we have roast once a fortnight. i throw it in with the shopping. we would like it more often, but we only get organic, free-range (farm killed if possible). and it appears that if you want that, you gotta own a gold mine LOL!
we generally have chicken or pork (depending on what the butcher has...ie if his farms that he buys off have it...
i do the roasts. DH has NO idea when it comes to roasting. once he decided to 'surprise' me and cooked a roast chicken...upside down, no seasoning, nothing. just threw it in and pumped up the gas LOL! it was horrid!!
i LOVE doing Jamie Olivers roast chicken. it is just yummy.
for pork, i do the basic, rock salt in the cuts and grinded salt on top and on the meat, stuff the cuts with rosemary/sage...and maybe a bit of honey...
usually have a side of apple sauce that i have cooked with a cinnamon stick. yum! oh and roast taties and sweet potato...
