    Well I am BACK !!!!!

1st things 1st Happy birthday Cody and all the other birthdays I might have miss while I have been away...

Amanda- on the baby boy!!!! I would love to have another boy so maybe next year you will have to ship me over some of that water

Well as there is just too much to catch up on and most of the personals would be way to old now anyway I wont bother and just start from today....

The trip down was good we camped until the kempsy (sp?) but used motels and BHL's aunts house after that as it was just too cold to be in the camper at night... We took the kids to Aust Zoo which they liked but I dont think it was worth the money you have to spend to not only get in there but also the food and merchendice (sp?) we spent about $ 400 on the day, We also took the kids to sydney on a train which the big ones loved Kai not so much, but we had a great day anyway..
Poor May didnt know what a heater was as when we got to BHL's aunts she asked what it was, poor girl we all couldnt help ourselves and just laughed thats what you get for living to the tropics...

It only took us 2 weeks to get a house once we got here but we didnt know that we had to connect the power ( as in the defence the power is always on you just ring them up and they will start to bill you from that meter reading) anyway once we called them we were told it would take 3 days but as it was a wednesday it would be on until monday and then it still wasnt on as the forgot about us so we didnt have power until tuesday almost a week after we " moved in " thank goodness for mum and dad!!!!
so we have been here a week and only just got the internet connected as once again the wireless didnt come until friday and you cant connect until 24 hrs latter which made it today....

Zayden started school today seemed to have a good day has a male teacher ( his 1st ) he seems really nice and Zay told me does a really funny dance.. He has been put into yr 2 and not 3 which is what I wanted and queensland is different so he should be right on track now but it is a 1/2 class which I hope will mean he might get to catch up with spelling a writing as he is way behind in this area...

May has gotten in to a kindy and starts on wed so I will let you all how that goes after that, now all I have to do is try and be a big girl and find a playgroup and try to make some friends of my own...

    well I better go

Welcome back Tali! Good to hear things are starting to fall into place. Are you loving the cold weather??? I'm just about to flick on the central heating... if it was just DH and I we wouldn't bother but the kids are looking a bit cold and it's nicer to have a warm house for bathtime. We turn it off after dinner though and keep it off over night...can't afford another $400 heating bill... and that was for last year... utilities have gone up so much this year I'd hate to think what it would cost us to keep the heating on all night this year. DH flicks it on when he gets up at 6am though... stays on until about 7.30am.

Anyhow good to hear from you and to know that you made it down safely

Maya: just keep on doing what you've been doing re BFing Oscar You'll know when it's time... won't need any help... when you hear a negative comment visualise water off a duck's back... you know the drill

Tali - so glad to hear you are now officially a Melbournian! Sounds like your trip down was pretty good. I loved Aus Zoo, but I agree, its a bit pricey. What suburb did you decide on? You poor guys must be freezing, it has been so bitterly cold at night the last few weeks. You will be using that heater a fair bit the next few months. Great news with Zayden's school. Maybe the male teacher will be a good confidence booster for him. I'm sure May will love her new kinder. You'll find new friends (plus you have us!), you are such a lovely person, with great kids - what's there not to like. Let us know when you get settled and we can hopefully organise a get together.

Maya - hopefully DP will come to understand how important it is to you. I don't know whether it will truely sink in? Chin up though. How is exam preparation going? Sending lots of good, positive vibes your way.

Rory - we get dirt and wrestling here and it mainly comes from Marley LOL!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CODY!! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Like Bath, I have my central heating cranked up. It was such a lovely day but soon as the sun has gone, its gets so cold. I have chicken kiev cooking in the oven and it smells delicious, better go and check that its not burning!!!

    Hi all,

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, we had a BBQ on Sunday night with my brother and SIL which was great, I made a teddy bear cake which is in my gallery, it turned out alright I think, had a few disasters along the way but we got there in the end.

Also thanks for all the congrats on my little man, I must say that I'm sad because I know I'll never have the mother/daughter thing, but I think I was more upset when I found out Cody was a boy then this time around, I actually had a feeling for a few weeks that it was a boy but I kept them to myself. But as Bath would say I should trust my intuition.

I'm actually quite looking forward to meeting this little monkey and know that all my boys are blessing and are here to teach me about myself, I think.

    hugs xoxo

Oh, Amanda, there are mummies who will never know the Mother/Son thing, too! Blame your DH All kids are blessings, daughters or sons, aren't they? I know that sounds twee, and at least you have some time to adjust to that reality before bub comes along.
I was reading that Melbourne is going back to genuinely cold winters for another few years! I don't mind, I like a good excuse to rug up in delicious winter clothes. It means I might have to rug up my horse a bit better, though...
Nic - ditto what Bath said, I never got my arse into gear about recording the birthdays and I hate to say it, but I rely on your diligence!
    Gotta study again...

Its so good to know that even Melbourne people are feeling the cold and its not just me !!!! mind you i feel like I cant complain as it is what I wanted, Just forgot how cold it really gets plus knowing that I havent seen the worst of it yet not helping....

But so far I have been good as I try not to turn on the heat until 4.30 then we are turning it off at night and bhl turns it on when he gets up for work then I turn it off about 8.30 when I have to do the school run, plus we have been very good so far as I and walking to school and kindy every day so at least by the time summer comes around my legs should be smoking lol ( thats if all the extra hot food doesnt go straight to my butt..)

We are now living in Berwick which so far isnt too bad I will be going to a playgroup on friday and hope it nice and friendly, I was told by May's kindy teacher that I need to make local friend so I can put them on my contact list as mine are all to far away to come and get may if I couldnt. I found her quite rude really, like I dont know that already!!!

I was a really brave girl today as i drove to fountain gate and shoped all by my self lol I know this sounds funny but I have never had to drive around with so many cars before dont like it much dont how I will go tring to drive out your way Mel and Maya, but I am sure I will get used the traffic one day... Plus I hate going to shops by myself I always feel like such a scott but I guess thats because coming from such a big family I never really had to shop alone ( well I did have Kai but she doesnt talk much ) But I had to get her a birthday gift gee its hard to get a 2 yr old girl a gift expecally when she has 2 older sibs so has so many toy already, I really wanted to get her a rocking horse but the only one I found was $140 and for us thats just too much, so I ended up getting her a toy dog that grows and learns its name and as she just loves dogs thought it would be good we will soon see on friday...

Well saturday is our 11th annavesery cant believe its been that long!!! we have decide not to get each other any thing this year but thought we might go up to Mount Dandy for lunch or down to the farm on the gippsland hwy that milks the cows at 3.30 each day and has lunch there as well looks quite nice anyway... Then we are having a BBQ on sunday for Kai's b'day with just the family..

sorry this turned out to be such a long one...

Oh, Tali, driving out to me there isn't that much traffic coming from Berwick You'll find out when you come up on the weekend for your anniversary (congrats, BTW!). There are lots of playgroups around your area, I don't think you'll have trouble making friends. It's an area with loads of families. And don't worry - I hate shopping centre shopping without my sister to come with me, too! It feels like the walls are moving in on me and I get the heebie jeebies.
Gotta go back to studying before the farewell do for one of the childcare ladies here at uni...

oh Tali, bringing back a lot of memories from when i first moved to melbourne!
i remember trying to go to the local shops the "short" way ie: backstreets, had NFI what i was doing and a 5min trip took 25mins! you'll gradually get used to things.
i hope you like your playgroup. ive gotta go to a new one soon when we offically move cause driving 45-1hr to get to my current one by 9.30am i dont see happening!

i have had a shocking day with Nixon today. DH has been away o/s for 6days now and i think its taking its toll on Nixon. he has been crying for most of the day, whilst i tried going to the shops and getting 1nice pic of the two boys together, never happened, he had a tantrum in the pouring rain and not long after waking from a 2.5hr nap i had to put him back to bed until he calms down because i just cannot deal with him atm!!

Nic I feel for you and really dont know how you, rory and Ali do it with new babies as well I know looking after Kai is hard enough boy can she throw a tandy now!!!! its like the closer she gets to 2 the worse she is becoming she wont have a day nap anymore wont go down at night unless she is sitting on the couch with me and just falls asleep ( sometimes this is 9.30 pm ) she wont eat dinner unless she is on my lap, and last but not least she wont sit in her pram unless she wants too which most the time she doesnt and has to walk!!! I too cant deal with her much but she wont let anyone else near her even BHL, so its all up to me... I am hoping this is all because of the move and she will settle down a bit soon... The other night we put her to bed with her bottle which is how she used to go down she cried for half hour before she was quite but when we went in to check her she had taken off all her PJ's and nappy plus wet the bed so all in all she didnt do to well...

Has anyone else got a none talker Kai will only say a few words but not many maybe 20 if where lucky, do you think I should go get her checked out?

When I droped off Zay at school today I run into his teacher so i asked how he was going and was told that he was sent out of class yesterday ( not that Zay told us this) because he was talking to much and had been given 3 warnings ( good one Zay its was only day 3) anyway the teracher asked if he has ever been assessed for a learning dissabilty, which he hasnt ( this is frecking me out a little ) anyway the teach seems to think that he has one as Zay just cant seem to remember anything ( I have know this for a while but just thought he was been a little s**t ) as he doesnt have the consentration for anything and when asked to do anything forgets what he is ment to be doing 5 mins later, he can never remember what he did at school which I have always yelled at him for as he was just there, he has to remember something but maybe he cant, I kinda feel a bit slack as for the last 3 yrs I have been getting so cranky at him as he doesnt tell me anything and when he was home last month he just would write about anything even though we did lots of things... I wonder what it is I hope its not ADD but hopefully what ever it is he can start getting the help he needs.... Not that much will be done this term as the teacher is to busy doing school reports, but it does make me wonder why no other teacher has picked this up?

Amanda - I'm actually quite looking forward to meeting this little monkey and know that all my boys are blessing and are here to teach me about myself, I think.
What a beautiful way of looking at it. That is so true. Glad the birthday gathering was fun, your cake is fantastic as always.

Maya - how is that Big Mac going down? Bet you feel like celebrating now, exams over. YEAH. How do you think you went? Looking forward to a bit of break now?

Nic - I bet Nixon misses his daddy, but that doesn't help you much! Hang in there, hopefully DH is home soon? Nixon will probably be a perfect angel when he gets home.

Tali - I love Berwick! Its so pretty and there is lots around you - good shops, restaurants, schools etc. You are doing very well with your heater. I am such a cold fish, my heater is on all the time and I can't go to bed without my electric blanket on. Fountain Gate is pretty good, has lots of shops. I haven't been there for a while. I actually like going to the shops either by myself or with ONE of the kids (not both lol!). Chelsea is like a little adult these days and wants to sit down at the sushi shop and have lunch. The toy dog sounds cute, I'm sure she will love it. Congrats on the anniversary, I'm sure you'll find somewhere yummy to visit. Chelsea used to take her nappy off all the time, so I bought some masking tape and that did the trick. Masking tape is harder to get off than sticky tape. You might want to invest in some, saves washing the sheets. Marley doesn't say too much, still alot of babble. You could always go and visit the maternal child health nurse in your area and ask them. Chelsea always forgets what she did in class, sometimes I think she just can't be bothered talking or telling me about it. She asked me one day why I always ask her about her day! I would not take that as being a problem. The teacher has made her observations in a pretty quick time, only 3 days. He is at a new school, making new friends. It will probably take him some time to adjust. If you want peace of mind, maybe take him to a GP. ADD kids tend to be very aggresive and hyper and I don't think Zayden is like that from what you have described? Try not to worry, its probably just normal behaviour.

Marley has started hair pulling! She nearly rips Chelsea's hair out she pulls so hard. Poor Chelsea was in tears the other night, it must have really hurt. I've been telling Marley that she hurt Chelsea and that is not nice, go and say sorry. She walks up and gives Chelsea a kiss and cuddle, then laughs at her. Cheeky monkey!!!! She is such a devil sometimes. Anyone else got a hair puller? And if Chelsea is not paying attention to her, she will pull her clothes to make her follow. I think she is giving payback for all the times Chelsea stepped on her and squashed her when she was a baby.

    Better get back to work!

LOL Mel not only do I have a hair puller she also bites and pinches, it such a shame she looks such an angle people always come over to her o say how cute she is and all she can do is scream in their faces its soooo embarasing all I can do and say is " can you tell she is almost 2" most people make a quick exit... You are right about Zay it is very quick to make such a remark but there might be something there it just that no one want to hear those words, disabiltys when it come to your child.... only time will tell... isnt ADHA the aggressive and Hyper kids and the ADD ones just cant constrate... I dont really know but I know they are a bit diffrent to each other but I just hope it would be neather when it come to Zay...

Tali - you should google and check it out, be careful that you don't read too much into it though. Remember that some behaviours are normal. If you need any help with contacting someone for an assessment, PM me as I work with many child psychologists who specialise in ADHD/ADD. As I said, you might need to do this to put your mind at ease.

I wonder if Marley is going to graduate to biting and pinching? Maybe that's next!

    Time to go home.

    Morning all,

Happy birthday to all the bubs born today, Kailaia and I think Samuel.

Well I had a check up the other day and the Dr said I'm boringly normal which is good as you know and he also said since my pre eclampsia started at 35-36 weeks with Cody it would most probably start around the 33-34 week mark this time if I get so to watch for signs.

We're going camping this weekend and going to do a bit of 4wding as well as it will be the last time for a while as I'm not getting and smaller and it's getting uncomfortable.

Tali Kailen my oldest has a slight learning disabitity if that's the term they like to use but not me. His reading and writing is behind the others slightly, but they have him doing stuff with teacher's aids to help him, his partially comes from hearing problems that came to light at preschool, he's been getting help for nearly two years now and gets assessed regularly to see how he is progressing. So it may not be all bad for Zay, just know that it's not your fault.

Hi Bath, Mel, Maya and Rory and Nickers.

Happy Birthday to any that I will miss over the long weekend as well.

    hugs xoxo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kailaia & Samuel - our 060606 babies!

Amanda - it's nice to be boringly normal when pregnant. 4WD while pregnant would be interesting lol!!! Enjoy your camping trip. Hope the weather is good to you.

My MIL did something really nice yesterday. On Wednesday I was asking her if she would have Chelsea on Thursday over the school holidays, which was no problem. Yesterday she went and bought tickets for her and Chelsea to see Disney on Ice!! They are going to catch the train in and Chelsea was bursting at the seams to tell me last night, she is soooo excited. She was going to race into school tomorrow to tell her teacher how lucky she is to have such a great nana. I offered to pay for the tickets but MIL wouldn't accept it. She is a pretty good MIL, which I am lucky to have.

I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend.

    Samuel

Just think this time 2 yrs ago I didnt even know I was going to be holding a baby at the end of the night!!! as Kai didnt start making her self known until 8pm and then came out at 11.45pm on the only day I really didnt want her to come lol

Well even though it is Kai's birthday we have decide to make it her day on Sunday when the family is comming over and that way BHL will be home to she her open her present. As she is only 2 we didnt think it would matter much to her anyway its just been Zay and May having a fight this morning as Zay kepted saying that Kai was 2 today when May kepted say that she wont be 2 until Sunday didnt matter how many times I told them that they were both right, May just didnt understand and Zay is just a big tease....

Kids gotta love as no one else will lol

Amanda glad all is on track and you are boring and normal, I too when 4x4 driving while PG with kai but got so many bracksen hicks (sp?) that we had to turn around and head home but that could be because I hate 4x4 driving as it scares the living day lights out of me so maybe I was just to tence... Hope you have a great weekend...

Mel- thanks for the PM I will keep it in mind and have a talk to BHL about it see what he thinks, we do have private health so hopefully it would cover some costs but I think I might wait until next term as that way he would have been at the school for at least 4 weeks then we will see where to go from there, but I will defently get the number off you might as well go see the best if we have to see anyone.
Your MIL sounds wonderful I wish I had one like that, mine text BHL to say happy birthday to kai but that was it no love nana or anything plus it really bugs me because she wont ever call Kailaia by her full name because she told us it was a rediculas name for a child so she will only call her Kai, which is what I and most people call her but it just bugs me that she wont ever use her real name....

Well went to a playgroup today the ladies seem nice so I will go back plus the girls just did a plate so now I will have to keep going back just so that I can pick them up lol. I hope once I have been ther a while I will feel more settled in, both there and here in Melb as a whole as right now with this cold and feeling a bit lonely I begining to wonder what I got myself into lol but I alway feel that way to start with...
