Alison - I don't blame you for being upset. I would be too! I'm sure DH's intentions are innocent. Men just don't think sometimes. But he should have thought more about you and Amelia, especially given your meltdown the other night. I really love BS's suggestions.

Glad the paed appt went well. You did say that Amelia had a growth spurt last week so 400g probably isn't anything to worry about if that's the case. If the doc wasn't concerned, I wouldn't be either.

Tilda - Amelia hates being wrapped too and can get quite wriggly in the hug-a-bub. She hates having her head covered so I usually wait until she's asleep before covering it. But once she's asleep she sleeps really well and when she gets restless I can just wriggle or walk around a bit and she goes right back to sleep.

BS - I love the way you handle DH. I'm going to have to try that with my DH. I'm struggling to take care of myself properly as well as Amelia and I really need DH to look after me more, but haven't found a way to get the message across yet.

lilyzara - Welcome and congratulations. I also have an Amelia born on Nov 30 (she was due Dec 10). A few weeks ago I was having problems with Amelia not settling - she would be crying from 7/8pm until 12/1am. According to Robin Barker, the author of Babylove, most babies will have unexplained crying episodes at least once every 24 hours. But that doesn't help much when it goes for 5 or 6 hours at a stretch. Google 'dunstan baby language'. It explains the 5 crying sounds babies make and what they mean. I found that really helped me to interpret Amelia's cries. She has had a lot of lower wind issues and when she got hungry as well she would be so hysterical that I didn't get hunger cues and wasn't feeding her. Now that I'm much more confident in knowing what she needs she doesn't have those long unsettled periods anymore. Not sure if this will help you or not, but it can't hurt to try.

- Wow Jack is getting to be a big boy. Hopefully he'll settle down after his injections soon. Sorry you're feeling crappy - I think we all have days like that. Maybe you'll start feeling better once you get into your new exercise routine.

AFM - Well feeding Amelia from one side for 2 feeds in a row seems to be doing the trick. We had our first normal poo in over a week today and it was huge! Before becoming a mum, I never thought I'd find poo so interesting LOL

Gotta go, Amelia's just woken.
