here's a question. I'm on my second week in a row where I seem to have this foul head cold (it's like I had a different one last week ). So I googled and it suggested that you shouldn't exercise if you have a fever or symptoms "below the neck". With me its very standard head colds. Sore throat, sore head blah blah. So what would you guys do? I've been just doing as much or as little exercise as I feel like. Yesterday I felt crap so just did 30 mins walk. Today I feel a bit better, so did 30 mins walk plus 20mins exercise bike. We've had a bad run of lurgies (who doesn't with a toddler & bub in the house tho?!?!), so I guess it made me question whether i'm doing the right thing or not.

Beckoes - that was a great link. I reckno that's pretty much what I'm doing too, as I do eat extra when I exercise. I've also found my supply has been fine with what i've done (admittedly she was already 6 months old , so i guess supply was very well established). How did you go with your goals today? Great set of goals!

Lilias - you WILL get there. I figure it's like... if worst comes to worst & you do nothing... (or gain) you'll eventually get so pee'd with yourself you'll get mad & start to try lose. So given you know that, you might as well just do it now! And honestly, feeling better about yourself is worth way more than that little bit of chocolate or fatty food here & there. It's hard when you're not in the same place with your partner. DH and I have that - he's as heavy as he's ever been right now but is also battling a whole range of health problems (including meds with weight gain side effects ). I've had to just cut him loose (so to speak hahah) and go it on my own - and I actually feel better for doing it this way . I reckon your activity levels sound great. Honestly most of my time has just been doing 30 mins walk a day - if you're doing 40 mins, that's great. I reckon the key to success for me was just setting some really specific, measurable, achievable goals each week - how did I want to eat, what exercise did I want to do. And then the kilos will take care of them pesky selves. And my penance was that if I didn't see the rewards I hoiped for, I had to track my food (which I hate doing) and increase my exercise. Thus the punishment fit the crime so to speak. And eating well to avoid tracking calories is a marvellous incentive for me!
