Fiji Family Holidays
Here are 6 family resorts I visited in 2015 which you should definitely consider for your Fiji holidays!
Fiji Family Resort #1: Plantation Island Resort
Plantation Island Resort is located on the beautiful Malolo LaiLai island, which is part of the Mamanuca group of islands, just 16 kilometres from Nadi airport.
With a postcard perfect tropical beachfront and with eye-catching mountain views, Plantation Island Resort is a haven not only for adults, but children too.
The resort offers a complimentary kids club bursting with fun activities, including tie dye teeshirts, shell necklace making, fish feeding, family movies and so much more. Want some time with your partner? You can organise babysitting for only $4FJD per hour, which is just $2.55 AUD or $1.90 US. Babysitters can take your little ones into the kids club and provide one on one care, assist during mealtimes (highly recommended!) or find other fun activities around the island.
Unlike any other resort in Fiji, Plantation Island Resort boasts their very own kids-only waterpark, which is supervised by staff for peace of mind. Kids can also enjoy Plantation’s bungee trampoline for $5FJ per turn. Along with nightly family entertainment, where toddlers and older children alike bust their moves on the dance floor, parents will have just as much fun as their children.

Fiji Family Resort #2: Malolo Island Resort
If quality, personalised service and attention to detail is of highest importance during your family holiday to Fiji, Malolo Island Resort should definitely be at the top of your list.
From the minute you arrive at this hidden, intimate treasure amongst a mountainous rainforest, you’ll be continually impressed – no shortcuts are taken at creating the most personalised, thoughtful experience possible. Malolo also skilfully manages both family and adults only clientele, ensuring all guests are happy and their needs well catered for.
Malolo Island Resort’s complimentary kids club, Tia’s Treehouse, is offered for children 4-12 years of age, and includes some unique activities not offered in other kids clubs, for example spear making, a local school visit, crab hunting and so much more. In addition, Malolo offers a modern, air-conditioned teenage retreat, giving teenagers a private area with free wifi, the biggest beanbags you’ve ever seen, a ping pong table and a television. Babysitting is $10FJD per hour ($6.31 AUD or $4.92 USD at time of writing).

Fiji Family Resort #3: Sheraton Tokoriki
Above the soft white sands of Tokoriki island’s gorgeous beach, you’ll find the Sheraton’s newly opened resort, which offers luxurious modern comforts on a tropical Fijian island, giving you the best of both worlds.
Everything has been newly renovated, so the kids can enjoy the resort’s brand new kids club and attached playground. A unique feature of the Sheraton Tokoriki resort that is sure to be a hit for both parents and children is the fabulous cinema room full of beanbag couches, so children and their parents can enjoy the nightly family movie in air-conditioned comfort. Grab yourself an ice-cold drink from the bar and enjoy!
To beat the heat, your family can enjoy Sheraton Tokoriki’s beautiful swimming pool which overlooks the ocean, take a dip in a plunge pool (available in some rooms), watch an in-room movie or sip on a tropical mocktail in the resort’s restaurant, which provides a captivating view of the ocean below.

Fiji Family Resort #4: Sofitel Fiji
Bula and bonjour! With the divine smell of frangipani in the air, the Sofitel Fiji provides a contemporary and cosmopolitan feel to Fiji, with the French touch that the Sofitel is famous for.
Located on Denarau Island, only a 15 minute drive from Nadi airport, and 5 minutes from Port Denarau ($7FJ via taxi), the Sofitel Fiji gives you easy access to Fiji’s most popular restaurants, as well as cruises that depart from Port Denarau. In close proximity is the Big Bula inflatable park which is fun for kids of all ages.
Kids and parents will love the Sofitel’s huge swimming pool, complete with a waterslide and other features to keep kids entertained. The Sofitel Fiji’s kids club has an attached playground, plenty of toys for smaller children as well as movies for quiet time. Their daily program ensures fun both indoors and out.

Fiji Family Resort #5: Treasure Island
The majority of Treasure Island’s guests are return visitors – and that’s probably because they feel right at home on Treasure Island.
Only 30 minutes from Port Denarau via South Seas Cruises, from the minute you arrive at Treasure Island, you will agree that Treasure has a laid back, family feel about it – because at Treasure, it’s all about family.
Your children will be in awe of their turtle breeding program (turtles regularly nest and hatch on the island, and are protected on site) and the resident iguanas that love a meal of
hibiscus flowers. If your children feel brave, they can even have a cuddle of these oddly cute, scaly creatures!
Treasure’s kids club, Little Treasures, offers daily programs including the all-popular coral viewing and fish feeding, coconut tasting and scraping, turtle feeding, garland making and more. A three-tiered pool overlooking the ocean offers pools for all ages, starting with the toddler pool on the first level.

Fiji Family Resort #6: The Warwick Fiji
After a captivating 90 minute drive from Nadi airport, where you’ll pass through several Fijian villages, luscious green vegetation and cows by the side of the road, you’ll arrive at The Warwick Fiji. The first thing you’ll notice is The Warwick’s beautiful, eye catching gardens manicured to perfection – 28 acres of it!
The sand at The Warwick is soft and clean, there is no rough coral covering the beach, which you can find at some resorts. Instead, you get to enjoy stunning beachfront as far as the eye can see. The Warwick has several pools, including a 30cm deep toddler pool, as well as adults only pools in a separate area of the resort.
The Warwick’s kids club can be found at the front of the resort in large, air conditioned rooms, and their fun daily program includes the Kids Kitchen, where children up to 13 years of age can enjoy making a simple but delicious treat, boat making, Fijian face painting and more! Your children will have a blast – and may not want to leave.
