Hi everyone,

I would like to join the group too....I have another boy to add to this group, Dusty was born on the 18 March, waters broke @ 2.30 am & due to failure to progress he came out of the emergency exit @ 9.35 pm. He was 4.35kg & 54 cm long.

Whew there are a lot of babies born during march and I apologise in advance if I miss someone or mix up the names as it is not deliberate.

DS doesn't sleep very well either, I would be happy with 3 hrs straight sleep but as I keep reminding myself it won't last forever. ATM he will generaly sleep for 1-2 hrs of a morning & then nap for the rest of the day for about 30 mins until about 9.30 pm - 11 pm where he only wakes for a "dream feed" I think they call it he wakes every few hrs for a feed but doesn't wake up. Occasionaly I will put him into bed with us just to get some sleep without having to get up to feed, it makes it easier to snooze while he feeds. I bf on demand, mostly every 2-3 hrs.

Andie: DS was feeding for 20 mins on each side & started to do what Cammie is coming off & on & now he is only on each side for 5-10 mins max, at first I tried to keep on the one side until the time was up but that was just frustring both me & DS. Not sure about teething are there any "blisters" on his gums ?? that is suppose to be a sign

Laura B: DS only poos every few days now & I think it just builds up though, like your 5 day surprise. When I was first told that BF babies only poo every few days or so I couldn't wait but now I think I wish he would go at least once a day. I think your little one's fussiness at the moment is that he is probably very distracted & interested in the world around him as my DS is the same, not quite so bad but everytime I am on the phone he thinks I am talking to him & keeps trying to talk to me instead of feeding.
About the mothers group there could be a young mothers group in your area speak to your community nurse or GP. I finally plucked up the courage to go to the local playgroup & as I am in the country things seem a bit more relaxed which is good!!

All-boys: I like your boys name, we had a few strange looks & comments when we chose Dusty, I didn't know about Dusty Springfield who is a girl apparently but I figure Kim/ Peter/Jodi/Toni etc... can be either so why can't Dusty!! & we had decided on Dusty before Slim Dusty died but everyone seems to think it is a tribute to him but you get that!!

Rustygirl: I checked out your blog & your boy is beautiful, I think it is amazing that they can go from skinny little mites to chubby little buddas in such a short amount of time!!

Bec: I think you are amazing for reestablishing BF, keep at it & let us know how you go!

Luey: My sister warned me about mummy guilt, I didn't believe her but I understand now. I think my DS seems to have reflux sometimes & I'm sure you've tried everything but I will add my 2 cents worth anyway. I find it hard to burp him most of the time but persist, generally for at least 5 mins or more & put him on his tummy after a feed, & that seems to have improved things. This is not to say that he isn't unsettled sometimes & he will still throw up the curdled milk & wake up crying etc... just something to try.

Reenie: My scar has healed well but have found lately that I am getting pain occasionally in that area also AF still hasn't arrived not sure if this is because I am BF or the C-section any ideas anyone?? (sorry if TMI)

I was also wondering if anyone has thought about introducing SOLIDS yet?? more a exploration thing than replacing a BF- Just wondering what where everyone is upto there??

ALSO how long do are your bubs between sleeps, I am putting DS to sleep after about 1&1/2 hrs but seems to fight & I was thinking I should stretch it out a bit??
