent the day sleeping for an hour, waking to feed (and feed for a long time for him) and then sleeping again. He did have one long period where he was awake and playing, though. Then he woke every 1-2 hours overnight to feed. I'm guessing it's a growth spurt. He's been feeding frequently this morning, too, but has finally just gone down for a nap. I don't have a problem with his frequent feeds, though - I'm happy to let him decide what he needs and when he needs it.

I finally got around to buying myself a proper breastfeeding pillow (My Brest Friend) - I am amazed at how much more comfortable it makes feeding. I have back issues, and using normal pillows always gave me pain. This is perfectly comfy - and I can actually feed hands free, which is novel. Damn, I wish I'd bought one ages ago.

Had an awesome mail day, too - got some more cloth nappies (yay for sales!) including a Bambooty to try, and some baby carriers - two mei tais, a ring sling and a peanut shell. I think DH is going to revoke my credit card soon I've tried Liam in one of the met tais (a Catbird Baby) and he was happy as anything in it. He loves being cuddled upright, and it's super comfy to wear for me, even wit my dodgy back.

Now I've written an essay I hope you're all doing well - I'll try to actually post here more often.
