Trini - like I said to Krissy, my doc said you cant get a false positive from a home test only a false neg. :hugs:
Trini - firstly - *hugs*Secondly - yes, it's all normal - trust me if you are UTD you could have already gone into the full hormonal swing of things and you do have a lot to think about if you are. Thirdly - It's good that your DF is excited - at least if you are UTD (which sounds likely) and you have a 'meltdown' you'll have him there, and he'll be feeling strong to support you.
Oh crap i forgot what i was going to write next.
Try not to worry about your parents and your sister too much. The hardest part of Anthony and I finding out i was pregnant was telling our parents - but we had only been together three months and hadn't even met each others parents... Im sure you will find a way, just have your own arguments armed so when they try and shut you down you can argue back at them. And who knows, you might be lucky and your mum might just wet herself laughing and the squeal excitedly like mine did...
Have your 21st next year... it's no biggie these days really - a 21st doesn't mean anything here in AUS. We already drive, we already drink, smoke, have sex and all the rest of it, it's just an American thing we seemed to have carried on over the years.
All the uni stuff will sort of dissipate once you are actually into the pregnancy, but if it's really important to keep going and get it finished asap - you'll find a way to do so. My mum did her whole first year travelling three hours on p/t each way every day, pregnant and taking my 4yo brother with her. This year should be a breeze. Next year, look into correspondence and i couple of workshops for your pracs or stuff...
I know im not much use, but babble, rant, vent away.
Andfor the side of you that is secretly excited

Ash - thanks heaps for that it made me feel better...i just feel like i wanna cry & lock myself in my room!
I know my parents will be happy once they get over the initial shock but then we have hes parents, hes mum is italian & very traditional about the whole marriage before kiddies thing but we have our wedding planned for next year so that should be good enoughim happy that hes excited coz it makes me feel better & i dont think about the negatives when im with him because he is sooo positive about the whole thing
how did everyone tell their parents??
Yeah i will still make the most of my 21st, i just hope im not sick (havent been sick at all so far so i hope it stays that way) but i think i will have to tell my parents before then or else they will wonder why im not drinking as they are hard ppl to fool when drinking coz they have seen my tipsy alot hehe
Oh uni will always be therei know that!
Skittle - oh so there is no chance that its a false positive?? we are going to get a different brand of test hopefully later today or 2moz
With regards to the falso positives, the only chemical that HPT are supposed to be able to detect is HCG - so i think that's right, no false positives. Mind you, i could be wrong!
Ill post about how i told my parents later - i think Sally, Jo and Nina may have heard it before, i can't remember.
Trini- Im French/Italian! My family is traditional also......2 a point. They do still believe in marriage b4 kids. So when i found out i was pg I was shaking, i was soooooooooooooo scared!
The one person I thought would b really dissapointed was my grandfather, Mario, u cant get more woggy then that!
The shock hits them hard! But then even as quick as a few hrs they were getting excited and used 2 the idea. U'd b amazed how good parents, urs or hes will b.
Yes eurpians r traditional but whats even better about us is we LOVE family and they'll just b excied that there will b another addition and mouth 2 force feed! hahaha "U so skinny, eat!" hahahaha
Whats growing inside u, hopefully, is a gift that u may think is not at the right time but theres no such thing anytime is the right time as things will wait or can still b done such as uni. U CAN do both if u want
With ur birthday i no where ur coming from even though it was just my 19th i had planned a HUGE wkend and found out i was pg!
U no what i couldn't have asked 4 a better preasent as the little wonder and creation that was inside me.
Hunny life throws things at u, there's hurdels all along the way but this isn't one of them, this is something 2 b excited about dont sweat the lil things like telling ur family, they'll go by ur reaction also. If they see how happy u r, it'll rubb off on them. Coz all they care about is ur welbeing.
Take care and breath easy as it's the best gift u can recieve.
U better b pg coz that is such a long bloody post! I better haven't of done it 4 no reason! Go and get a test NOW!
ash did alex get ur last name?

Trini - it was my GP that said that you cant get a fasle positive & I just called my OB to make my next appointment & he said the same thing.
Kass - thanks heapsi am feeling better about it since talking to DF as he is full of positive vibes & that makes me feel better...its just all soo unexpected & a real shock!! Oh im going to be shaking in my boots when I have to tell them
When did you all tell people?? how far along were you??
& to everyone here thanks for all the support while i get my head around this, i would be stressing out if i couldnt get it all off my chest & some advice![]()
i found out when i was about 3 wks!
My plan was not 2 tell anyone till 3months but i was so excited and thought my parents had a right 2 no so i told them i think a day or 2 after i found out!
I saw it as such an excited awesome thing i just had 2 share it! Though it was scarey i also saw it as, if something was 2 happen i would have nedded there surrport.
But in the end it's up 2 u and DP and how u feel about it
i dont no how on earth ur putting off doing a test, go and GET ONE!!!![]()
Oh i have done 2 tests already...they were only internet cheapies but i have never got a positive with them ever! the 1st test yesterday was really light but today it was a little darker & easy to see!!
We just want to get a different brand to make sure before booking in to go to the doctors! Yeah if DF gets his way & once the pregnancy is confirmed he will want to tell everyone coz he isatm hehe
Trini - hun I think you are further along than you think you are. i would guess that you are 10-12 weeks because the AF's have been so unusual for 2 months. they will send you for a dating scan and check how far you are if you are not sure of have had strange AF's. My sister was TTC when i found out about Em. we didn't tell them until 12 weeks because we wanted them to be able to announce before us, but it didn't happen that way. she is due to pop any minute nowwe invited them over for dinner and did it as gently as we possibly could, but she was still a little disappointed that I would have 2 children before she had 1. We invited her to Emma's birth and she was 12 weeks pg when Em was born.
Krissy!!!! Congrats on your!!!! all that trying did the trick then

Theres no harm in telling everyone early! And u dont want 2 think the worst like if u tell everyone and then GOD FORBID u loose it u then have 2 tell everyone that. But its not good 2 think the bad stuff but its still smart 2 weigh up.
I dont think ur understanding me GET IN UR CAR, DRIVE 2 THE SHOPS AND BYE A TEST!!!!!
OMG!!!! KRISSY do u no 4 sure?????!!!!!![]()

Yes Kass, Alex has my surname.
I'm not meaning to offend anyone here... but i know that probably all of the unmarried mums in here - all of their babies probably have their Dad's surname.
Anthony and I don't think it's right for a baby to have a different name to his/her mum. And i don't think it's any more deserved by either sex to have surname rights - so, as we're not yet married, there's no good reason why Alex should not have been given mu name. Anthony also originally didn't want me to keep the baby, and i think that's probably largely why i was so adamant about it in the first place, but he has eventually made up his mind for himself and come to agree.
Anthony and I aren't married yet and so i figure, there is no reason he can't have my name, it's an old traditionalist and sexist reason for the father to get the surname rights anyway & especially because neither of us had decided what we'll do with our surnames when we do get married.
We have now, and all three of us will have a hyphenated surname. im very antsy about silly traditionalist values and i dont think that just because i have a vagina i should have to give up my name, nor that I am any less entitled to give my name to my baby.
Anyhow. His parents were p**sed to no end, and that's what said falling out was about last week. They got all high and mighty about family pride and i was fuming. It was the day we came home from hospital so we didn't even get to enjoy our first day home. I just told anthony if they were going to have a go at me about it i'd tell them he wanted me to have an abortion so they should consider themselves lucky to have a grandson at all and see how they liked that. GRRR. Turns out they were just in a bad mood because they're too sick / broke to come down and see him before his Christening and he will be 4 weeks old by then.
Congrats Krissy!!! Let us know when you know for sure!!!
& Trini make sure you keep us updated too!
Jess i wondered where you had disappeared to, good to see you pop your head in again.![]()

IL's r D!CKS!!!
trust me i know what u mean i still dont like the fact that bella has clints surname as it reminds me of 'his' family! Thats y no matter how many children we have the second name always has something 2 do with my family.
If and when we get married im keeping my name!
I always say she's only a 'Brierley' by name not by nature!
at 1st it made me feel as though she was thres more then mine now i relise theres no one more important 2 her then her mummy a name or her looks will never change that.
Now im starting 2 think of clint when i say her last name not hes family as thats the only good thing they've ever done is created him, no matter how bad they treat him.
The fools r allways broke coz they make dmumb as$ choices. GGGGRRRRRR they aggrivate me!
do pl like this ticker or the old one better?

I like this one. I think it should be a statement about your life, ie. em is bottlefed and she has the bottle slider, and i am constantly drawing hearts n flowers![]()
