That sure does make it a lot easier having relatives down there. We were tossing up recently whether we should continue with Westmead or go to Queensland Infertility who have an office up in Toowoomba which is just 25-30mins away from me, but it would still be cheaper for me to go to Wetsmead even with flying down and accommodation etc. It is $7,500 at QFC at that isn't even including all the extras that want. Mrs M, they do make it alot easier for the interstate patients by reducing the amount of time you have to come in so you dont have to travel as much. Westmeadivf.com.au is there website. It cost me $1450 from start to finish and i got back $843 because i had reached my medicare net thing but if you havent then you get $348 back. They only charge the out of pocket expenses where as the other clinics charge the full amount then you have to get it back from medicare but there still cheaper.
I must say tho NSW has a better health system then QLD. My son has to see a specialist every 3 month for his ADHD which cost me $250 each time in QLD and i got back about $140. The specialist in NSW bulk bills so i pay nothing, none of the peds in QLD's bulk bill.

yes it is good that way with people interstate........they were also fantastic when we had our phone conference and not once did they talk negative about my age or having the endometriosis.....they did say however that it would take a few months to physically see them, but that was fine with me.....if i could i would be starting tomorrow, but we want to wait until we have our new house built...... the plus side of having a TL is that it actually slows the aging process of the ovaries, something the doctors will never tell you....I have now reached the magical age of 38, but i certainly don;t feel 38 and thank goodness most days don;t look 38, and my baby making parts are certainly not 38......besides it is the done thing these days to have babies in your late 30's early to mid 40's.....everyones body is different i guess.......Mrs M get in contact with Westmead they are great to talk to, they will send you out an info pack with a price list etc, then you can make your decision from there. best of luck.....cheers kiya

Mrs M, hey and welcome. I had my t/r at dr cooper and it cost me $10k altogether. he was in sydney. I live up north in qld and had lots of trouble trying to get help. there is a dr in brisbane through the public mater hospital that does the reversal, but I only just recieved their appt after 2 years of waiting. I'm not a huge supporter of ivf, but don't knock anyone for taking that road, and em put us onto westmead. they seem great. can i ask did you have your tubes cut, tied, clipped? if you do want the reversal that makes a difference.
dearmum, i am glad you think babies are from God.... but I am not really that young... wish I was........

Hi LadiesSorry i havnt been on in a while as iv had the flu yeh its going around in my house.Im 6 weeks pregnant now,but my stomach looks like 3 months still for the ET.I will be going to the u/s next Thursday cant wait.

Hi girls,
Its late and I`m just about to hit the sack but wanted to let you know we have a going by the scan I am 6weeks 2 days... due 9th Feb.
It was scary, the Dr could`nt see anything except sack so I had to have an internal u/s... I was so worried, sounded like dejavu (spelling) but that little heartbeat was just magic... got to go back at 10 weeks for another u/s but I feel really happy now and I can relax a bit !!! Thankyou all for the wellwishes and thoughts.

Hooray...... my internet is now sort of working again.....now i can stay upto date with everyone....Now on to the important stuff......dearmum and onemore.... **CONGRATS** on the baby news....hope the next few weeks past that first hurdle is smooth sailing.....anyone else TTC or about to head on their journey of TR/IVF, best of luck and i hope that it all works for you.....i have been trying to convince dh to just do it and get this IVF out the way.....he is slowly coming around instead of waiting for the new house, which looks like it might not be happening, because there is dramas with the developer......anyways ladies.....chat later....cheers kiya

OMG today i had my BT and my levels are 26700 so they told me i can have my scan on Saturday im so excitedGosh i almost didnt even bother going in for the BT but im glad i did because it reasures me that the baby is growingSorry its all about me me i just thought id pop in and keep you guys updated.Im off to bed now,hope you all had a great day.

I like hearing good news and it is even better when it is two. I am soo happy for both of you dearmum and onemore.

Westmead is pretty cheap compared to other IVF clincs. I found out about them and put Em on to them. I am glad that hubby is on your side with this as it makes it soo much easier. I will be going through them when everything is sorted out.
