Dilemma’s

Hi all, I am sitting here wondering what to do about our financial situation, at the moment we survive. We live fairly comfortably but are on a pay-check to pay-check basis and do struggle to pay bills on time sometimes though they always get paid. I love spending my days with Jake and watching him grow and I don’t want to miss out on seeing our son grow up but on the other hand I want to get ourselves established before we decide to add to our brood so buying a house is paramount to this.

I have been offered a job working 5 days a week from 7am till 5:30 pm on a VERY good wage (almost a six figure sum per annum) and it is an easy job too, driving a loader and dump truck. There may be a way to get Jake to come with me if I can take the crusher operator position but that is not certain as yet. If I could do that it would be awesome! But at this stage I am working on having to put Jake into the care of a good friend’s mother.

The dialema is how to decide what the best course of action is, Jake would be very well cared for if he were to go to my friends mothers place however am I neglecting my duties as a mother to be putting him into care so early (he will be four months). Taking this job on will mean we will be able to put some serious savings away and really take a giant leap ahead in getting to where I want to be (stay home mum who runs a small agistment property ). I am planning to only be working for a year at the most so will be returning to Jake full time by the time he is 16 months old, about the time according to Brett that I am supposed to have another child! Eeeeeeek!

So what would you do? Take the job for a year, with the sacrifice of missing out on a larger portion of your son’s first year and set your lives up or struggle for the next few years but spend the quality time with your child??? Why would you choose what you did??

Cheers
Lisa
