Tracey - Just a personal opinion but I would NOT be putting pepper in Jordans mouth...I think thats awful!!! I would be trying time out first for sure...it has worked with Louis a treat...it just takes persistance...He sits at the door for a minute or so or until he's ready to apologise for hitting...We haven't had to do it for soooo long and now if he gets a bit cheeky we just ask him if he wants to go to the door and it's usually enough to stop him then...I know each kid responds differently though but I'm sure there are a few things to try before going the pepper option...

Lol...I'm with you on the washing...especially over winter it seems we've always got clothes hanging around the house everywhere...trouble is when we go out for the day I have to pack it all away in case anyone comes and looks...

Chat later - really need to go and have a shower...

Kristie I know the pepper sounds cruel but today I have threatened it and he has stopped in his tracks, he hasnt even had it yet so I think the threat seems to be working. Time out in his room isnt effective for us, neither is reasoning or smacking him (defeats the purpose really).
I am sure he will grow out of it but whilst he is in the moment I want to discourage it as much as possible.

No worries...You do what you need to do that works for you of course...If the threat of it works then thats great...We didn't do time out in Louis' room we do it at the back door where he's away from everything... I completely agree with not smacking him as well...

Michael was telling Louis to sit in his chair tonight while he ran the bath because he had dirty fingers from dinner and then Louis complains to me that we both tell him off to much!!! OMG!!! How do those words come out of a 2yo????? I said that we only tell him to sit there cos he's got dirty hands and he says - but I don't like to....He is way to clever for his own good with his reasoning etc...he's such a sensitive little thing...He then went into the bathroom and told Michael to say sorry to him...Gosh we both had to try so hard not to laugh...He's 2 going on 22! hehehe. Cheeky bugger.

tracey i have to agree with kristie,we put pepper in coreys mouth for the first time last week and i ws not too keen on doing it either cos it can be dangerous, children have chocked from it.i certainly wouldnt do it to a 2 yo.jordan has such an exciting colourful room full of all things a little boy would desire,i dont think sending him to his room is a good punishment, sit him somewhere safe away from anything exciting so that when he goes there it is no fun.he ill soon decide that he doest want to go there and get the message very quickly.
melissa, put a bit of threat into it and i bet you will get it evencheaper,as one of the other girls said it would cost them less than being sued.
james lost his basketball grand final tonight,he came away with a beautiful trophy for runners up.he still has his under 14 grand final on saturday so hopefully they will do better in that one.

Tracey- We put tori in time out at the end of the hallway with all the bedroom doors shut so she cant play with anything! It works a treat at the moment! I say at the moment though cos we have our days. Usually a threat of going to time out is enough with her.

    Good luck with it all!

Sorry to everyone else for not doing personals but i need to go to bed- i will check in with you all tomorrow - I have chachas 12month shots in the morning and then i have to get the house clean for an open tomorrow arvo! They better rent this place soon!

Time out doesnt work for us. I tried near the front door, away from everything. Milo wont stay there, or laughs at us, or hits us when we try it. After half an hour of me putting him back in the timeout area we're all too stressed and over it.

My Tupperware manager actually suggested the pepper thing too last night, she said that worked with her daughter. I dont know if I'd do it.

Nothing else seems to work though, although taking his dvds and toys away has probably been the most effective out of everything.

    Hi!

It's funny you've all heard of the pepper thing...I know when I was little and getting babysat the mum would do it to her daughter but I thought it was something that just wasn't done anymore!!

NIkki - Sorry to hear that James lost his game...send him some good luck on Sat from all of us!

Cindy - Good luck today! I'm sure someone will want to rent it! Hope Charlotte copes with her needles ok...

Rachael - I think taking his toys/dvds away is a great punishment!! It really gets to them and they know they've done something wrong to have that taken away...I've turned the tv off before and Louis hates it but he gets the message - I rarely have to do it now...Just the threat...

Well, I put off shopping yesterday so I'm going to head off this morning and poor Dylan hs woken up with a cold...poor little thing...he hasn't really had one for a while though so thats good...better get some eucalyptus for his vaporiser cos he's hardly slept the last couple of days...He can't stand a runny nose...

Well Chacha got her needles and was a sook! She is over it now though so its all good!
Tori decided today not to have a sleep which is doing my head in coz we had a bad night with her last night (always do thursday nights after child care) and she ended up in bed with me and al slept in her bed!

Rachael - i see on another thread that you have your glasses- are you getting used to them? It took me a while to get used to mine and even now (coz im slack aat wearing them) when i wear them it takes an hour or so for my eyes to work out whats happening.

I dont know what to say about the pepper thing - I have never heard of it and am thinking its not the best thing for the kids mouthes or gums (dental nurse is coming out in me ) but hey, each to their own! It wouldnt work with my girls anyway -they love all things peppery and spicy!

Whats everyone got on this weekend?

We have no plans, I dont have any parties this weekend, did one the other night which was great got 3 bookings from it! I should take a holiday from tupperware more often!

Better go cook tea - have just had people looking through the house again so didnt want to cook with them here!

Kristie- did the interested people come back with the other 5k?

Cindy - Nup...at this stage they're not going to budge the real estate agent said...Lousy buggers - LOL! We had someone else come through today and we have another ofi tomorrow so we'll just keep waiting...
Hope Tori wasn't too feral for you this afternoon! I ended up putting Louis down for a sleep cos he was being horrible and then Dylan wouldn't sleep - I can't win! LOL!
Louis helped me make pizza tonight - it was so cute and he was so proud of himself...he sets the table everynight now as well and when we all thanked him for dinner he just sat smiling and goes - your welcome! So cute...
Yeah on a great party the other day....I've got no work at the moment which means it's been quite peaceful - although I've still been placing orders - just not doing parties...We've got a pretty quiet weekend other than the ofi tomorrow and then Lea's b'day coffee and cake on Sunday...Probably good that we don't have too much on now with Dylan being sick...Michael's working tomorrow...ummm thats about it!
I know it's really sad to say but I'm actually enjoying not having much on - even socially - It's just been a drain keeping the house so clean etc that I just don't feel like I have much energy for anything else...Gosh...I sound like an old woman...LOL!

Tracey - pepper would have to be better than tabasco sauce. I know of 2 families that dot it on kids tongues as a way to curb bad behaviour. I freaked out when I was told that's what they do.

Thanks for the advice on the electric blanket thing. Benjamin actually slept in his bed the whole night last night for a change. He has a knack for working things out. He already knows how to plug things in and turn them on without being shown. Scary stuff. I think I might take the greener option and just keep him dressed warm and maybe add another blanket.

    Good idea Melissa...

Gosh it's so frustrating - the last 2 times I've tried to have a nap the phone rings or the kids don't sleep much etc etc...it ends up putting me in such a grumpy mood that I wish I didn't try to sleep at all...Sorry for the vent! I just feel soooo tired...I bought some iron tablets as I'm wondering if thats part of it...
Had Ofi - 3 couples through, 1 being a second look and we also have people coming through at 5pm for a second inspection from a couple of weeks ago...I'm so over it I just want it to sell!!!
Louis has been so super feral at the moment and I think my stress over keeping the house tidy is freaking him out...I feel really awful...
Looks like I'm coming down with the cold Dylan has...grrr...poor little thing fell asleep on the couch this morning cos I couldn't put him to bed so I then had to wake him to so we could get out of here for ofi...he fell asleep again on our way home and had a big sleep and then woke up and fell back asleep in my arms...poor little munchkin - he can't even get a proper sleep at home at the moment...

Sorry for venting big time...I wish I could have a glass of wine - LOL! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Nikki, OMG.. what bad luck!! Lucky you took it in for a service hey!! I hope you and Grant managed to find a car today!

Cindy, Glad you've had a quiet weekend with no parties, but thats great to have booked in 3 from 1 party!!

Well, I've just got home from dinner out at a thai rest and then we went across the road to our local club.. The dinner was lovely, although I'm still hungry and have just had a cuppa, 2 saladas and a choc spider!
The club started off ok, but as it got busier and busier, it took us almost 1/2 an hour to get a drink and we all felt like sardines!! They just let too many people in and they are all like 14 I swear!! I felt so old!!Hehehehe
Anyway was nice to get out and I'm now feeling mighty tired so I'd better get to bed..
    Chat soon ladies..xoxo

    Hi!

Alex - Thanks! It's funny I've still tidied up this morning I'm in such a habit - I think it's all the uneccessary stuff like putting the washing away every time we leave the house and sweeping every 5min etc. So glad you had a good night out! We went out for a birthday a few months ago and I felt sooo old...I'm just so not into it - I'd rather have a good get together at someones house where you can relax a bit iykwim??

Nikki - Bugger about your car!! I hope you can find something...
What phone did you get?? Michael wants to upgrade his to one with sat nav...

Well, the kids have got toys everywhere just the way it should be and we've had crayons and textas out making a birthday card!! We're heading off later to my SIL's for b'day cake so that will be nice - the kids will love seeing all the family...
I'm coming down with Dylans cold which I'm not happy about but it's too be expected...
    Chat later! Enjoy your Sundays!

Kristie congrats on selling the house thats excellent news and prob a huge releif for you both. I hope you feel better and the cold doesnt stick with you too long. Enjoy your SIL bday

Nikki sorry to hear you have car problems. I cant help you in the buying car dept sorry.....

well this weekend we cleaned up the backyard getting ready for the cubby which is coming next week. We moved all the pavers from the back and then transplanted plants to the front yard, it was a tiring saturday. Once the kids were in bed Jamie and I have a nice shower and then sat down and watched 2 movies we hired. It was a great night in. Today has been ok. I put Jordan down for a sleep as he was getting sooky and feral, he is still asleep now so obviously needed it. Liam has been pretty good, a little windy and chucky today. Today was my sleep in so I got to sleep in till 10am, so lovely.
6 week check up tomorrow and then thursday I am officially able to drive... bring it on. I think everything is ok with me. I am getting a little pain in the left prob from lifting Jordan too early but its easing off now. I am not worried about Liam he is gaining weight for sure, he is turning into a chubster already LOL
    have a great sunday everyone
