HI girls, Lots going on from the last time I was in.
Thanks for all the support with Cohen and his self settling.

Hey NJD, all I did was put him in his cot when I noticed his tired signs, gave him his dummy, put on some lullabys and a kiss on the forhead and left the room. He kept crying so every time he cried I'd go in redo the whole routine and leave again. I started about 3 weeks ago and it is really working. I don't let him "Cry himself to sleep" cause all he does is work himself up and then there is NO chance of him going back to sleep. If putting the dummy back in doesn't stop the crying (which it usually does anyway) I'll pick him up cause sometimes he has wind and if he does, he'll burp and then I'll put him back down and he'll go back to sleep. Other times he just needs 2 or 3 pats to get him to "it's ok mum is here" then I'll put him down and he's out!!! Still having the odd shocker of a night but it really is worth going through all the "pain" of getting him to do it by himself. I loved patting and rocking him but it would end up taking 1hr- 1.5hrs then I'd go to put him down and he'd wake up anyway. It really couldn't go on forever and it was taking up too much time. It felt as though I wasn't my own person. I now have time with Joel when he comes home from work and we can chill together + I don't dread Cohen's bedtime anymore and that is a great feeling.
