I chose to go public for this VBAC with a midwife clinic. Our hospital has 3 options, shared care, midwife clinic, or a specialised midwife clinic for low risk births. I had the special midwives (sort of like a birth centre in the same building) for my birth with Matilda and wasn't allowed to this time. I saw an OB at 12 weeks and only one again last week as DH & I needed to talk through our birth plan and get it put "on the record". I found the midwife team to be good, but I truely feel to get the birth I want I need someone else on my side, not on the hospital's paysheet side. They "have" to follow policies and procedures that the hospital declares, so by having someone who knows what I want & can keep doing as Kelly said whispering in my ear I can keep on the track I want. HTH!

So Christy, I know you've said before you're having a birth attendant & DH, is that it? You haven't opted for a private midwife?

And Rae, that's why I put these questions out there! Otherwise I could just email Kelly constantly But this is what BB is for, I get lots of information & opinions from different people and also I figure someone else will have the same questions too & it might help them.
