I'm quite excited... drum roll..... fanfare ... it's my last day at work today. Let joy be unconfined. I've got two 4000 word essays to do and an exam and then I'm a full time Mother!!! Hurrah hurrah hurrah.
LondonMiss - woo hoo for you for finishing work!!! I don't know how I managed to fit work in, i've been so busy since I finished up, yet if you were to ask me what i've been doing it doesn't sound like much at all! Have you been a good little expat girl and voted this week?!
Renee - glad you got in to see the doctor of your choice, even if you did have to tell a little white lie. What she doesn't know won't hurt her! So another Newcastle girl huh - there were a few before but they've had their babies now. DH is from Newcastle so it's where all my in-laws are. I like Newcastle, just not the family there...!!
Brunette - sorry to hear about the blot clotting and the bed rest honey, but I definitely think you should take comfort in seeing the heartbeats and I know it's going to be incredibly hard, but make the most of your 'resting' time and relax as much as possible And post all day if you have to - afterall, you'll have LondonMiss and myself on here too since we'll be bored housewives
CK77 - hope all is going well and you manage to keep the nausea at bay!
Paula - glad to hear Tiana is making her presence known! I think the Chicklet is getting too big now for kicks etc., as I hardly ever feel them any more, though I can feel her moving around in there, and like you, I love watching my belly moving from side to side!
Miss K - how are you going? Still with us here?!
AFM - Well I think today I might start washing the baby clothes while it's (a little bit) sunny. Then again, the house magazine I subscribe to arrived yesterday and it seems a lovely day to snuggle on the couch reading. I seem to go through phases of day on/day off of cleaning and being active! Yesterday was a cleaning/baking today so it seems today might be a lazy day...
Hello to everyone else, hope you're having a super Friday in preparation for the weekend!
Pregnancy brain!!! I was wondering why i havnt received any replies to my post.... i didnt even post!!! I thought i did!!
Newbies~ Welcome. To those who were asking about no morning sickness,i was in the same boat.I was on here asking the same questions, thinking that it wasnt good if i wasnt sick.I got my + at 4 weeks with a beta of 400 which was quite high for that stage.
I had NO changes in my breasts, cramping and no sickness. Then at exactly 6 weeks,i ran to the bathroom feeling sick and dry reaching because of smelling something.I never really got sick apart from that but couldnt stand the smells of things and lost my appetite.I lost 2 kgs in the first trimester due to no appetite and things smelling yuck.My breasts didnt start to hurt til about 8 weeks.I was under the impression that if you 1.Had a strong viable pregnancy 2.Were having a girl and 3.carrying twins..that you would be really sick.
Well im now 27+2 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl who kicks and moves all day.
So dont be too worried.Best of luck with everything.
Lise~ A lazy day reading sounds ideal.I am waiting for a plumber then might go and buuy a new mobile phone as mine doesnt work anymore. Not sure though.I SHOULD be making dolls!!
Kyra~ Where are you!!!! Hoping that your holding your new bundle.
Londonmiss,smithy,miss k, everyone else..hoping you are all well.x
Im so excited now to be only 13 weeks away.Im so glad that should Peanut come early she now has a 85-90% survival. As you all know by now im a huge worry wart! First it was worrying about getting to 12 weeks, then worrying about preterm labour before she was healthy enough to survive. Now i feel alot more relaxed. Its so nice to be in the last trimester.A HUGE relief.
Am dying to start the nursery. We bought our cot etc but when we opened the cot we noticed a huge 30 cm crack in the end piece!! I have now been waiting to hear back from Bertini to see if they have a spare part. Will call them today.Otherwise we just need our new drawer handles and i can start setting up the room. Not that she will be in there til a few months old as she will be in her bassinette in our room.
I have the mobile, breathing monitor, sheets, change table, carseat, etc etc and cant wait to get it set up.
Oh..i was meaning to ask those who have had their bubs...Boc,Smithy,BDT...How soon did your bubs grow out of 0000??? Thats the only size i have bought, now im thinking i should have gone for the 000?I know its dependant on babies size but assuming bub is a 7-8 pound at birth? Probably a stupid question.
Well im off for the day.Have a great weekend girls.xx
Wow, there are so many newbies in here now. Congrats to you all on your BFP's, and welcome... it's great to have you in here.
And hi to all the other ladies in here too.
Has been a few weeks since I posted as DH has been on the laptop most of the time doing uni assignments. Way too much time passed to try and catch up with everything that has happened.
We had a 3D/4D scan this week (28 weeks) which was really good. I'm so glad we did it. We were lucky that Baby Charlie was cooperating too - he was awake, moving around and showing his face heaps. I also wanted to use the scan to re-confirm that we are having a boy. At 20 weeks, the sonographer said it was a boy, but I couldn't see what she was seeing, and I really wanted to see for myself. Well I can definitely say I saw it for myself this week - and it's definitely a boy. So I feel much more comfortable about going and buying boy things now.
LondonMiss - glad you finally had a successful 4D scan too. And congrats on finishing work.
Lise - glad you are enjoying your leisurely time at home.
Not sure who asked about the morning sickness, but I can say that I've had none... nada... nothing during this pregnancy. I too thought there must be something wrong, and on top of the weekly blood tests I was having at the clinic, I was also doing home pregnancy tests every couple of days, just to check that I was still pregnant. I had no morning sickness, no sore boobs, no cramping at all. I didn't feel different at all.... so it does happen.
We finally have all our nursery furniture now which is great. Everything is still in boxes though, because I have to wait for DH to finish his assignments before we can put everything together.
We are also hoping to go away on a babymoon in a month or so. It will probably only be for a couple of days, but something to look forward to nonetheless. I think that when I go back to work after the babymoon, I will only have about a week and a half left of work before mat leave. Can't wait.
Well I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I am taking Monday off work, so I am looking forward to a long weekend.
Happy mother's day ladies! Hope you all had a lovely day :-)
Wishes - glad you got the confirmation that you're having a boy! Now the fun shopping part can begin
Wantbaby - hehehe, that is a case of baby brain! I think I've been okay lately but DH did refer to a particularly vague period I wasn't really aware of though he said I've been better since I finished work...!
I am still here just been stalking you all rather than posting I have been in stalker mode lately just finding it nice to read how you're all going
I have an OB appointment tomorrow soo excited!! Nothing much new here though just enjoying everyday
Hope your all well!! And Kyra I have been stalking you now for a while who is doing her BA??
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LADIES!!!
WARNING LITTLE RANT AHEAD:
My sister and Dad were the only 2 to say it to me DH said I'm not a mum yet so he doesn't wish me a happy one or anything till we have ours here which cut deep cause it makes me think about our first angel soo sad My sister brought me beautiful flowers and a necklace and earrings and a card though after DH's comments I felt undeserving and like I'd lost this one and like I shouldn't get attatched yet!
I had a frustrating day for other reasons. For MONTHS, we've had a big lunch for DH's birthday in the diary and at the last minute, everyone pulled out. Sick kids, hangovers, football matches and most frustratingly, couples who the husband had booked a surprise lunch for Mother's Day without consulting their own family calendar to see that they were already going for lunch. ARRRRHHHH. I felt really bad cancelling the table the restaurant could probably have got a booking, and it's such short notice. DH was really gutted although he pretended not to be.
We went out somewhere local on our own, and got utterly frustrated with a big table with kids next to us, the kids all watching films on their little screens - with sound. Even when the waiter asked them to turn the things onto silent they didn't. I don't understand how some parents can be so oblivious to everyone else around them. Our meal was ruined, and three tables next to them all moved. Surely being a parent doesn't make you oblivious to social niceties?!?! What happened to nice quiet books for children in public? Anyway.
I'm having a major study crises having left it far too late. I now have to write 4000 words on Dracula, which would be considerably easier had I actually read the novel!!!! If anyone has any brilliant insights, do let me know....
