    healthy weight loss supplement

    Hello there,

I see this is a new thread so I might just start with my little story. I am about a size 18 to 20 and we are planning on TTC starting in December. By that time I want to have lost about 15 to 20 kilos and feel healthy, probably about a healthy size 14 to 16 to be realistic. I have about 6 months to achieve this so its time to get stuck into it. I dont want a quick fix and put the weight back on plus some, I want to do this the healthy way. I have been pretty much up and down in my weight over the years but have never been this big. I put on about 10 to 15 kilos when I met DP and never really got it all off permanently so this is the time to do it! I want to avoid the high risks being overweight in pregnancy brings such as PE and GD and want to avoid having to use an obstetrician for my care vs midwife. I am a student midwife and should be qualified by the years end. I see how much of a risk weight brings with pregnancy not to mention how hard it is to TTC. So I am really just trying to get started and see how other people are getting on with their weight loss too. Talk to you soon,

    Leanne
    Hi Leanne.
I thought I would responded to your blog, because my sister had the same problem. She wanted to loose some unwanted wait before she fell pregnant. She ate well, and exercised regularly, but it didn't seem to be enough.
So she went and saw her naturopath and he suggested that she drink this shake called IsoWhey Complete. Its full of minerals and high in protein. Its great for your immune system and you can replace meals with it. She lost a lot of weight and achieved it doing it in a healthy way. It can also be taken whilst your pregnant! Its also really tasty, she was drinking the french vanilla, but has recently changed to the double chocolate (which I went out and bought directly after). Anyway, I recommend you give it a try, and I wish you all the best with your weight loss and your new baby

Oliver Baker I used to drink that and got sick of it. The same flavours over and over again.... Being vego I have heaps of whey powder but I have a fantastic no name brand which is a natural flavour so I can add it to anything without changing the taste, eg pasta, my breads, salad dressings I make, smoothies, I even sprinkle it over my avo on my organic spelt bread that I make

    Hi "cherished1"
Yum! that sounds really nice. I know what you mean about the taste being monotonous, but whats really nice is if you throw some berries and things into it as well and blend it all together and you can even poor it on your cereal. Im intrested in this no name one that your using, could you send me some info on it so I can look it up on the net. Like the producer or something??
    thanx alot

Cherished - I hear you on the clothes thing! When I first lost a bit, I found it was so expensive to go out and buy new clothes, especially since my plan was that I would be too skinny for them not long after, and it spawned my greatest love - OP SHOPPING!
You pay $8.50 for a pair of pants (OK, requires some time investment) so it doesn't matter what you do to them, and if you only wear them for six weeks, well, who cares? I have got compliments on every single pair of op shop pants I have ever bought, because they are better quality than I could afford to buy new, and I only buy pants that fit perfectly, so they always look amazing

Ammaki - I have an arsenal of bikes at my house, and am bidding on a new one on ebay (yaaaay!) so you could always come up here for a burn if you felt like it.

And, while talking of all things Brisbane, is anyone keen on doing the Bridge to Brisbane 5km run? I have decided I'm doing it. Training starts this week - eeep!

"Yo snuggly" .... Ok my home girl thing doesn't really work I used to love op shopping when I lived in Vic (and was skinny) I found that I could pull of some funky items way better than I could now (it's funny that the opposite in weight created your love of op shopping) I have looked at the op shops around Noosa several times over the years but they are way too expensive! You can honestly buy cheaper clothes at the Maroochydore plaza Where is the op shopping region around Brissy?

Oliver Baker Yeah adding berries & banana etc are wonderful to add natural flavours to the whey, I love adding fresh fruit and sprouts or leafy greens to my smoothies what are your weight loss goals? Have you lost much using protein powders? I find I use them not 'loose weight' as such but to keep my protein intake up being vegetarian.

Hey after my excitement today being my Monday weigh day, I was wondering what day of the week you guys weigh yourself (if you have a regular day?)

Ammaki - I am fit but have never run before. I used to runa little bit when I lived near the beach, but only for like 10 mins at a time. So you mightn't be holding me back at all! (on the bike you totally would, but I'm just happy to see more people on two wheels)

Cherizzled - I have had luck at the local op shops here, around the Gabba. Generally the posher sort of suburbs have the better clothes, I reckon, as posher folk throw their clothes out in better condition. I also find i buy dresses that I need to be skinny to wear, and they help to keep me motivated.

Hmmm... not he best day today. I did my 30km bike, but stopped at Mrs Flannerys on the way home to get some stuff, and chucked in a little bag of vege chips Rest of the day pretty good - still drinking herbal tea like it's going out of fashion.

    Hey Cherished1.
I havnt yet tried leafy greens in my smoothies... by leafy greens, do you mean mint etc? It sounds good. Basically my weight lose goal was to drop 15 kg, and so far I have lost 5 which im really happy with. I found that if I had one of theses shakes before meals, I would feel full and satisfied, and i'd still be getting good nutrition. So that combined with my early morning jogs and boxing, the weight is practically falling off. And to answer your question on the day of the week I way my self, I always way myself on Sunday, because thats my day of rest when im relaxed and not training.
Its defiantly a good idea that your keeping your protein intake up through drinking the shakes. How ever, the IsoWhey protein bars are really good as well, and there easier to take (you can eat it when ever with out going to the hassle of mixing it all together) theres like 4 different flavours, I usually get the vanilla yoghurt and apricot, and eat it on the way to work in the morning. Anyway, keep up the good work

Hey guys. I lost 1.3kg this week so pretty happy with that after the holiday gain.
Went to sizzler today for lunch but was still good. But regret the tiny small piece of sticky date pudding that I had as I didn't check the calories beforehand and it so wasn't worth it.
Cherished - I take just a multi-vit. Do you need to take extra protein? Most vegetarians don't because you do get a lot from vegies etc. But then if you are doing a lot of weights or exercise etc you might need to? I have realised I can't get tempeh here which is a bugger as I do an awesome vietnamese spring roll and it is great in that. Mmmm thats what I feel like now actually.....
Well I am off to get my eyelashes tinted. I fly down to BNE tomorrow for a meeting. Not so keen on giving presentations but I hear the catering is good. LOL!

Ammaki I'm sure it's just AF

"go krysalyss, go krysalyss, gooooooooooooooo krysalyss hehehhe 1.3kg is GREAT! YAY
I find that I do need more protein just to get me through, I try to have a protein with every meal or my sugar spikes with only eating carbs iykwim plus I do like to have extra protein to build muscle and the more protein you eat the more fat you burn I love cutting tempeh into thin strips and shallow frying it and dunking it into sweet chilli sauce or soy sauce Not sure where you are but most IGA stores will get in products that a customer requests if there is one near you?

Ohhh, krys, shouldn't have bragged about my tempeh for dinner in vego thread. Sorry! Maybe you can buy some while you're in Brissy?

Cherished - you did NOT just say that about Floradix - I just bought my first bottle yesterday! I hate the taste so much, but I'm sure it's good for me, so am just powering through.

My weight hasn't changed at all, but I'm feeling good, and eating pretty well. Could probably slot a bit mroe exercise in (I know 30km on the bike sounds like heaps, but honestly, it is so much a part of my life that my body doesn't even register it anymore.) Found a local yoga class and I'm really keen to go along, but so shy for some reason. Weird.

Snugglybean "oh no..... I DID just say that about Floradix" I really do think it is that which makes me feel like crap, I've kinda tested it, I havent' had it since the mc and I've felt good and then I took it last night and feel like crap today, I've tested it a few times like that.... I think I will leave if for a week and than have it again and if I wake up like today I will know it's the Floradix... I even take it at night with my vit C & Zinc powder so that if it does upset me a bit I will be asleep and not know about it lol I know some people can be a little sensitive to iron supliments so maybe it's just me because I have been told by others that Floradix is really good.... I have taken a different one with is a slow release capsule, I can't remember the name but it's expensive and starts with F too... It also has folate in it. I think I will get that again and just take it every second day. Go and enjoy your yoga class.... I think I will go to a pilaties or yoga class too but 'I' am shy because I don't think I will be able to keep up!

Well I'm very proud of myself again today, counted my calories and I even fitted in a small bag bite size cookies which a beautiful little 5 year old boy brought in for me along with a big hug It totally made my day because he is super cute and it made me feel special Good night everyone

Awww thanks Cherished! That made me feel really good.
I am seeing my family for the first time in a few months tomorrow so hopefully they notice the difference. I was hoping to be down to a healthy weight for the visit but still 2.8kg off that. Not long at least.

Snugg Dogg - Maybe I will pick up some tempeh. I used to live in Indonesia and lived on this stuff - even though I was a meat eater then. So yummy!

Oliver and MMM - Welcome aboard our happy train. Definitely the more the merrier!

Well everyone sounds like they are going well! Good job guys!

Cherished - if you're thinking Fefol, don't do it, it plugs you up bad, also has animal products in it (I know you're not vegan, but I was p!ssed off when I found out I had been lied to) Apparently BioEthics or similar is good?

Kryspy Kreme-lyss - LOL at the Snugg Dogg! I woke up throught he night and thought maybe I should have offered to deliver you some , so you wouldn't have to take time out of your schedule to go find tempeh.

Blood test this morning, might have come home and had a tim tam but at least I walked up to the hospy, and will ride bike to work. Also, heaps of housework to do tonight, I hear that burns cals, yeah?

Right I am gonna have to practice my home girl status and get down with some funky names for snugg dog and Kryspy Kreme-lyss (cause all can do is copy you 2)

I was thinking of Fefol! shame it has the animal products in it many vitamin B supplements have animal stuff in it too.... The one we have from our natroupath doesn't and it has a good amount of folate in it too. Hmmmm I might try the BioEthics?

Re the tim tams as I said you can afford a tim tam or two if you want you do heaps of physical stuff... Me on the other hand..... I dont' even go near the lollie and choc biscuts in the supermarket
